Love Johnny!!! She has been our baker for my son's birthday parties for year. Her baked goodies are are so good. We have tried so many other bake shop from NYC to Hawaii. We still love Johnny's. Her cupcakes are so moist and great flavors we think that being a small bakery- there is quality control compare to like sprinkles. I stopped here on a whim, passing through on my way north. I was looking for an interesting bakery on the route and came across this place. I pulled up to the shop and was pleasantly surprised to see they are a winner of Cupcake Wars! To me that's a big deal, so now I was excited. So I get inside, and at around 12:30, they are almost sold out of everything! That's not a negative, I should have known better, this is onenof those fanTastic places where everything sells out quIckly each day and so you need to get there quick and with a plan! I ended up trying orange dreamsicle cupcakes, which I had never had before but again, I had limited options being so late to the party. Well, they were fantastic! Who knew that was a good flavor for a cupcake. This is a must try place for sure. read more

I'm a big foodie and I'll be honest, while I love sweets, I don't eat them often and I prefer savory, meat and potato dishes. So, it isn't often when I find something that I'd term life-changing! Because, let's face it, that's pretty extreme. Right? Well, I saw a post on Facebook the other day about this place having a Buckeye cake. The photo alone was enough to make me want to hop in my car and drive the 40 minutes to get one. I made the mistake of not doing that and I missed out on an item that apparently sells out within just a few hours of its existence being announced! Since I was going to be in the area the very next day I figured I might be able to stop in and it might still be available. No. Didn't happen. Will never happen. So now at least I know the next time I see it I'll just have to go get it. All this means is that there is now still yet another potential life-changing item out there that I may experience in the future! The current life-changing experience is the NY Black Out cupcake. This by far is one of the very best cupcakes I have ever had. I stopped in late in the day yesterday - what you see is what you get and all they have left. They bake fresh and sell out..... I can see why they sell out. I'm really glad I don't live closer..... Here's what I got: A raspberry ganache, orange creamcicle (both which I haven't tried yet today) but I took a picture of them and posted it. A black out (which, in my opinion was to die for!) A white wedding (the cupcake part was absolute perfection but I shaved a bit of the frosting off the top - just a personal preference - chocolate = the more the better; white or buttercream frosting = just a thin layer) A sweet potato casserole which was awesome with a cup of coffee And a chocolate buttercream - that I got talked into giving to a friend..... so I didn't get to try it but she sent me a note saying "That was awesome!" So, now i have to go back and get a chocolate buttercream some day. Everything is beautiful. Including the owners/staff. Such attention to detail. Beautiful creations carefully constructed & proudly displayed. This is definitely the place I'll go to when ever I need to order cookies, cakes or cupcakes. You will probably see a line forming outside their door, before their 10 am opening, because it's hard to resist their quality, baked, sweet confections. You'll find a different assortment of cupcakes, cookies, cake, pies every day. I've sampled everything from a mango habenero cupcake, to decadant 7 layer bars, to chocolate pecan pie, to loaded carrot cake. They always have classic offerings like chocolate cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies. And, their Banana Pudding IS better than grandmas!! The store is spotless, and the customer service is attentive and friendly! If you are anywhere near Curtis Road in Port St. John, Something Sweet is worth the trip! read more

They have THE ABSOLUTE BEST peanut butter cookies I have ever had in my life. Many delicious, decadent desserts. Very rich icing so if you're not a fan of true sweetness, the iced options may not be the best for you. Nonetheless, still delicious and there's pretty much something for everyone to enjoy.
