This is our go-to Sonic in the area. We often use the Sonic app to order and pick up our food, but this past weekend, we just went through drive-thru. Service was fast and friendly that day and let us know they were just waiting on our wraps. We got a cherry limeade, strawberry limeade, and bbq wraps to go. Their hours are sometimes confusing for late night runs, but we still have good service nonetheless. read more

Horrendous experience tonight. Sonic is always hit or miss, but this location is a consistent miss with tonight being the most annoying. Mobile ordered a Sonic burger combo, chicken bites, and an extra drink at 7:48 PM. Not really dinner time anymore, not peak Sonic hour. Essentially, they were not slammed. Pull up, park in stall, check in for mobile order, and start the wait. The 34 minute wait, for fast food that I ordered ahead of time. When the food finally comes out, the employee literally goes "Wow no one brought your order out yet! Here you go". We ask, is it all cold now? They respond "Nah it's been sitting under a lamp for awhile." And they walk away. Drive the 2.5 minutes home, open bag to find sad cold soggy fries, room temp chicken and barely room temp burger. Worst location ever! They scam me 24/7 every time I buy 10 sauce for an extremely high price added onto my already high total. This specific Sonic is my go-to when I don't want to cook or wash dishes. They're always super friendly, and normally pretty fast. As someone that worked at a fast paced place for 3.5 years, I ask anyone leaving a bitter review, or being rude to these workers, to realize that they are as human as you. They are high school/college workers trying to get by. Not to get all cheesy and personal, but it costs nothing to be nice, slow down and have patience. I also had a voucher for a free medium drink and I ordered using the drive through. Wait time wasn't too bad, only a few minutes. Ok, first a confession. Last week we did a day trip to Sedona. On the way up and then again on the way back to the Valley (Mesa) we stopped at a Sonic. Our confession is that those visits were our first to a Sonic. The food was great, great value and super friendly. We actually had the conversation as to why we had never tried Sonic before. We were fans, downloaded their app, opened account and all. Fast forward a week and we went to this Sonic on Val Vista. Screen on menu was out, second screen the card reader was not working. The food was NOT GOOD. The ice cream mixers in "the blasts " were almost non existent. Wow , you would never know these two restaurants were from the same chain. We Will never return to this location and honestly may never visit another Sonic. read more

I go to this Sonic all the time - usually have good experience! Today several problems happened. Tried calling twice before hand to get order in- no one answered the phone at all, let ring quite awhile both times. Decided must be busy so drove there. When I went thru Drive-thru, the speaker was all covered with cardboard and tape, no sign as to its use, didn't hear anyone trying to take order, so stayed behind two cars in front of me and thought maybe we had to give order at window due to speaker "out of use". Get to window and associate very rude to me when I started to give my order with no explanation of speaker, sorry for your inconvenience, nothing, nada. I informed him that I had tried calling earlier, but asked him why no one is answering phone - no reply, just pure rudeness. He takes my order, I'm paying cash and I ask for receipt and he tells me to pull in to spot across way. Proceeds to assist next 3 cars with orders, so I get out to stand by my car wondering why it's taking so long. Associate comes out slowly meandering his fat ass up to my car, still no receipt, no ketchup! Hands me food and turns around to walk back in! Terrible customer service!!! Ok, this is one of the reasons fast food employees don't deserve to make $15. Hubby went to Sonic for 2 pretzels and a blast. He ordered a pretzel with salt and the cinnamon one. Wait for it...... they put in the bag 2 cheese sauces and no icing. Maybe I'm just weird, but cinnamon and cheese sauce sounds terrible. On a personal level, of I say no cheese on any food that comes with it. This normally wouldn't bother me, but when it happens more often than it doesn't, there is an issue. It took "forever" for someone to answer the speaker. There were no other cars except mine. When I was finally able to place my order (a large coke) it then took a knot her round of "forever" for someone to come from the back to put my drink in a cup and take my $1.08 so I could get to work. We are regular customers at the Sonic location at 1260 S Val Vista Drive in Mesa AZ. I was baffled that when I asked for a cup of water, I was asked what size and told the different prices for the different sizes of cups for WATER! I told them a courtesy cup size would be fine. That's when I was told that is not offered. I drove up to the window and asked to speak to the manager. I asked her how they can charge for WATER in Arizona and she told me her boss said they have to charge and if someone complains tell them they can use the hose! Horrible service! I was just there, I placed an order and waited patiently for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes their screen told me my order was coming, then disappeared off the screen but my order never came. I then pushed the red button so I could talk yo the cashier. The older lady on the other end with a ton of attitude told me they couldn't find my order. She had me repeat my order over and over making it seem like it was my fault and like I was inconveniencing them by being there. Finally I got really frustrated and raised my voice telling her that my card had been charged so they brought me 3 wrong drinks, completely different from the ones I had ordered. This is my first and last time coming to this location. I came for a drink and a corn dog. It took them over 15 minutes to bring my order. An older woman brought out my order. She seemed irritated before I even rolled my window down. I asked for ketchup and mustard. She told me all I'm going to get is ketchup because they just had corn dog day and they are all out of mustard. She handed me two packets of ketchup and asked if that was enough.
