Good food items to choose from. Service is almost always friendly. Problem: Food is cold or at least not hot 90% of the time. Aggravating. It doesn't seem to matter if there are multiple cars in front of you in line or none at all. If there is a line it goes very slowly. Un-hot food is a big turn off. read more

Update: I foolishly returned to this location. I ordered three limeades and a small order of mozzarella cheese sticks. I pulled around and was told at the window that they HAD RUN OUT OF CARBONATION. They seriously need to get their act together. I pulled up in the drive thru at 8:50 tonight, after picking up some Panda Express. No one greeted me, even after me saying hello multiple times. So I pulled into a stall a couple of minutes later. My order was taken at 8:56, and I didn't receive my food until 9:20. This is completely unacceptable for a fast food restaurant. If I hadn't already paid for my order, I would have left, saving my frozen groceries and the now cold Panda Express. This is the worst experience I have had at a place of business, EVER. This started when my husband came to see me after work for our anniversary. I had gotten off at a time when a lot of food places were not open. We looked up online the hours for this particular restaurant. They CLEARLY stated that they close at 10 PM. We decided to run through the drive through really quick to get a fast dinner, and be on our way. By this time it was approximately 9:30 PM, which, granted, was getting close to their closing time. When we drive up to the board preparing to order our food I suddenly heard this God-awful screeching from behind my husband's truck. I looked behind us to find what I could only assume at that time was an employee. I heard her aggressively yelling at us (up to this point she had been lazily sitting at one of the outdoor dining areas, but the mere thought of an actual paying customer clearly set her off) that we had moved a non-existent sign and that they were "F-ing" closed (she did not use a word as nice as the abbreviation I used). I stepped out of my vehicle to tell her, which I did, that her behavior was extremely unprofessional to which she continued to screech in her obnoxiously loud voice that we had moved a sign that they use to close off the drive through so people don't attempt to get in line. Keep in mind, they STILL were not closed according to their advertised hours. I stopped engaging with the clearly unstable and lazy employee to go to find a manager to complain about the whole situation. I have never been treated like this in my entire life, and, just to be clear, we NEVER moved any sign blocking the drive through because there WAS NO sign. As I was walking around to the front in search of a manager, I heard a male voice ask me what was going on (this gentleman was one of the two people that actually showed some common decency in representing the place that they work). I proceeded to tell him that we never moved a sign, that we didn't know they were closed, and that I didn't appreciate getting accused of something that we didn't do and then also getting cussed at by someone who is supposed to be at their place of work. As I was explaining this to him, this completely unhinged employee comes up to us, against the instruction of the male employee who was telling her to go inside and to not engage, and acts almost as if she was going to hit me. By this I mean she was stomping and coming at me very fast, and made me extremely uncomfortable as she was not a small presence. She then proceeded to look at the male employee, tell him "No," to going inside (when he was clearly her superior), look at me and ask in a highly agitated tone "Is there a problem here?" By this point my poor husband is thinking he is going to have to step in to make sure I didn't get physically assaulted by her or even more verbally berated. The male employee tells me that he will look into it, after finally getting her to go away, and we get back into the car and prepare to leave. At that point I was so shaken from the experience I had just had, that I felt the situation rose to being brought to the attention of someone higher up, so I called the assistant store manager. The asst store manager told me that she, in fact, had been the one to move the sign, so we couldn't have done that as it was NEVER there when we went through. She then acknowledged that that particular employee has had MANY behavior issues, and that the situation would be addressed. She also said that that particular night they closed early, due to short staffing. (Which my husband and I completely understood, and would have had no problem with had it not been for the screeching girl behind us). All in all, I have never been cursed at by someone who works at a place of business I am attempting to give my hard-earned money to, I have never been accused of doing something I never did just because someone doesn't have the common courtesy to politely walk up and say they are closed, and I will NEVER be giving my business to a place that continues to employee such disrespectful people. The male manager and the assistant manager were both wonderful and kind, and did their best to rectify the situation, but the amount of vitriol I experienced from the one employee was outrageous and has made me uncomfortable going back. read more

Last night was my first time ever eating one of their cheeseburgers. And I regret it. I wanted to try their burgers as I've never had one before. I've been to sonic only twice in my life. The first time just to get things like mozzarella sticks, jalapeño poppers etc. (More fast food restaurants need to have things like poppers btw) and the second time which was last night. It was just a bad cheeseburger. Like the texture of the meat was kind of soggy, I don't think it was an "off day". It looked good, and smelled good. Like it hyped me up. Parked in a stall. 5 minutes later they came over the speaker and abruptly advised that they aren't serving certain stall #'s. Of course that included us, although there were no numbers on the stalls where we were and NO signs saying they weren't in service. Most of the stalls they WERE serving were blocked by a vehicle pulling a trailer which was parked sideways across them. Finally got moved to a stall where no one would answer the button to take our order. Ended up going through drive-thru. Bathroom was incredibly dark, dirty and there was no toilet seat. Almost every single time I go through the sonic drive through it takes around 20 minutes. Today I ordered 3 drinks, 2 on one card, and the third in cash, as they were for different people. Made it very clear when ordering at the speaker. 5 minutes later, I made it to the window and handed them the card to pay for the first two drinks. It took them 5 minutes to process the payment. Meanwhile they are making cash payments and handing food to the cars behind me in line. No communication or apology whatsoever as to why it was taking so long. I was more than willing to pull into a parking space so that I wasn't holding the line up, but when I tried to get their attention to suggest this, they didn't even look my way. While I love their slushies and other drinks, nothing is worth waiting forever in that stupid line. Done with this sonic. So freaking done. read more

We pulled up, could not hear the lady out of the speaker and she couldn't hear us so we had to yell. Than we got to the window for them to tell us they had no onions for onion rings. We waited in like for 20+ minutes. We finally pull away from the window I check our meal to make sure it's right and nothing was correct. We order bacon cheeseburgers with no tomato. We got no bacon actually nothing other than lettuce. We ordered two hot dogs one American and one chili we only got the American dog. Drive-in. It's a good thing they let you take your time to decide. When you're ready to order, press the red button on the panel. Their menu is extensive and I get the sense they are trying to cater to everyone. Ordered: Bacon cheeseburger toaster, fries and Strawberry shake. Took a while. I guess it means my patty wasn't pre-made. The 10-15 minute wait revealed a patty with a lot of fixings: lettuce, tomato, chopped raw onion, onion ring, pickles, cheese and bacon. No visual appeal but then no one looks except me. LOL. This thing tasted weird to me. Probably because of their French Fry sauce. I like ketchup. I didn't care for their sauce which had vinegar in it. Fries were good but then how can you mess up fries. I loved their shake. Natural flavor and not overly sweet. They no longer deliver their food on trays. Entertaining to watch some of their waitresses deliver on rollerblades. Maybe that's why they no longer deliver on trays! Looking for a lunch stop we spied Sonic near where we were shopping. We were in somewhat of a hurry so we chose the drive through. We put in our order and then waited...and waited...and waited. Apparently a large order in the vehicle ahead. When it was our turn at the window I asked to speak to the manager. I told her that it sure would be good if on large orders they would ask the vehicle to pull to the side so others could be served. She was incensed that I would make that suggestion. She was working hard and my inconvenience didn't matter. Then she shut the window on us. Our wraps were cold as was the tater tots. The wraps by the way were burrito tortillas not your normal wrap. Sonic was great when they first came to Medford. They had quick service and open late. We came here tonight and sat in drive three for 15 minutes with no line movement. We backed out and went to one of the order bays. Order was taken quickly but still sitting here waiting for ice cream nothing needing cooked and we have been waiting for 25 minutes and still no ice cream sorry 30 minutes. Friday night should be a little better staffed. Too bad it could be a cool spot. I have seen 10 cars come and then leave because line not moving. read more

Went through the drive thru and was dealing with a cranky 3 and 5 year old. I had my window rolled up at the speaker so I could handle them. When I was ready to order I rolled down my window and attempted to get their attention for a few minutes, even got out of the car to approach the speaker. I finally pulled up to the window and was told I needed to go back through the drive thru, which was incredibly long at this point. I asked if I could just order at the window, she said she stood there and heard her employee greet me three times, and then told me I needed to go back through. There is no way they didn't see my car and me attempting to order, even if they couldn't hear me since they hadn't initiated the speaker again. Fast food shouldn't equate to poor customer service, it would have been easy for her to just take my order. This is not a place we ever go to, and decided to try a quick meal with some tots while on a time crunch. I wish I could give no stars. The manager is one of the worst people I've ever met. I gave her a 20 my total was eight dollars and some change. She gave me back a dollar and a quarter and some pennies. I told her I gave her 20 she owes me 10 still. She got angry and short with me. Called me a liar. Didn't give me my food for 10 minutes while waiting. She said she couldn't pull up the videos or count her drawer so I was wrong and I just needed to leave. She finally gave me the $10 because I was holding up her line, I was not going to leave without my money. She threatened to call the cops on me got belligerent and rude. I didn't know what to expect when I got here. I think the only reason I went was because I see so many commercials I just had to go. First off I was forewarned by my fellow friends to not try the burgers seeing they aren't up to par, so instead I settled on mozzarella sticks and a strawberry slushy. The food itself was just good you can't really mess up mozzarella sticks and the slushy was good too. I notice they are more well known for their drinks as they should be. In all, on my next roadtrip to Washington I'll make sure I stop here again! read more

Ah, Sonic. The fast food place where you not only don't have to wait for your food, but you don't even have to leave the car to get it. Ultimate laziness ftw. I tasted the chicken strips, sweet potato tots, and onion rings. The chicken strips are sizable pieces. The sweet potato tots are very good without any sauce because then one can really appreciate the natural sweetness of the starch. The onion rings pass the test of tasting freshly fried, but not raw inside--I don't like it when I bite into an onion ring and end up drawing the whole strip of vegetable out of the breaded casing. One note is that I didn't really like the more special sauces they offered, including BBQ, sweet & sour, and honey mustard. Ketchup and regular mustard are probably safe, but for some reason the fancier dips all left a bitter aftertaste in my mouth. Similar to a lot of people, only reason I came was b/c of their famous commercials. This was my first time eating at Sonics. I pulled up to one of the parking slots, pushed the red button and ordered a breakfast toaster (texas toast with cheese/egg/sausage), fresh onion rings, and an oreo sonic blast. The breakfast toaster was meh, I suppose I should've ordered something more exciting. Their onion rings was good and I liked the "french fry sauce" that came with it which is something I've only heard of after moving to Oregon. It's just ketchup + mayo mixed together? Anyhow, it was pretty good. Then I had the oreo blast - it was more like...oreo ice cream but with bigger chunks of real oreo cookies. Only thing missing would be cherry on top of the whipped cream like they do with oreo shakes at jack-in-the-box. It was interesting to watch the guys bringing out the food on their skates while I sat in the car for about 30-40 min enjoying my food while staring at the road in front of me. I'm not sure if I would come back for their fast food style burgers in the future, but I might check out their slushy/specialty frozen treats next time. read more

First off, no fry sauce. Apparently ever again. Second, had no problem eating at one of the picnic benches four weeks ago located all over the property; however, today it was apparently not allowed. No explanation. No "do not sit here due to COVID" signs. Nothing. Just an angry employee who comes out half way through the meal to tell us, "terminal 20 is closed, you can't sit here." Well, we did not order from terminal 20 (of which there was no sign posted anywhere to indicate it was closed). We went through the drive through and were trying to sit at one of the many picnic tables on the property to eat, outside, social distanced from all human beings. Either put up signs, or let your patrons sit at your numerous outdoor seating places and not harass them (especially before storming off so they can't ask you questions) - that's what they're there for.
