Every time we would walk around the loft, it felt like you were about to go through the floor. The toilets didn't work well...you had to hold the flusher down for long periods of time. My husband went immediately to the front desk and they refused to move us. The next morning corporate was called which the lady was very concerned and equally upset as we were. Women beware. I should've checked in when I first landed earlier in the day but I've never had any safety concerns while checking into a hotel at night.. You get what you pay for really set in this time. I checked in at 10 pm after spending time in the city and was given a room where the sliding glass door just pulled right open, latch didn't hook.. Red flag because there's men walking around the property aimlessly (one was just watching as I got out of my car). I go ask for another room and was offered a dirty room.. She eventually said she found another room and I go to that room to find the front door literally propped open so I didn't go in. I ended up sleeping in my car until I flew back out the next morning. With all of the stories of front desk agents working with trafficking rings, I wouldn't be surprised if they're on the news next. Shame on Sonesta corporate office for how they treat safety concerns at their locations. read more

It's a hotel equivalent of camping. Except for more dirt and bugs. Room service is non-existent. However if you bring your towels they will exchange them for dry ones. That is, if they have them. A cup full of crap was left on kitchen as a welcome. I will avoid place in the future. read more

Absolutely disgusting!!!! Do not stay here!! RUN!! I am in shock at how disgusting this hotel is. Our first room had trash on the floor, a dirty cup on the counter, smelled like smoke, coffee grounds on the floor and counter, no toilet paper, dirty toilets, one unmade bed, everything was stained, and zero trash bags with trash in the cans. We switched to another room with dirty floors and trash on the floors, everything stained, Bathroom light not working, dirty mirrors. We switched to a THIRD room!! No tv in the bedroom, hair in the toilet, EVERYTHING STAINED, microwave/lamp/and refrigerator all didn't work, no utensils or pots, no trash bags. We tried to find another hotel but the entire city was booked due to several big events happening over the weekend. I asked for a vacuum and was told they don't have any. I asked a second time and was told I would have to come back later and see if they could find any. Finally, my husband went down and demanded a vacuum cleaner and one was brought to us about an hour later. I cleaned with my own cleaning supplies and the vacuum for over two hours! My husband asked for a tv, the guy said he would have one delivered in the morning. The second night he went back to ask for one and the lady at the desk told him no. The second day I asked for change for a dollar for the laundry and was told no also. I called Priceline and they could only offer me a 15% off coupon for another stay. My husband talked to the front desk and one guy offered him one night of compensation, bringing our bill down to $520!!! The customer service is awful, front desk lady is zero help, managers are nonexistent, the place is absolutely filthy!! Also the smoking. Oh my word the smoking. Everyone in Ohio comes to this place to smoke cigarettes and weed. Everyone smokes in the pool, on the balconies, around their children, in front of doors. There are signs that say no smoking all over the property but again it's something the staff does not care about and people are free to do whatever they want. Please, if you have children, or enjoy a clean place to sleep, please don't stay here. I'm still in shock at this whole experience. And I'm completely in shock at how expensive this was ($720 for three nights) and how no one is taking responsibility or being transparent and honest and good hearted. This place had great ratings which shocked us considering the FILTHY conditions we discovered upon arrival. We had 3 rooms offered the first two toxic mold awaited us and all three rooms were filthy. I attempted to check in but the sensitive little punk behind the desk overheard my private conversation and because of his insecurities he somehow took it personally and refused to check me in. First room they gave me was in the back building labeled Sleep lab. Room was run down poop stains still in toilet bed had urine stains. Crumbs on the pullout with crayons and brown marks. I called they gave me a new room after saying they were 100% booked and the 2nd room was worse! Black mold, stains on wall and the bed sheets and bed had urine stains that matched each other. The fact that this location allows dogs was one of the main reasons we decided to stay. The pet fee varies based on the number of nights you stay but we were thrilled to be able to bring our dog with us. As mentioned in other reviews, these rooms have kitchens and a small living room. We loved the amount of space we had but agree with earlier reviews about the bathroom being small. We didn't have time to try any amenities but did stop by to grab breakfast in the morning. It is currently packaged in to go bags and included a muffin, a breakfast sandwich and orange juice. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again in the future. read more

The experience was highly distressing. A woman's actions significantly disrupted our family trip originating from Philadelphia, PA. Law enforcement was involved due to her behavior, and the responding officer quickly identified the individual in question. It was evident that even the manager was hesitant to confront her. The incident arose when she became agitated that I selected "yes" on the keypad instead of indicating my husband's name (whom she claimed the room was under). This ordeal has been exceptionally challenging. I intend to request a copy of the video footage through legal channels as there were concerning undertones of racism present. Disappointing return to Sonesta Suites Having stayed here for family gatherings since it's opening, we have enjoyed the great townhouse suites: clean suites, well-equipped kitchens, and good supply of towels, etc. This past stay, the kitchen was nearly empty, towel supply minimal, and we had to ask for a second roll of toilet paper! Beyond that, the floors were dirty and dust was everywhere. That said, front desk staff were friendly and responsive. The WORST place I've ever stayed. Thought we could overlook the stained carpet everywhere, broken lamp plugs, missing towel bars, trash sitting outside the room, outlets that didn't work.... Then our last day the air wasn't really working and we discovered the unit had cardboard holding it together and then pulled out the sofa bed for our son to sit on and play and I almost vomited. This place has gone downhill. Reserved the suite w/ loft. Room was not clean at all. Crumbs all over the floor. First floor bathroom not clean. Refrigerator not clean. Air vents not clean. The list goes on. I believe these rooms are supposed to be smoke free. Wasn't the case here as we were met with a strong cigarette smoke smell. Hotel grounds not well kept. Saw filled garbage bags on the grass piled up. Went to the front desk to address the issues. The staff wasn't rude but they gave us the shrug shoulders, not in my job description, what do you want me to do about it reaction. At that point it was evening hours and the best they offer was cleaning service next morning starting at 10am. They were willing to offer a refund but warned us that all other hotels were booked within a 50 mile radius. First time staying with Sonesta. Definitely a unique experience having an entire apartment like feel with a kitchen and living room. The pool and jacuzzi was a nice amenity to have. My only gripes were the wifi and bathroom. The wifi was extremely weak and kept dropping every couple minutes. The bathrooms are extremely small. When I say small, I mean there's barely enough room to open the door after taking a shower. For some odd reason, the sink is extremely short as well. I'm 6 ft tall and have to bend over to brush my teeth. Other than that, I was quite pleased with the stay here. read more

Checked in on June 5... first room had small blood, stains and specs of dried blood on the bed, sheets, pillowcases and foot of bed, unflushed commode, & black stains, or dirt on hand towel. The floor appeared to be on vacuumed. Went to front desk and moved rooms without any issues. Room 2: there were roach trap boxes underneath the kitchen sink that still had roaches in them, and some alive. There were stains on the carpet, they were feces in the commode, a broken lampshade, and dried paint splattered on the kitchenette floor. I have not received my money back and I canceled for the following 2 nights & was charged for all three nights. I have never received a phone call or email back regarding my complaints or concerns. read more

Large room in a great, quiet location. These appear to be old townhouses/condos/apartments converted into motel rooms which can easily serve as extended stay or just an overnight stay. Full kitchen, dishwasher, coffee pot and a sitting room. Comfortable bed. Minutes from the highway to get wherever you need to in Cleveland. Didn't have time to use the exercise room, pool or tennis court but they look nice. Fair price, felt safe. The only downside I saw was the bathroom which is incredibly small--barely enough room to get in and close the door! There are dual sinks outside of the bathroom though. read more

I reserved a room a week in advance on Booking.com, when I arrived at the hotel with my kid and dogs after a 13 hour drive, the front desk clerk said the reservation wasn't in the system, and refused to do anything to resolve the issue even after I showed her the confirmation email. She claimed the hotel was fully booked but the parking lot was empty. Not only was the front desk clerk horribly unprofessional and apparently useless, she came across as lacking in humanity, which is not a good look for the guest facing staff of any establishment. When I called to see why they had not refunded my card, the manager Dianna was rude, impatient, and very unprofessional. She would not let me finish my statement before interrupting me to tell me I was wrong. She had very poor customer service skills and as much as I enjoyed my stay, I will never refer or suggest anyone stay there until I am guaranteed that the management staff gets training. A lovely, affordable hotel that, while not the most amazing experience I've ever had at a hotel - is extremely amazing for the price point. It's clean, in a decent neighborhood, has good staff, and the room itself is spacious, comfy, and calming. The free breakfast wasn't very good, and it can be a bit confusing to navigate at first, but easily a 5-star experience for what I paid. NOTES: -Free breakfast here. It leaves a lot to be desired. -Rooms are in individual buildings (12 buildings, total, I think?). You'll go straight from the outdoors into your room. There's cover on the doorways themselves in case of rain. You can park very close to the door of your room. -Located pretty close to lots of chain restaurants/food/shopping. -Rooms include fully-equipped kitchen. -Seems recently updated? -I did not use the housekeeping services, pool, free internet, or gym. PROS: -Room is absolutely gorgeous. Ab-so-freaking-lutely gorgeous. Bright and clean with blue highlights. Judging by the photos here on Yelp, it looks like they've recently updated all of the rooms. The exterior building appearance leaves a bit to be desired, but it's not terrible. Inside the rooms, though, it's gorgeous. It was entirely clean upon check-in. -Price here is definitely affordable. I think I paid $90 a night for weekend nights. Seriously. For this price, the room is magical. -Staff was fantastic. I was hoping to receive a cancellation on one of my nights with no fee, but they weren't able to process it. Regardless of that, they were super friendly about the entire thing, and the employee I worked with was willing to throw it all the way up to the management chain to try to make it happen. -In-room fireplace is beautiful. It appears to be electronic, and it runs on a timer. Set the timer for as long as you want, and poof! -In-room kitchen should have a good chunk of what you need. It has two place-settings worth of dishes (for the King bed room) (two cups, two plates, etc.). There's a coffee pot (coffee provided), dishwasher, full-sized oven and stove, and fridge/freezer. A fully-equipped kitchen. It had basic prep supplies like a measuring cup and bowl too. Worth noting: no to-go cardboard cups provided in the room. You can't make your coffee and take it to go wherever you're going. They have them in the free breakfast area, though, in the lobby. -Room is pretty well, roomy. Lots of space to lay out and be comfortable. You won't feel claustrophobic here. You get a lot of space and seating area too - especially for the price. You'll have an entire fully-equipped kitchen (including dishwasher!), a small kitchen island (with no chairs), a three-person couch, the bed itself, a one-person chair. No tripping/falling over items either. Very nicely spaced along with lots of easily-accessible outlets for charging devices. -Water pressure and water temperature in the shower was fantastic. They also provide a ton of shampoo/conditioner/body wash in those neat in-shower dispensers. Taking a shower was enjoyable here. -Hotel is located near lots of things including a major road. Easily walkable to Max & Ermas restaurant. A bit further, and you'll hit Starbucks, McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, Taco Bell, and more. Lots of large chains are located within a 5 minute drive. I think there's a mall nearby too. CONS: -Rooms only seem equipped for two people for a single day (in the King bedroom rooms). Only two clean cups, two clean plates, two clean towels, two clean bowls, etc. You'll either need to run the in-room dishwasher to get more clean silverware and such or head to the front desk to get more clean towels. Adding settings for four would be a minor addition on the hotel's part, but it'd ensure you wouldn't run low on needed essentials. -Room could use more natural sunlight. There's only two small windows. Windows do have black-out curtains, though, if you need to sleep in. -Morning breakfast left a lot to be desired. When I came to breakfast, it was out entirely of bread products (no bagels, bread, donuts, etc.) despite the fact that there was all sorts of knives and jams right next to the area. There was no milk. Food looked like it'd been sitting for awhile. I didn't see any staff around replenishing the supply, but when I walked by the kitchen, I saw three employees sitting on the kitchen floor texting/playing on cell phones. It's possible they were on their first break, all at the same time, at 8:30 in the morning, but I'm not thinking it's likely. -Initially figuring out the building you're in can be difficult. While some of the 12 (I think?) buildings are clearly marked with the building number, some of the other buildings aren't clearly marked and/or there are trees in the way of viewing the number. This might mean a bit of trial and error or walking around the property to figure out what building you're in. However, ample parking around all of the buildings, so you'll likely be able to park right outside your room. read more

Pictures used when booking the rooms are not true. The rooms are so filthy, and rugs are insanely dirty. The first room I was given had yellow ceilings and reeked of cigarette smoke. I am asthmatic and went to the front desk to let them know. I was told well if I give you another room," I can't say it will not be the same. She then said people are not allowed to smoke in the room that is a 250 dollar penalty, yet there were 100 cigarette buts on the ground. She went about doing her work as if I wasn't there, so I walked out and sat in my car with my kids looking at me. I had nowhere else to go, so I went back inside and told her I have to cancel because i can't stay in a room where i couldn't breathe. She told me I can't cancel there is no refund after what felt like eternity She said zo me let me find another room, couldn't she have done that in the beginning. I have never felt so upset and disappointed to be treated the way I had been treated. My kids and I will never be going back to this place. If you have children this is not the place for them between the smokers and nit to mention the amount of other smoking nit cigarette smoke that is being done at this place it was a nightmare. I originally had a reservation at another hotel and after reading some very horrifying reviews, decided to cancel. Upon looking at other places to stay in the area, I decided to try the Sonesta ES. For the price of a tiny room at some of the competitor locations, we could stay in this cute little apartment style room. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to see how adorable and clean the room was. Everything looked like it was recently updated. The decor was modern and very cute, with pastel shades of blue and yellow along with gray and clean bright white. The gentleman who was running the front desk was very nice as well. We only stayed for one night because we were in town for a funeral, but our room was super cozy and clean. I would definitely stay here again! read more

I stayed here for two nights while visiting Cleveland for the Pharoah exhibit at the art museum. As a vegan I always look for places with kitchens so that I can prepare my own meals. I booked here based on that and the fact that they had recently renovated. Overall I was very impressed with this hotel The hotel is located in a good spot, just off the highway but off a side road so is not too much activity. There are a lot of eating and shopping options in the immediate area with a Chipotle, Olive Garden and others less than a mile away. The check-in process was fast and efficient and the gentleman helping us was friendly and welcoming. There is an eating area right off the lobby where they serve breakfasts and the occasional evening social gathering with food. Outside the eating area are the pool and hot tub and a full basketball court. The room is excellent. All the rooms were renovated in February 2016 so everything is fresh and looks wonderful. The kitchen appliances in my room were older models but they all were clean and worked perfectly. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, dishes and pots and pans. Also have a toaster and coffeemaker. The bathroom is also clean and new and the shower head has wonderful massage settings and the water pressure and heat were always excellent. The bed was firm and offered a very nice sleeping experience. The TV is a new large LCD model that swivels so you can watch from the bed or from the living and kitchen areas. It provides the basic cable options and HBO. The check out process was likewise fast and efficient and with friendly service. I will definitely stay here again should I find myself visiting Cleveland. read more

So..... pool closes ar 8pm, SHARP! Housekeeping made the bed with the comforter against the bed and then top sheet on the outside. Maintenance just paints over issues. Would had left and found another hotel, but we were forced to stay due to a softball tournament that was a stay to play deal..... You have to ask for towels and other essentials. read more

When we first got there to check in the guy at the front desk was talking to his friend on his cell phone he told him to hold on and checked me in with his friend on the phone on the desk listening to all my info. When we got to the room it was filly there was a chicken bone in the hallway outside there door that stayed there for 2 days. For some reason the bed was made up with the sheet on top of the comforter. It has a kitechen in it (one of the whole reason I picked this place) but there were no pans or untincles in the room. They only gave us 2 towels when we asked for more we were informed that they have a shortage of them and was told to bring the dirty ones back to be washed. The bed was so hard that my wife could baily move the next day. It says on the web site that breakfast is included but on the paper of the rules it says they do not provide breakfast. It also says you have to take the trash to the dumpster yourself or you will be charged $25 read more

Enjoyed my stay over Labor Day weekend. Hotel was what you hope for...quite, comfortable bed and clean. Love the apartment style setup which makes coming and going a breeze and non of the "hallway" noise you get in hotels. Staff was friendly and airport shuttle was convenient. Area was nothing special but seemed safe. Main complaint was breakfast was not good and very crowded over weekend. Weekday breakfast was much better without the crowds. Bathroom is very small, as I was aware it would be, but clean with good water pressure and drainage. Maid service was efficient and good. Overall not a luxury place by any means but served my needs and would stay there again. read more

We stayed here before when it was a Residence In. So we were familiar with the room layout we wanted, a loft unit with room for the kids. Be warned if it's cold out and the furnace is running the lofts get Hot! Like open a window when it's 6 degrees out hot! We ended up with an open 2 floor window and a fan running to make it possible to sleep in the loft. Housekeeping was hit or miss. When it snowed they shoveled the sidewalks but not the outdoor steps to the units. We asked housekeeping to come back later one day later as we were just getting out when they arrived, and instead they never came back at all so we had overflowing garbage, no clean towels, etc... The breakfast buffet is good for this type of hotel with several hot options as well as fruit cereal etc. WiFi worked well. Staff we interacted with was friendly including the housekeeping guy who said he'd come back but never did. read more

Last time I was here the dishwasher was beeping because the had ran the dishes. I called the front seat and they apologized and walked me the two steps to reset it. It worked and 2 min later a maintenance person stopped by to make sure it was turned off. Nice! Breakfast is GOOD . But the evening snacks are not great quality. But the hang space is really nice and inviting. No restaurant there are two within walking distance and many more within a 2 min drive. It makes my work trips much more relaxing than a small cramped room where I can tell you the brand of aftershave my neighbor is using! read more

Key card never worked and staff acted like they can care less and they made me go out in the rain at 4 AM to go and get a new key from them. I found this hotel to be quite nice. The suites are clean, spacious and well appointed. The kitchen includes an efficiency range, small dishwasher, large microwave and descent sized refrigerator (with ice maker!). The bed was a bit on the hard side, and I usually prefer firm mattresses. I also love that pets are welcome and the entire facility is non-smoking. As an added bonus, there are numerous places to eat and shop nearby. On the down side, the WiFi -- a thing that was once a rare luxury but has become almost more important than the bed -- was weak. It is the poor signal strength that is keeping me from giving it 5-star review. read more

We saw this online and thought it was adorable. We get there and are greeted very warmly. The room itself is very nice. Its basically like a studio apartment, equipped with a stove and a dishwasher as well as cooking vessels and utensils. I would give this 4.5 stars. Breakfast was ok, no breakfast meats or potatoes.... Didn't try the pool as it was chilly in the a.m. Did like the fireplace in the room. Room also comes with a 10 cup coffee maker but I will bring my own coffee next time. The room was very clean. We took a chance after seeing it on booking.com and boy were we impressed, they're in the middle of renovations so the rooms don't look so outdated like most of the pictures on this site. They also didn't have Internet when we went but did provide us with a phone for a hot spot and it streamed Netflix without any issues. Staff was incredibly nice. I checked in for less than 12 hours to get some sleep on 7/31/21. When I checked out, I noticed an additional $100 room charge on my credit card. The front desk said the charge was a mistake and would clear in a few days. It did but reappeared on 8/10/21. I was told it was for a smoking charge but I don't smoke. And, I hadn't been there in 10 days! Today is 8/21/21. I've yet to be refunded. I've been getting the run around from a supervisor named Diana. I'm so disappointed. My family and I really enjoy Sonesta properties. After this experience, we'll never consider them again. read more

Sometimes the room we get is a little rundown, but they have recently remodeled and things are looking better. Our rooms have alway been clean and housekeeping comes on a daily basis to straighten up. The penthouse is an upstairs/downstairs suite that offers plenty of room for 2 adults and 3 kids.The staff is really awesome- we've never had any rude encounters with anyone there. The kids love the pool in the summer. The free breakfast isn't huge, but has both hot and cold options and it sure beats spending a ton of money each day to feed a large family! read more
