My review is both for a personal energy healing session and a nonprofit retreat facilitation-- both were fabulous and powerful. Personal energy healing session: A newbie to reiki, I expected a lot of deep breathing and perhaps a relaxing meditation. Instead, Song immediately validated that she saw I was "cerebral" person (a euphemism for skeptic maybe) and offered that this may be because [*describes a nuanced childhood memory*]. She told me that my throat chakra was off because I used to feel powerful as a young person, but something chipped away at my power (dead on). She said she saw my inner child speaking to me, which otherwise would have sounded like entertainment level information to me, but she called me by my childhood name. Okay, this could have been a gamble, but truly a risky gamble because it's not a common variation of my name and I had actually forgotten my family called me this. Then she said she saw me holding a frog. I was SHOOK. Frogs were my childhood obsession so there is a distinct childhood thread not even my closest friends knew about. Other pieces that struck a chord (in a good way): she knew what line of work I would be drawn to, rare phrases I had been using, and even relationship backstories with family she couldn't have possibly known. Aside from the intuitive conversation thread, the healing piece of the process was fascinating to me. I left in happy tears and excitedly told a friend over dinner how light I felt. It is a very Western lens to be skeptical of an ancient practice, but I was so deeply grateful to have discovered a link to something so meaningful and helpful given my heavy line of work. Nonprofit retreat: Fast forward to me planning a wellness retreat for my work team. I knew I had to introduce Song to other people who were working in my emotionally heavy field. She was so responsive in the planning phase, offered a menu of options for our needs, and when she arrived she didn't even check in first--she immediately joined us at a bonfire and played games! Song led an intriguing talk about the energetic body, introducing us to a whole new world of healing techniques. She shared background on her gifts, and invited us to participate in a meditation and attunement. After a failed attempt at psychotherapy, a series of catastrophic interpersonal events, and months of struggling at work... I recognized that the root of all my issues came down to my struggle and near inability to verbally communicate. The thoughts were there but translating thoughts to words and having the confidence to express them felt damn near impossible. Desperate to clear my throat chakra, I booked an energy healing session with Song. As this was my first time working with a spiritual healer, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little bit skeptical going into the session. I didn't know what to expect and I didn't have a personal referral to go off of (I found Song on a Google search). Still, I went into the session with an open heart, open mind, and trust that Song was someone who could help. During the session, Song felt a lot of activity in my crown chakra (which makes sense since I was having trouble expressing all the thoughts). She also tied a "cord" from my solar plexus chakra to my throat chakra in hopes to helping the flow of things. Immediately following the session, Song asked how I felt and I responded with, "sleepy". She said usually people feel lighter and energized after her sessions which alarmed me a little bit. This review was long overdue. I had my very first session with Song not too long ago once I felt I was reaching a spiritual awakening. I would like to go about this review in two ways. Song deserves five stars because she has a beautiful, clean, and peaceful environment to do spiritual work. She also deserves it because she is very informative on how the spiritual healing works with every technique being used. She has gifts that have touched people's lives and brought healing to many places in my own family that I haven't seen happen in the 20+ years of therapy myself and my family members have been going to. Although therapy has helped immensely, gifted spiritual healers have a very special connection to heal places that the individual may not realize needs healing. As much as I have been diving in to the spiritual community, I've had my doubts and reservations. I have gone to 6 sessions with Song. Each of them were different. I have been blessed to be able to meet with her because I would take the approach of talking to her about things like I would a counselor. Instead of just feeling like it was nice to talk to someone and have some sympathy or understanding (which I did feel), she was able to bring techniques into my life that I needed to bring peace and healing into my life. I like to think I wanted to delve into past lives and talk to the people who have hurt me in my life who have passed away, but this is not what I truly needed. I was also thinking about trying to destroy my inner child for a long time during this span of 6 sessions I've had with her. I thought that would make more sense since, IMOP, it was keeping me from being who I needed to be. In my reality I needed my inner child healed. With my sessions with Song I have come to find that she is blessed to be gifted with healing abilities that reach places I didn't know needed it. I first heard about Song and her practice when my family booked a medium session with her in order to connect with my grandfather who had recently passed. At that time, I did not participate in the appointment, but my family came out blown away by the comfort and accuracy of how the session played out. Fast forward a year and half later, I am on a vacation in San Diego with my family and decided to confide in them that I was having personal struggles and did not really know where to turn. My sister suggested that I should book an appointment with Song and at that moment I decided to book an appointment for Energy Healing and Guidance before I could think twice about it. As the day got closer for my appointment, I tried to maintain an open mind and get rid of any internal hesitation or resistance I was feeling. As the session began, Song's calming presence quickly put me at ease. Her patience allowed me to open up as the appointment went along and I was able to uncover a lot of emotional distress that I was holding onto. Much of it was surrounding the passing of my grandfather, since before, during, and after his passing and funeral services, I was placed in a caregiving role that eventually led me to forget how to take care of my own emotional struggles.
