Great service best tailor in town alterations done while you wait. Not a big chain cleaners personnel touch.

excellent prices, lots of washers and dryers, never have to wait. machines always working.read more

I went to the Hooksett Laundromat for my seasonal comforter washing, decided to take the 2 loads of…read morelaundry I had along with me to save time. The laundromat itself is old fashioned, but clean. It has all of the amenities you would expect... change machine & laundry vending machines. The reason for the 1STAR was the way I was treated by the staff there. I used the BIG machine for my comforter, loaded it up & moved on to the next load. When I was loading the next load the 1st machine started bubbling over I did my best to stop it, putting more fabric softener & cleaning up all the bubbles before completing the rest of my loading. Everything seemed all good so I walked next door to the thrift store to take a look. I was gone no more than 15 minutes & when I returned there was a puddle in front of the 1st machine, the one that had bubbled over All of a sudden someone overhead is yelling "MAM" and tells me that the machine overflowed & asked if I put pods in the upright machine? I said I had, to which this person overhead told me to read the sign above the machines.... There was a maybe 14x20 inch sign above the machines saying not to use pods in the uprights ..... oops, I hadn't seen that. I apologized & thought that was it. Was I wrong.... The little man on the intercom kept at it, yelling at me about putting pods in the upright, telling me now someone had to come in to clean... I offered to clean, but was told to leave it be. When I went to pull my comforter out of the machine the little man yelled at me again to get away from the machine, "don't step in the water" which I was not, I was leaning towards the machine to get my comforter out. I told him he didn't need to yell at me, I get it, I made a mistake & was sorry. About 10 minutes later, I was sitting listening to my book on tape & a woman came with a ladder in a bunch of towels to start cleaning the puddle. She approached me and asked me rather forcefully, did you put pods in the upright? To which I replied I did I hadn't seen the sign and I'm sorry. She continued the conversation with telling me you can't put pods in the upright, now it's jammed and she has to fix it. I again apologized and asked if she would like me to clean it up, it was certainly an accident and I did not mean for the machine to overflow. This woman said no I'm going to clean it, but you can't put pods in the upright. I replied point taken, it won't happen again, and went on to listen to my book. About five minutes later, the same woman approached me to show me the pods that were in the upright and scolded me about them not being allowed in the uprights! I again, apologized and asked her to leave me alone, as it was an accident and it would not happen again. This woman continued to harass me about putting pods in the upright machine until I basically told her to stop harassing me that it wouldn't happen again as I would not be back. This woman needed to make a point and make me feel little, she kept on about the pods. At that point, I told her to leave me the fuck alone, that I do not come to the laundromat except to wash my comforter, and I fucking wouldn't be back. I told her she was not my mother, She was not my employer, and she did not need to talk to me the way she was. I had made a mistake and I was sorry. At that point, I walked out of the laundromat because I didn't want this to turn into something more, it did not seem like this lady was going to leave me alone. I know I was wrong in putting the pods in the upright machine, but it was an honest mistake. The sign is a small sign and it is above all of the machines, it is not noticeable it just blends. The way that the staff at this laundromat badgered me about my mistake was horrible and I will never go back there. Do as you will with this review, as I know that some will think that I did wrong, but be careful they're watching you too!!! Maybe the management of this laundromat should think about signs that are colorful so people are prompted to read them. Also, they could purchase some sort of guard to put on the machine that you place over the detergent chutes so that pods don't fit down in there. But in the end, they should just be nice!
