I would advise anyone even 'thinking' about purchasing furniture here, to take my advice and go…read moreelsewhere. I've been stressing over whether or not to write this review because of how disgusting it is - but because of the severity of what they did, and my belief that they KNEW what they did - I'd be a horrible person if I DIDN'T write this review. So I'd gone to several furniture stores to purchase a recliner. I was getting frustrated because every store I went to said I couldn't take a recliner the day of purchase - I had to wait for them to order one. There were several of my family members with me and I just wanted to go home, but it was then that my son pointed out Aaron's and said we should go there. I'd never heard of Aaron's and had no idea what it was - but he insisted, and so we went. It was a nicely set up store and had a good selection. I noticed that there were many people in line at the cash register. So many in fact, that that they were sitting on the furniture near the cash register. I also noticed that there were at least 3 people in the office behind the register, but not one of them came out to help move the customers through the checkout process. I later found out that the gentleman behind the register was the store manager. So we were all looking around and I didn't see anything that I liked when suddenly my son says, "Hey mom - how about this one?" It was an oversized recliner, not quite as large as a love seat, but close. It looked lovely. My 6'4" son sat in it and it actually looked like it fit him! That encouraged me. What really got my attention was the price! It was clearanced for just over $350!! I went to the counter and 'sat' in line for probably 20 minutes or so. I paid cash, and he told me to pull up to the front door. They loaded the chair and we left. We had to stop a few miles from the store to readjust the chair and when my son got back into the truck he said the recliner "smells like dog p*ss." I started laughing at him, thinking he was just being silly. But he kept insisting. I told him he was probably smelling something like Scotchguard or some other fabric protectant. We continued driving and I had to stop at the bank in Eupora (which is about 40 minutes from Aaron's). It was a warm, sunny day and I swear that as I walked past the bed of the truck, that I smelled dog urine! I figured that what I was smelling was the same thing that my son was smelling - and it definitely smelled like dog urine!. I wondered if someone had had their dog in the store and it p*ssed all over the recliner, after all, it WAS a new recliner. So I go into the bank, do my business, and when I came out I deliberately paused by the recliner to see if I could still smell it and to my surprise I couldn't - all I could smell was a disgusting floral type of smell (you know, like when someone sprays air freshener after taking a dump. It doesn't get rid of the smell, it just makes it smell like a floral dump and that's when you begin hating the smell of air fresheners!). I get into the truck and tell everyone that I can no longer smell dog urine, but something more like a gross flower-type smell. That's when my son said he sprayed air freshener on it, trying to get the dog piss smell out of it. I was mad because I figured they wouldn't take the chair back now that he's done that because it could have stained the fabric. So we get the chair home and we were all totally overwhelmed with a brand new recliner that smelled of dog urine! My son called the store and told them that the recliner smelled of dog p*ss and he asked them if this was a used piece of furniture. The man he spoke to said yes. My son then asked why they didn't tell us we were purchasing a used piece of furniture and he said they never tell you that, neither do they post signs warning you that you could be purchasing a used piece of furniture. At this point I became enraged. So this store manager not only sold me a used piece of furniture as if it was brand new, but it also had been p*ssed on by a dog and they thought this was totally acceptable. Then we noticed that it had several burn marks on the fabric and one of the wooden pieces on the back of it was broken, literally in half and the company thought that was just fine. Buyer beware. If you purchase furniture from this store you're as much of a fool as I am. How is this even legal?!!
