This place is so retro and so cute all in one! The service was amazing and the different toppings are just so perfect for a family or friend check in. I loved the service our server was ADORABLE and super helpful! I only wish they didn't mix the spoons for the toppings due to allergies and gluten. Right now it's 9:14 PM on Thursday night. Google maps says they're open, The sign on their window says that they're open until 10PM. My girlfriend drove all the way here from our house (which is about 10 miles away) to get this frozen yogurt. If It was up to me, I would not have it driven over there in the first place, but she doesn't eat dairy, so her options are a bit limited. If you're going to close at 9pm, then change your sign and your information online. It's very inconsiderate as a business owner if they knew about this. read more

On these hot summer days this is a great place to go to. I like the retro theme it was really cool. Their frozen yogurt is average but if you're in the area and need a place to cool down this is your stop. I had the vanilla and snickers and it tasted like vanilla ice cream with chocolate and peanuts. The service was average they were not friendly or rude. I'm not a yelper but this experience was funny to me. I didn't even get ice cream so I am not rating based on the taste, just the service I received. Here's my conversation with a young girl: Me: Ooo is the flurry kinda like a milkshake? Her: It's like a blizzard. Me: Nice that sounds good! She started shaking her head Me: Oh, is it not that good? Her: It's good, I just would have to make it in the machine and then clean it up after. Me: Ohh. Felt pretty awkward after, enough to make me not want to buy anything so I just left. She's wasn't rude at all, but her attitude and also one AirPod in her ear gave off the impression she could care less about that place. I don't expect her to be overly passionate about working at an ice cream shop, but her lack of self awareness was enough to drive a customer away. Decent yogurt for sure. I even like the part that it isn't self-serve. I believe that is a little cleaner. I'll still give you a taste if you want it. We came and were the only ones there. The girl was very polite at the counter and gave us nice service. We got the vanilla, chocolate and mint. My other half didn't like the mint, but I thought it was just fine. The yogurt was thick and creamy, and didn't melt too fast. serving size was good and the price was definitely doable. The environment is just average. Nothing fancy. A bit dated. And just an FYI, they do not provide a public restroom... Just in case you want to wash your hands or whatever. Furthermore, just know this isn't the greatest part of town. But we felt safe enough. A true mesa staple!! I've been coming to Mesa Frozen Yogurt since they first opened up in McKellips and Gilbert (1985) and followed them when they moved to Southern and Gilbert. Best family owned yogurt shop hands down! They still have the original pac man video game! I love everything about their customer service and the high quality yogurt they deliver. The yogurt was pretty tasty for a mom and pop shop. I usually get way too over excited for the do it yourself scoop your toppings on your own type fro-yo places but i figured id give this place a shot. As far as their flavors go from the one i have tried so far-decent. Nothing mind blowing YET. but decent...No mochi topping (-1 star) every fro yo place has mochi! Except mom and pop places. *tear* yes...i am really docking a point because of that because i am just weird like that okay? It's like going into a Boba tea place and them running out of boba or not even having any. It is slightly upsetting. I am half Filipino so i LOVE boba and mochi how typical right? I can't believe I've never written a review of MFY. I've been coming here since the early 90s, before Gene and Nan owed the place, when Beverly owed it. It's my favorite yogurt place and over the years I have tried different ones. I always wanted them to open a place near ASU, because that's when I started going there when I was at ASU. But they never did. They've kept this same location now for probably over 30 yrs. I typically have been coming here in the past year nearly weekly after Self-Defense or Physical Therapy or when I'm in the area. My kids love this yogurt place and it's not really all that far from where we live. I just love the taste of this yogurt. They've kept things fairly the same as for many years. I know there are other places that do it differently. I'm sad to see a few bad reviews and for being a loyal customer, I find it hard to write that bad a review unless you've given them multiple times. Nan and Gene are very open and friendly. Yes, I know there are a lot of young people that work here over the years. I think that's a great thing that Nan and Gene give young people the opportunity to learn and to earn some money. Maybe in some sense there is a high turnover, but I know some just want a job for a short period of time. I don't pay any mind to this. Or course, I can't discount the things that other people say because I don't know the young people they hire nor do I come in near closing or opening. I can see why those people are upset. I normally come in in the middle of the day or late morning. Anyway, I wish Nan and Gene great continued success and I hope that they have many more happy, satisfied customers than not. The best OG fro-yo in Mesa! I love the classic flavors with a little twist like chocolate or vanilla with a candy bar flavor. My mom always took us here as kids and I remember when we used to all get fro-yo and pretzels. Her favorite toppings were carob chips and granola. Now I can't help but get the same in mine! This is not a wonderful frozen yogurt experience. I'll admit it was my fault for wanting to try a different flavor. I selected peppermint and did not like it. You get to select topping that are in a display case to be added by an employee. The best part of frozen yogurt shop is adding topping just as one wishes so that disappointed me as well. The staff is really friendly, but the nail salon next door ruins it for me. The smell is overpowering and irritates the eyes and throat. It smells stronger than any nail shop I've been to, and a froyo place definitely should not smell like that. It can't be healthy for the employees. Like many others, we have come to MFY for many years for the best tasting frozen yogurt. We came with our grandson on Thursday, June 11th and were shocked to see how filthy conditions were. The floors, tables and floors under the yogurt machines were littered with debris. It was sad to see, especially in these times! Someone needs to clean and disinfect the place before we come back. The girl was just sitting and watching shows on her phone in between serving customers when there was plenty of work to be done. We hope this improves and soon! read more

They have a selection of to-go frozen yogurts that aren't on their daily menu which is nice. Their offerings also included some snacks such as nachos & pretzels.
