I went from being a weekly food customer & nearly daily drink customer to only coming here on the very rare occasion that my kids beg for it (they don't even call it Sonic, though,---they say "can we go to that restaurant that doesn't put toys in our kids meals?" Dead serious). This store has ALWAYS been poorly managed---always severely understaffed (one person cooks, cashes out, delivers to stalls, etc in the morning-only one person) but the staff was always kind, competent, and apologetic for wait times so I pushed past the negatives and remained a customer. Now it is just ridiculous there. This location clearly needs to be closed. You could go through Steak n shake's drive thru three times before getting your food here-and that's really saying something. Your food is going to be cold, your order is going to be wrong, you will likely be overcharged for something, and the staff will be rude to you if you question any of this. The icing on the cake for me is that they have now placed completely opaque contact paper over their drive thru windows so that the customer cannot see what they're doing (or not doing) inside. It is extremely unsettling to sit next to these covered windows and I imagine it could be a safety hazard to their employees as the paper appears to be opaque from both sides. Corporate really needs to look into this location. read more

Below sub par sonic blasts, I got the peanutty master blast and it was just vanilla ice cream. Same story with the cookie dough blast. Even the picture shows the ice cream as brown like peanut butter, but it was just vanilla. For 4 bucks, I could buy a bag of chocolate and a 1/2 gallon of Ice cream and call it good. Came here for 50 cent corndog night with a side of tots. I was pumped, my roommates were pumped, there was no reason why this shouldn't have been a wild night for dogs. We pull up to the place, it's poppin'. Alright, we understand, anytime you're basically handing out corndogs people are going to skert for them. We decide to pull up to one of the nice little ordering stations they have, figuring it'd be quicker than waiting in the drive-through line. So they take our order, and the girl says that she has to warn us that the wait time for the dogs is looking like 7 minutes. Well shit, 7 minutes isn't bad for 50 cent DOGS! We were so hyped man, but as the minutes ticked bye, the excitement vanished. Twenty minutes later we were still waiting for those dogs. People were coming and going with their food while we were sitting there wondering about the safety of our dogs. My roommate respectfully hollers out the car window at a worker. The dude says he'll go get the manager. Now I'm sitting here like, I don't wanna raise any hell with management, I just want some mother lovin' dogs. Manager comes out, we tell her the situation. She says she'll have those dogs for us in about 5 minutes. Well Jesus Joseph and Mary, we sat there for another 15 minutes before the dogs came out. All I gotta say is, thank goodness for 93.3 The Drive for playing classic flashback music non-stop. When we finally get the dogs, we speed out of there like a bat out of hell. I've been here three times since this place first opened and after tonight (my third time), I'm done giving this place chances. The first time I went, they messed up my order and of course I didn't know it until after I had already gotten back home. The second time I went, the food was very mediocre with no flavor. The third time (which was tonight and my last time going here), the food was just awful. Lukewarm hamburgers with everything just slopped on and messy and the fries were soggy and cold like they'd been sitting out for hours. And let me tell you something - when you order small fries, what you're really getting is SUPER SMALL fries. It was ridiculous. I've never been to a fast-food place where the small size fries were so few. I've given this place three chances, and as far as I'm concerned, three strikes and you're out! I'm done. read more

We ordered a combo meal - with a double cheese, no mayo, no lettuce, no pickle. And a double cheese (just the burger) no mayo, no lettuce, no onion. Ordered two drinks. They got the drinks right. That's it. Never got the potatoes with the combo, even when we mentioned it the second time they came back with the "corrected" burgers which were BOTH still wrong. Said they'd be right back with those potatoes. Never saw them again after that. Gave up and went home. At least the drinks were right. read more

Coming at you live from the drive thru of sonic. We've been here for a half an hour and there's only four cars in the parking lot and drive thru combined. Yet there are at least four people working very slowly inside. I've been to this sonic multiple times and I've always been disappointed in one way or another. Credit card machine only works half the time. The rest of the time you're spent left waiting and waiting for assistance with it. No napkins ever. Never deliver condiments that are ordered and the order is always wrong. read more

We waited a half hour to get our food, and it never came, so we came in and found that our order was lost. We waited another 20 minutes for our food and it finally came. Sort of. We got our fries and drinks. We then handed out our food to our car. I asked the front of the car for my hot dog. It wasn't there. We could not stand to wait any longer, so my dinner was tots and fries. You would expect after almost 60 minutes, you would get some sort of priority service, but no. The customer needs to be satisfied to come back. I will not be coming back for a very long time. Sonic burger lost its Sonic. It is now on crutches. Swore I'd never eat at this Sonic ever again after having to wait on multiple occasions 20 plus minutes for a milk shake order. Got lured back after a 2 year hiatus for a burger/onion ring deal and figured they would have gotten their act together by now. Boy was I mistaken! After not receiving my order after 30 plus minutes (4:00 pm on a Sunday, not even remotely busy) cancelled my order and left. Will never be back. Ridiculous way to run a business. Let me start off by saying my mom would come here almost everyday to get a drink, I come here about once a week... I won't be coming back very often after the service I just received. I ordered 2 large drinks, my total was $2.74. I gave the girl $5.74, she then if I wanted a recipe I of course said no because I didn't want another piece of paper I was going to throw away. Handed me my drinks and I started to drive away when I realized I didn't get my change. I then turned around and went back through the drive. The lady on the intercom was nice about it after making me wait 5 minutes while she figured it out. Asked me to pull up then I proceeded to wait while I could hear the two people arguing. I'm assuming the manager and the cashier. After a while the cashier opened the window and handed me $2.26... she then closed the door after saying "here you go". At the point, without an apology and her attitude, and giving me the wrong change, I'm done going here. She was very rude and I feel as though she may have pocketed my change, as to why I didn't even get the correct back. read more

Rumor has it (I could find no posted schedule on the building) that Sonic opens at 6 a.m. I drove through at 6:40 a.m. and the building was dark and deserted. I usually like their food but my frustration level goes through the roof when they're not open when they're supposed to be!! The first time I went we waited over half an hour and was still served cold food. We decided to give them another chance. The second time there was no one at the drive through window and no one taking orders, so cars were turning around and leaving. We pulled through and went to park instead. This is the only sonic in Bloomington-Normal. They have a great Drive- In atmosphere, and I was really excited to take my family there. The service has been fast friendly and the food always hot. I'm not a big fan of the Chili Cheese Dog, but the Chicago dog would def have to be my favorite. I would recommend going if you haevn't already been. read more

Let me start with WE LOVE SONIC! We were so excited when it opened and at first it was great. They food was delivered in a timely manner, it was hot, it was correct. After about 6 months being open, WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! Forty five minute to an hour wait time for food that was cold and incorrect. We don't special order so you would think they could get regular menu food right. Nope! The last time we went we got someone else's order. We had waited 20 minutes to even place our order, and hour to get the food and then it wasn't even our food! Waited another 15 minutes for an answer from the speaker and then my husband went and knocked on the door. No apology! He asked for our money back, but no one there "knew how to give refunds". Right. Waited another 20 minutes for our rush order and the food was still wrong! We ate it anyway, left and will never be back to this one. Also, of the last three times we went, twice they were out of ice cream! Really? You specialize in happy hour milkshakes! How do you run out?
