My brother passed away suddenly and without warning. Our family was devastated. I wanted to order a big arrangement of flowers for the funeral. Honestly, I checked their website a couple times and saw pictures of the beautiful arrangements that they offered. I just thought I could order them online without a problem when I had a moment to sit down to do so. Apparently, it's a mistake on my part to wait until two days before my brother's funeral to order the flowers. When I sat down to do the order online, in smaller print under the pictures it says that you have to call for the pricing. So, I called. It was a Saturday at 11:40 am. I didn't realize that they were closing at 12:00. If it was such a problem that it was late to call in an order, they should have said "I'm sorry it's too late to take this order". But they didn't. Peggy who answered the phone was impatient, seemed bothered that I was asking questions and was down right rude. I never ordered flowers for a funeral before and I was in grief. I did have several questions. My bad, I guess. Peggy was rushing through our conversation and was bothered that I had more questions. Again, if she didn't want to take the order - she should not have. Peggy said that it was the weekend and that they might not have the flowers that I wanted in because they were not having any more deliveries before Monday. I replied "that I understood but please do what you can and if you could, could they steer towards white and light blue flowers". However, in my mind I could only accept what they gave. I was in grief and wasn't thinking straight and I thought that I did wait too long. I felt I had to order these flowers right then and there because I was afraid that if I went with other florists that I would not be able to get flowers in time for the funeral. I had some questions about what the flowers would be in and the pricing. I had a question about adding a ribbon with the word "Brother" on it. Peggy responded with impatience and rudeness. Apparently, I was on speakerphone, because there was also a voice behind her telling Peggy how to answer me. Both of them were so unprofessional and so short with their responses, it made my grief a hundred times worse. In the end, because I wanted a big display of flowers for my brother, I ordered $200 worth of flowers arranged on an easel for the viewing. I will say the flowers were pretty, however I do not think they were worth the $200 I spent on them. read more

The level of care and attention to detail that Angelo provides is impressive, to say the least. I was a first time customer. It was Valentine's Day. What all that I'm sure must have been going on in the flower shop that day, he took the time to call me when they could not deliver and patiently stayed on the phone while I tried to call myself, and then allowed me to redirect the flowers to the pharmacy where my girlfriend works in another part of Philly. He even knew where it was without my providing the address. The flowers were beautiful, the arrangement was breathtaking, it was great value, and I'm told even the delivery person was very sweet and nice. After I placed an online order, I received a call from the florist that they would not deliver it unless I paid an additional $4 on top of the product cost, the delivery fee, and taxes. I had already ordered, paid for, and received a receipt confirmation for the $36 order. They decided to cancel the order and hung up on me. Their reasoning was they will only deliver an order of $40 or more, despite the fact that they offered something else on their website and had already accepted the order - credit card information and all. read more

Rose's for my mom were pretty. There was a bit of a mix up with delivery but they made good with there guarentee.

Will never use them again or recommend them to anyone. Could not supply what I asked for and made something smaller but charged the original price. Was told they were going to change the arrangement, but never told the price would be the same. It did not make a good show the way it was done and when called and asked about it was told it was a rush order. How many people do you know that get advanced orders for funerals? Would not even consider any credit because it was a smaller arrangement. Not very customer oriented or willing to work with you. Look elsewhere for your flower!!! read more

Unprofessional, deceptive, angry and utterly rude! At least that one guy was when I called to inquire why the elegant bouquet I selected and paid for was changed into a tacky, cheaper supermarket version with inferior quality flowers and much much inferior (nonexistent) arrangement. Instead of saying "sorry, " or explaining that maybe they delivered the wrong bouquet or sent me a wrong pic of the tacky arrangements, that guy went lunatic on me on the phone and hung up! No discussion. No apologies. No explanations. Then he called again from a different number with verbal abuses. What kind of business is this? Another reviewer apparently was also hung up on as I saw below. Apparently, that guy thought it was okay to change my order all on his own for his own cheap convenience while still getting paid for a better service! In other words, it's okay to cheat customers after they've paid and expected decent services then it's okay to insult them, yell at them and hang the phone on them when they call to check what happened to their order!! This is beyond weird. It's unethical. I order flowers all the time for family and friends to celebrate different occasions and never experienced anything this crazy. I must clarify that when I placed my order the lady I spoke with seemed fine. It's that nutty man who claimed to be the owner and refused to give his name, "None of your business," he said, when I asked for his name. He also said "You must be hard at hearing," when I expressed shock at his furious demeanor. Yikes. Gross customer service. read more

My husband has gotten a few arrangements for me from Something Different in Flowers over the past few years and they were always very nice. I ordered an arrangement for my mother's memorial service this past April and was very surprised at what I received compared to what I paid - it was a small arrangement for $150. Angelo explained that the type of flowers I chose (calla lilies) were very expensive - fair enough. I decided to give them another try when I ordered an arrangement for my father's service last week. I asked for a fall arrangement and said I'd spend $100. When I went to pick up, I was in a rush and having a terrible morning (as anyone who has lost 2 parents in one year can probably relate to). Angelo asked me if they looked ok, I said they were fine having many other things on my mind. When I went to place them on the table at the service I really looked at them for the first time. For $100 plus tax I had gotten 6 roses and some carnations. I was very disappointed. My husband called to say we were displeased (he did not ask for a refund, just giving feedback) and Angelo was defensive and rude. He actually called me out for being late picking up (20 minutes) and said that he had asked me if they were ok, I said fine so too bad that I was unhappy. It's not even so much that this place is overpriced, but the poor customer service, especially at a difficult time, is what will keep me from ever using Something different in flowers again. read more
