This was hands down one of the worst fast food experiences I've ever had. This Sonic location is absolutely disgusting. The outside of the restaurant is filthy, the parking lot is full of massive potholes, and the entire place looks run-down and neglected. The employees seem completely clueless. They couldn't even make a drink that's listed on their own menu--the Twisted Flamingo--which is beyond ridiculous. The young guy working the order box today had zero personality, spoke so quietly I could barely hear him, and provided some of the worst customer service I've experienced. He acted like taking an order was a burden. The food was the final straw. After eating here, I got extremely sick and have felt awful all day. Considering how dirty this location is, I'm not surprised. This place feels completely unhygienic and unsafe to eat at. Management should be embarrassed for allowing this location to operate like this. Honestly, this place needs a serious health inspection because it's absolutely unacceptable. I use to come to this location pretty frequently as I work 5 minutes south. However, I stopped coming because the service is atrocious. Not sure if they got new management or staff but at this point they need to. I've on 2 other occasions waited in the drive thru for over 15 minutes just to leave because of the wait. I understand food may be made to order but that long just to take the order is ridiculous. Today I waited. I really wanted a slush. There was another car in front of me and it was 10+ minutes before she got to order and it was only after she honked for their attention. Then when it was my turn, I was told that they'd be right with me...it was another 10minutes before they took my order. So I spent more than 20minutes waiting in line before my order was taken. After that it was maybe another 10minutes since the car in front of me hadn't received their food. I got my order and it was correct and tasted good. But the service is severely lacking. So today was a clean and clear the refrigerator day and we were very busy! Too busy to make lunch; I went to Sonic and bought their Smash Burgers. So glad I decided on them because the Smash Burger was absolutely fantastic and made to order , very fresh and seemed more elite than its menu price would have made you think... The food is definitely comforting and it's filling. The price on it is exceptional for the amount of food you get. These burgers are not just any burgers and they obviously work hard over there. It sucks that sonic is falling apart. This location tore down all their drive in screens so now it's only drive thru which in my opinion is not any better. I sat in the drive thru for a whole30 mins before getting my order. (The order was one meal). We know it would not have taken that long with the normal drive thru spots. When I was sitting behind the person ordering, I heard the girl working interrupt him then started to try to argue with him. It sounded pretty ridiculous. I asked for a refund on the app and they told me that they could not do partial refunds but offered me a $5 gift card and a free onion ring if I bought an entree. I paid over $7 with tax for the cheddar peppers and do not care about the onion rings so I emailed them back to tell them this and they said this is all we are offering. This is terrible customer service and definitely did not make it right in my books. It is amazing that when I go to McDonald's and they are out of something they give me a refund in cash on the spot. Guess this is a franchise so it can be a tad worse than corporate run stores. Still, high schoolers or college students with other priorities than food speed and accuracy. Short interactions without much emphasis on customer service or general pleasantries. The parking lot has always been clean. Pretty empty as well as parking so I've always been lucky. Can be a pain turning into this location with Wickham traffic. Other than that it's the sonic you know and love. They have all the deals you see on national television. Shakes. Slushes. Hot dogs. Wings and burgers. Never bothered with the drive through here, but apparently it's as slow as purgatory. Service wise you order when it's slow and get average service. When they are slammed it all falls apart. Other local sonic locations so maybe better luck with them? For where I stay in the area this spot works well. I decided to pull into a stall and as a passed the window, I noticed the 2 girls working were talking and laughing with each other. When I tried to place my order, I was told they were only taking orders in the drive thru. I pulled into the drive thru again, and asked for a limeade with light ice and extra cranberry. The screen did not show any modifications so I asked if she heard me. Crickets. By this time I just wanted to leave so I pulled up and the workers stopped their conversation just long enough to swipe my card and hand me my drink. When I got home I looked inside and saw they had filled the entire cup with ice. My drink was gone in 3 sips. We live super close by so this Sonic is unfortunately our option if we don't want to travel any kind of a distance. Every single time, the customer service makes us think we are on a hidden camera show, like "What would you do?". This visit, we were graced with an open mic by the drive-thru operator, who literally couldn't figure anything out. No clue how to ring up items, when we ordered tater-tots, she asked back if we wanted a plain burger or a cheeseburger, then said it sounded like we told her "we are at a tree". I would select negative stars but that's not a option. This is the 6th time I have not gotten service either at the drive through or when parking. This time I pull up at 1pm Sunday the 24th of September. I pushed the button to order I was told drive through only we can't help anyone that's out front. I say there for 12 minutes I had 3 cars behind me one person was mad but I waited. See motorcycles don't register at drive through. So I went up to the window. I waited 5 more minutes and was told I need to go back through the drive through so they could get the other people their food... I had last week on the 21st I was in my van. I waited and waited at 745 in the morning. Nobody helped me. I pulled up to the window only to see a employee on their phone and when they seen me they went into the back of the store. I didn't see anyone for about 6 more minutes so I left I had to get to work.. my parents go to the same drive through and can never get anyone to help them. The food is mediocre at best. Their selection of shakes, malts and other frozen drinks is impressive, however; they are not necessarily cheap. Worst fast food experience to date!!! Soda had no flavor and when asked for a new soda they replaced it with another flavorless soda. They obviously didn't care about us as customers since they didn't take two seconds to replace the soda syrup. Our food was served cold with no forks or condiments to speak of. It took 40 minutes to get one small chocolate shake and one large banana cream pie shake. When reminded about the shakes all we got was a bad attitudes and rudeness from the staff. How would you feel watching parked cars and drive thru customers get their food and shakes while you have been told that they were just to busy to make shakes you ordered 40 minutes prior. I will not be returning to this location ever again and maybe I may pass on Sonic all together in the future. If I was the owner of this place I would seriously rethink how this location is run and who is running day to day operations. read more
