He initially claimed it was left at his office and later he gave it away. I was his client since 2021 and I stopped to go to his salon any more. My first time at this salon went splendidly:) I was introduced by Groupon and I'm so glad I did. I was in dire need of a haircut since my hair was overly processed from previous salons/my own at home bleach sessions. Jessica Rodde was my stylist and all I told her I'd like to trim my split ends and get rid of some damage. With that she confidently trimmed my hair and added some layers and my hair looks refreshed! She recommended some products I could get through Amazon for my porous hair. I'm going to take her advice and buy them. I'm not much of a social talker at salons and she seemed to understand and made me feel comfortable. So far, I am extremely annoyed with this Salon and I haven't even been able to make an appointment. I purchased a Groupon for a cut and partial highlight and have been calling the salon for 3 days trying to schedule an appointment. I've left voicemails and called repeatedly but no one answers the phone. When I finally got through to someone they instructed me to call a DIFFERENT number for Groupon appointment scheduling. This is a huge red flag to me that they have no intention of treating new referrals from Groupon the same as their regular customers. Yet another voicemail later (shocking), I still have no appointment with this salon. Update: A few hours after leaving a voicemail with the "Groupon appointment scheduling line" I receive a call back and am told that I can ONLY schedule appointments with this individual on her dedicated line Monday's for the upcoming week. Since today is Wednesday, I have to call next Monday and IF they have availability, they will fit me in. The fact that I already called on Monday and received no response, not their issue. WTH?! Talk about having to jump through hoops to get a haircut. If this is how you treat first time customers why would we EVER come back? I purchased a $45 group on ticket that included a cut/style/highlights with Antonio B. My overall haircut and style was what I wanted, however Sonash gets a 2-star because I noticed some problems when Antonio was cutting my hair. Antonio is a great stylist. He cut my hair the way I wanted it (when I showed him a picture.) Yet, I explained to him that I wanted to add purple highlights to my hair, and he replies with "we don't carry that color". Seriously? Why doesn't a HAIR SALON carry odd colors? They should regardless if its a rare choice. Anyways, another problem was; right in the middle of styling my hair, Antonio suddenly stops and apologizes to me, mentioning that I have to WAIT (which was about 30 minuets) for him to cut/style some OTHER lady's hair from a later appointment. I tell him okay, even though I've never been told to wait before while my stylist works on another client. When I was waiting, another lady gets upset and starts yelling at Antonio because she's been waiting for 45 minuets for somebody to cut her hair! BTW, Antonio gave a little bit of attitude to me because I mentioned that I really didn't want him to rush through my styling because of the other woman (who eventually got up and walked out of the salon, cause nobody was there to help her.) Sonash either double-booked themselves or totally forgot about this woman making an appointment in the first place. Which gets me to think how unprofessional these Sonash stylists are. Bought a Groupon and made an appointment for Caitlin this past Saturday. Upon entering the salon, the ambiance was abstract meets modern. I had to wait for a little bit since Caitlin was finishing up with 2 clients, but I did not mind at all since beauty takes time. I came in not knowing what to expect, but came out pleasantly surprised. Caitlin did a wonderful job on asking and explaining what to do with my hair. IWe decided to tone my hair from my previous balayage and had my hair trimmed for split and dry ends. I love how Caitlin used multiple round brushes to blow dry and style my hair. The end result was fantastic with my hair with volume and looking radiant. Caitlin even offered a discount for a friend and me for the next time I get my hair done. The blow out she gave me was also great, I'm on the 3rd day and it still looks good. She gave me a card for a discount on the next cut which I just might use. I've been salon hopping for so many years it might be nice to stick to one stylist for a little while. The salon is right up the street from Trader Joe's in the more industrial area of 17th street. There is plenty of parking and the salon itself is modern and cheerful with a friendly vibe going on. Caitlyn's prices are on par with what hairdressers charge in this area. I ended up waiting 40 minutes, and still the one guy in there doing hair had just started highlights on a girl who was waiting before even I got there! Ridiculous! Okay, I got my haircut in June...mid June. The day of my trip. seriously, i was flying out in a few hours on my vacation, but i needed an emergency haircut, and bc of Groupon, ended up at Sonash. Booked my appt with Antonio. I understand why people would get up and leave if they've been waiting for 45 minutes. I wouldn't wait that long unless i was being fed pizza & ice cold coke! :D Luckily, that did not happen to me. I walked in, he sat me right away and we began. I explained what i wanted. I guess I never knew what my hair was capable of until I met Soner last December. Like most hairstylists I've been with he came highly recommended so I figured ok, same old pretty little do. When he was finished with me (6 inch "root" touch up, 4 highlights, toner and haircut and about 7 hours over two sessions later) my hair was transformed from everyday to runway. I couldn't believe my own before and after pics. I've got Mediterranean dark unruly curly hair, which means most hairstylists have trouble figuring out what to do with it. I've always gotten the generic layer do which leaves me with little glamour when leaving it naturally curly. I've always straightened my hair for events because he alternative never looked good for a night out. That was BEFORE Soner. Now I never straighten it, I rock my gorgous golden not too coppery locks at major parties and it's the talk of the night! Seriously, I wish I had met him when I was 18 and self conscious. His coloring technique, his crazy runway cuts, his perfectionism makes for a salon experience you've never had before. I promise. Getting the Brazilian blow out here was the best!! About a week before headin to the tropics for a vacay/photoshoot, I panicked in realizing my hair would likely 'fro and it would look very not cute in photos! Well...I'm just frustrated with how my hair has come out. I've spent $900.00 on my hair with you these past couple months with Lauren, and I've lost close to a foot in length. I truly believe my hair was over processed. The first time I came to her was for red over my previous colors. It didn't show through. I was trusting her expertise to believe that it would look red. Then it washed out the next day, and she said it was permanent. Paid $150.00 in total for red. I then came back to you for a color correction, and my hair melted off, then she proceeded to cut off the melted part around 5 inches, due to the over processing. I understand that there is risk to bleach but I just wish she could've processed my hair to the point of leaving it intact, and not stringy and gooey. I paid $420.00 for that. Then I came back to you a third time for the second full highlight, and then asked for a temporary pink. She proceeded to bleach my hair then it became "dreads" as her and I called it at the salon. The pink didn't stick to my hair and it was all splotchy and a mess. My ends were completely a mess, melted, and over processed, I told her to cut it off, because I truly could not see us being able to salvage the knots. About 8 inches. Then she recommend me to just tone it brown, where I agreed since my hair was destroyed. I left paying another $300.00 for her to melt my hair and I payed all this money and lost so much hair all just to end up in going back to brown, and coming back because the brown washed out. Then I paid for the red dye and it already has become very faint. I don't mean to be that customer because I truly liked her work, but I'm just so frustrated with this outcome. I asked to be refunded for half which would be $450.00 but she declined and gave me $330.00. I certainly will most definitely not come back after these horror past experiences. read more

I've been with Soner since he was at Jose Eber's in South Coast Plaza as what I believe was the head stylist -- at least I know that he provided training for other stylists at the salon and has some well-known clientele. Long hair and updos for special occasions is one of his specialties. In addition, his wife is a phenomenal make-up artist and is available for appointments. I will not see anyone else for my soft bang cut which flatters my face; that seems to be an art that few stylists have mastered. Sonash is in a somewhat unsuspecting business location and is very private; Soner doesn't need marketing signs as his reputation and word of mouth sustain a very loyal customer base. The cost is very reasonable given the quality of the service and the satisfaction knowing that you're going to receive an excellent detailed cut. Soner has pictures of his work on models which are available to view both on his salon wall and in a private portfolio. It's not necessary to go all the way to Beverly Hills to visit Jose Eber, Orange County has its own hidden talent at Sonash. read more
