It evidently has new managers because the food and service have really improved this past year. Food is hot and usually very prompt.

Jack’s Place - Cheese burger basket!!

Jack’s Place

Eat at Jack's Place in Agra…read more Lisa, the friendly energetic hard-working owner, came out from the kitchen after our meals were served. She stopped by our table to visit and check on us. I was interested in the history of the building and big pictures of the couple that hung on the walls. Those are her parents and that is Jack, the name given to the restaurant in his honor. The building was constructed around 1906 and has a history of many uses. It is especially sentimental to Lisa, because of her father's unique tie to the building and previous ownership by relatives. She has a great story about all of this. Lisa opened Jack's Place a couple of years ago; her first (and very successful) venture into the restaurant business. Agra is a small town. How small? No Dollar Store small. Dogs probably sleep undisturbed the middle of the streets at night, small. The excellent reviews drew us to Jack's Place for breakfast. We dropped in between the breakfast and lunch time rush. We settled in at a tall table centered in the building. The welcoming young lady on duty brought menus and took our coffee orders. Big Jack's Breakfast for me: two over easy, hashbrowns, bacon and a biscuit with gravy. My wife said that is a lot of food. She ordered a smaller version of this meal, Small Jack's Breakfast. The eggs cooked just right, thick smokey bacon, crispy hash browns and a big biscuit split in half smothered with house made sausage gravy. Yeah, it was a lot of food. It was all good! Go for a delicious breakfast or lunch Tuesday through Saturday, and Dinner on Friday nights. You will enjoy the food, and say hi to Lisa! Not sure where Agra is? It is easy to find it with these simple directions. From downtown Tryon, hop on the 105 east bound and drive 4.8 miles. Where the 105 T's with 18 go north 1.8 miles. Jack's Place will be on your left. 10 am is the best time of day to travel, rush hour traffic is usually over by then. As you pull into town make sure your radar detector is on and watch your speed. The town's largest industry is issuing speeding citations. You're Welcome! Wait, you don't even know where Tryon, OK is? You ain't from around here, are ya?

Been closed over a year. Thanks for updating, not!!! Drove there for breakfast, no breakfast.read more

Hamburger King is one of those classic Oklahoma gems that just hits you with nostalgia the moment…read moreyou walk in. The 50's-style diner setup is awesome, but the real fun is picking up the phone at your table to place your order. You don't see that anymore--and I absolutely loved it! We arrived just past the lunch rush, so things were nice and relaxed. I walked in thinking I'd order a burger... but the Chicken Fried Steak called my name, and I'm glad it did. Perfect portion size--not one of those giant plate-hogs--and served with mashed potatoes and cole slaw. The cole slaw deserves its own shoutout: rough-cut cabbage, creamy mayo dressing, and served cold just the way I like it. Everything on the plate was delicious. My wife went with the Chili Cheese Burger and potato wedges, and she gave it a big thumbs-up. And since it's a diner, I had to finish with a slice of Coconut Cream Pie. Let's just say--mission accomplished. Creamy, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for. If you love classic diners, friendly service, and comfort food done right, Hamburger King is absolutely worth the stop.

Love the old school diner feeling and ordering by phone at your table. You can also watch them cook your order fresh from your table. The atmosphere is always welcoming and warm. Another restaurant's cheeseburger on my top ten list, just got bumped. There was no doubting that my wife would go for the Indian Taco. She found it on the menu as we were driving over. A large freshly made, golden brown Indian fry bread, covered with seasoned ground beef, lettuce, tomato and onions, with black olives, salsa and sour cream on the side. Look at that stacked up plate in the picture. It was delicious, as was my perfect cheeseburger with a side of crispy seasoned curly fries. Great friendly service from Scotty B's daughter who was working the restaurant today. Scotty B's is a great destination for Bikers, Car Clubs or anyone looking for a family friendly environment with excellent food. It has a big dining room with tables set up to handle a group. There is so much good food on Route 66 in Oklahoma, that you will need to allow for a week of travel time, to eat your way across the state. Route 66 Travelers, Eat Here! #700
