RUN AWAY I went to this Sonic location on 10/4/22 after arriving at GSP. We ordered a #1 combo with tots, a Supersonic double cheeseburger, no ketchup, add mustard, and a chicken slinger. The tots were inedible and looked like they had re-fried a couple of times. The chicken slinger was old and dried out but I ate it. The Supersonic double had two small patties and one larger one. All three were very old and dry. They obviously just used whatever was laying around. There were not other toppings except mustard and KETCHUP. This experience cost $18.06. I have contacted Sonic twice and was told both time the someone from corporate or the store would call me, they haven't. A few weeks later I received an email giving me two free cheeseburgers. The problem was not the cheeseburger. Is it just the cheapest burger or the least cost? Very poor food quality, and no customer service. read more

My husband, daughter and myself went to get some dessert from this location he had a chocolate shake my daughter had a sundae and I had a sprite with sweet cream and strawberries. The chocolate shake was literally green and tasted sour and my sprite was brown and chunky on top. My daughters was so bad I let her aunt taste it and she literally gagged. Sonic was fun and novel when it first opened. The food is still decent. But the service has deteriorated to the point that I almost never go. They frequently make mistakes on orders; leave stuff out, add extra items that weren't ordered, and do a sloppy job of food prep. Pictured is a Butterfinger Blast I got recently. There was a dusting of Butterfinger on top. But it was just a cup of vanilla ice cream. We still stop by occasionally for their wonderful ice by the bag. Pulled into a stall and pressed the red button. Waited 10 minutes, and still no voice over the speaker. So I backed out and pulled to the drive thru. I ordered. When I finally got my turn at the window, the smell rushing out from in that kitchen smelled liked a disgusting combination of dirty grease and bad body odor. I had to spray febreeze in my car and then drive with the windows open for the rest of the day to get that rancid smell out of my car. When I got home it was still in my nostrils. Even after I washed out my nostrils with alcohol swabs, I could still smell it. Nasty! I cannot believe the corporate office let's this location stay open. I've been going to this sonic for years! 10 years ago it was the place to be! Amazing food, shakes and service. Now...its absolutely terrible. I used to come here every weekend, now I'd rather drive 30 mins to somewhere else. Was second in line at the drive thru and was there for over 30 mins!!!! That is just insane to me! There were 2 other cars at the little pull in spots and no one at the outside window so it's not like they were busy. I said it last time I wouldn't come back but I gave it another shot hoping it would be better....it's not!!! This is a great place to come to during the summer and sit on their deck eating ice cream or a shake. They also have a drive up and eat. Order from your car and eat there. Must be the norm for fast food restaurants to serve inferior food..Used to be a avid Sonic fan when I lived in Florida..but these two locations in Spartanburg and Duncan have made me say I won't be returning..after not returning to Sonic after a bad experience in Hillcrest two years ago, I decided to give them another try.. Yeah, it was a mistake..came to this location in Sumcan..hoping for decent food at least..I ordered the #3 supersonic bacon cheeseburger with tots and a lemonade. After takings little over 15 minutes to receive my order..I was expecting it to be hot and fresh..I received the opposite..the tots seemed to be cooked in grease that wasn't hot enuff..they were not crunchy or warm at all..just soggy grease bombs..the meat on my burger was also lukewarm..so much so the verse wasn't even close to being melted..it was also burnt and still has grill stuff on it,, one strip of bacon on it was so burnt and crunchy and hard like they just forgot about it and said let's serve it anyway..the lemonade however was very refreshing and good..but this is my last visit to sonic for a long while.. read more

My husband and I went to sonic around 10 to get an ice cream. We pull in the drive in and waiting then she came on and said drive thru only. Then we tried to order and either she wasn't listening or just didn't care but we had to repeat ourselves 6 times And we just order a strawberry sundae and a strawberry milkshake. So then we paid and he asked if we wanted a receipt and then we said yes and then he said oh no the receipt machine been broken all day. Then we get what we ordered 7.50$ by the way and it was runny milky not ice cream and the Sunday was in the tiniest cup I'd ever seen. No wonder why we don't frequent sonic very much. Poor service and even more poorly made food. They were 6 people in there standing around Acting like kids and not working at all. Don't think I'll be back. A couple weeks ago, I went to Sonic and they decided to test my patience. When I got to the restaurant, I pressed the call button as usual, and the screen said that someone would be with me shortly. No one came. I decided to do an online order. No one came. When my online order finally went through, I got charged twice for my meal ($45 x2). I spoke to the manager and he said there was nothing he could do about it except give me a number to call. My food still wasn't ready. I waited, and waited, and guess what? Waited some more. We knocked on the door for service, yet no one came to wait on us. There was a server going back and forth to different cars, giving the people who had gotten there way after us their orders, while continuing to ignore us. We knocked some more and finally got the manager out there again, "We're getting your order ready now," after I had been told this numerous times. Cars kept coming and going, getting their orders, getting waited on, while I still had no food. No joke, I waited for my order for a total of 2 hours. When we finally received our order, we still hadn't gotten all of our food, the burger that we ordered had everything on it EXCEPT the bun, and the manager continued to tell us there was nothing he could do for us. Not to mention he "couldn't refund my money" and he would NOT give me a receipt. The lady beside me had the same problem, as she had gotten there after us, knocked on the door multiple times, and also waited for at least an hour before she decided to go through the dive-thru so she could actually get her food. If you go to the Sonic in Duncan, I guarantee you that you will not be satisfied. UPDATE on getting charged twice: my credit card company refunded me my money back, NOT Sonic. read more

Waited a total of 20 something minutes between the drive up stall and the drive thru, never got to leave my order. Will not ever go back. I can find places that want my business and my money enough to take my order. Super slow & can't get our order correct, EVER! Whenever the order is wrong & I have to drive back to get it fixed & they act like it's no big deal that I have to get back in line, waiting Hella long while the rest of my food is getting cold. The only reason I don't check my order while there is because I ask while at the window "please repeat the order, you're sure this is correct"?!!! And there is usually a huge line behind me so I feel pressured to go. This occurred in Mid-May, just completing the review now as it apparently never updated. I bought a bacon cheeseburger combo. The bacon was crispy so YAY there but the burger was overdone. The tater tots were cold. I also purchased a medium Oreo cookie blast. Which turned out to be basically just a cup of vanilla ice cream. There were a few small pieces of cookie in it. It appears they ran out of cookie topping, gave me the few remaining crumbs and still charged me 4+ dollars for it. I won't be going back. We have visitors from out of town and it's been a running joke for a few days that we needed to get Sonic Blasts. First attempt was on a Friday night just before 9PM. We were informed the blast machine was down and went home disappointed. Second attempt was a Tuesday night at about 9PM. We were greeted by a store that was closed. All lights off. It was NYE so we were bummed but understood that maybe it was an early night to allow the staff to celebrate the new year. Third attempt. Wednesday at 5PM. Pulled into the stall and pressed the button. Full of excitement about our much desired ice cream we had our list ready. And we waited. And waited. And waited. After 15 minutes of watching the screen tell us we would be greeted soon we decided that maybe we would have better luck in the drive thru line. We pulled up and placed our order. There were three cars in front of us but the line moved slowly. Once we got to the window we were given our total and paid in cash. The young man working the window seemed new so we tried to be polite and patient as he grabbed our change. We waited long enough after this with no further interaction that we joked about going home and coming back the next day when they had our order ready. Finally our order appeared. 6 Blasts! We had to request a drink carrier as they attempted to pass them to us one by one. Finally, we had our treats. We left the drive thru at 5:43. We got home a few minutes later and everyone dug in. We were all excited that we had ordered our treats with extra candy mixed in. Only we were disappointed again because there was a minimal amount in the top of our ice cream. Assuming the rest was at the bottom we each began mixing the rest of our treats only to learn there was no candy at all aside from the thin layer at the top. We ended up having someone go to the gas station to grab the candy we had asked for and mixing our own in. After nearly a week of buildup we are all really disappointed and unimpressed with our experience. I can't say I'll be very likely to go back after the outcome of our "successful" visit. read more

I have been to this Sonic two times recently, and was extremely disappointed both times. First off they are clearly understaffed, because the wait to give your order is unbelievably long, not to mention how damn long it takes to receive the food. Second, the two, or three employees this shithole has employed are rude, they clearly don't want to be there and probably get paid less then a homeless man. For example, I recently ordered a burger with cheese, mustard, and tomato, only to find no toppings at all, after waiting in line for twenty fucking minutes. Another example was when I ordered the popcorn chicken with honey BBQ sauce, only to discover no sauce on the chicken. This place is about as goofy as Mickey Mouse's fucking Clubhouse, and I bet I put more effort into taking a fucking shit than these employees do at making some stupid ass food. Unfortunately the lowest rating I could give this clown house was one star, but if I could rate it the way I really feel, I would give it a -69/10. read more

The food is always good but this place is ran by kids. I have only been to this particular location about 5 times in the past years but I've never seen and adult in there. This leads to very poor and slow service. Just now, I ordered a Oreo blast. There were 2 cars in front of me and it was 23 minutes from the time I ordered till I got the blast. read more

The service is always polite but the problem is with the way some employees handle food. I will not be back for a while because the last three times I have eaten there the employee working the drive thru window has: 1. Constantly rubbed their nose with their fingers 2. Picked at the skin on their face 3. Used the cup instead of the ice scoop to get the ice for beverages with their dirty hands. The owner needs to totally reeducate the staff in food handling.
