Sadly I don't buy fudge often and I rarely crave it, but I was happy that they have it as an option for those that love it. This just means I have to visit them again and try a bit of fudge. The ice cream line was a bit long because they make other cold treats, too. It's all good because we didn't have a lot going on and was thankful they were open that day, so I was patient. The family and I were visiting Natchitoches for the weekend and of course thought of getting a memorabilia of some sort. I'm not that big of a shopper and don't like collecting things. If you're into that sort of thing... they have a bunch of trinkets that you'll like! The ice cream was definitely worth the wait. I just wish I would have gotten more scoops because it was a really hot day. It's close to the river and other fun downtown eateries and establishments. We both went with one scoop: my wife chose the Michigan Pothole, which was super chocolatey and loaded with tasty chocolate bits, and I got the butter pecan in a waffle cone--and wow, that was a huge scoop! Both ice creams were creamy, rich, and absolutely delicious. We also picked up a Sky Bar, which is such a cool candy bar with four different fillings in one! I stopped in during the seasonal flavor changeover, so they were running low on a few options. The server told me they were restocking the new flavors the next day. I was hoping to try the vanilla lavender, but I'll have to save that for another visit. Instead, I went with the butter pecan crunch, which the server said is their best-selling flavor. It had a rich, creamy texture, though I thought it could have used a little more flavor. The richness was just on the edge of being a bit too heavy, but it was still a good scoop of ice cream. As I was leaving, a large family was enjoying ice cream together, and it reinforced the feeling that this is a neighborhood spot locals genuinely support. I always enjoy finding local ice cream shops when I travel, and Wild Honey is worth a stop if you're in downtown Longview.
