I just want to give the biggest shout out to the manager, Mrs Kenya, she is a saint. The way she's…read morealways there, always happy to help out and answer any questions you have. If something is wrong, she'll jump to make sure it's fixed, she'll even make sure to call you personally and see if it's fixed to your liking. The maintenance team is phenomenal, and Caleb at the front desk is always there to answer your call and help however he can. 100/10 best place in Starkville.

The storage closet outside had the same lock as the keys we never got and we put a request in multiple times over a span of months, going up to the office, calling, emailing, you name it. They ended up coming out 4 months later to pry it open and said they would be back with the lock in a week and never came back, so we just had stuff sitting out there with no lock on the first floor (anyone could break in). The "inspections" they do, they tell you the day before they are going to come in. You have to pay $20 just to get you packages delivered to the parcel lockers. The "southern hospitality" is not a thing with them, any of the events they would just sit there and talk amongst themselves, not even trying to talk to their residents. The pool is basically closed half the time for "Maintenace", and they would never email when its open back up like they said they would. When moving out we hired cleaners to come in and clean the apartment because there move-out checklist is ridiculous. We didn't get any of our deposit back, they charged us for tiny little stains in the cabinets, $50 for a piece of paint that came off of the door onto the floor, and $30 for a little dirt in the sink. The apartment was cleaner when we left than when we moved in. I do not recommend Crossgates in Starkville at all!!! It's not worth the money!

[July 2024] Do NOT move here. Do NOT give them your…read morebusiness. I have had multiple friends go through here with horrible experiences. 1.) Late on repairs: multiple instances of prolonged exposure to heat. Temperatures in the apartment would easily reach above 88 degrees - I've had to let them crash at my place multiple times for multiple nights because of how long the apartment complex took to send people out to repair. This has happened for at least three years now. 2.) Absurd late policies: my partner was told at the beginning of the summer she would be able to mail her key in and do a mail-in move out form. When time came to mail her key in and do the form, they tried to refuse to let her mail the key in, and said it was "against their policies" to do a mailed form for move out. No reason other than the insane fee they were trying to impose on her - $100 every hour the key was not turned in. Given that she was 10+ hours away from the complex, had been given verbal confirmation she was good, and was unable to simply pick up and head that way, she was in a pretty rough state until they finally decided they had enough fun verbally abusing her over the phone to let her mail them in anyway. (Note; this $100 an hour late fee is nowhere in the lease, we would have brought it to court had they actually went through with it) 3.) Dirty apartments: The apartment was disgusting upon move-in. Must be nice to charge residents for not cleaning up their apartment at the end of a lease, just to not clean it for the next tenant, yeah? We spent an entire day just cleaning the bathroom and the bedroom, and I won't even mention the disgusting things we found in the kitchen. TL;DR Yugo/21 Apartments are money hungry and do NOT care about the residents whatsoever. The only thing going for them is proximity to campus.

Why does it take 4 times to dry a small load of clothes? Did we get a credit on our account NO! But be late with rent a they charge you a late fee. No respect for the tentants. There has been four different managers since we moved in. That should tell you something.
