Stayed on the phone at the front desk without opening the glass slider and acknowledging my presence. Waited over 45 min. for a nurse to escort me into a cubicle exam room where she proceeded to quiz me on a 12 page (!) questionnaire. Explained that I was there for a second opinion...not to become a patient. She insisted that I needed to be "in their system". MD came in, telling me that I was NOT wanted as a patient as I was unco-operative. Ha. This experience as opposed to getting a second opinion from a Morristown Mem. gyn/cancer MD. A welcoming OPEN receiving desk. (Not that US VS THEM sliding glass divider.) A smiling nurse escorting me to an open office with a conference table for a second opinion meeting...NOT an examination cubicle. An intelligent and perceptive MD discussion about my case. Very, very different from the Seth Rubin where the ' MD makes all the rules' approach is from the last century. No sense of 'we are a team' at Rubin's. Very unpleasant experience there. As a kicker - he told me he was NOT going to CHARGE ME for his time. What an ego. Expect that if you are a placid, submissive person he and his poorly trained staff will be acceptable to you. I want my monies to go to a team player who is trained in the SERVICE of medicine, since after all, practicing medicine on patients who desire your services is how they make their livings.

I have never had a doctor spend more time with me. He is very knowledgeable in both holistic and conventional medicine. I find this combination very important. He has also educated me on different aspects of my health including the value of different types of blood tests, diet and exercise. Anyone looking for a more personalized approach to their healthcare I would start here.

Dr. Fleming has told me to take something that wound up making my initial symptoms worse, only for Dr. Jean to tell me that the medication he told me to take would make those symptoms worse. Their communication in recent months has been lacking. They do take time with you when they see you, but Dr. Fleming just reads results to you for bloodwork as he gets it during your appointment. There's just something not as good anymore as when I only occasionally went before the membership fees started. It's too cost prohibitive and I told Dr. Jean about something delicate that was causing me pain and she said not to do that, but it was something essential. I went to other doctors to help with that issue instead, although Morningstar says that they have these services under one roof. Respectfully, they need to tighten back up in a lot of areas. Admit when you're not sure instead of give unhelpful answers that leave the patient feeling unheard. Refer your patients elsewhere when necessary. Communication amongst staff has also been weak. One tells you that Dr. Jean does pelvic exams, but her answers to pelvic pain aren't there. She doesn't know and doesn't make any move to refer you or do an exam. There are other napro doctors around. Staff also has said numerous times that so and so would respond in x timeframe and it's always something where I feel like I'm chasing down answers whereas they say how they take your membership fee so they can serve you better. It's not better.
