This was my first time having my hair chemically treated at this salon. Teri was the person provided my services. I requested highlights. I am accustomed to receiving highlights with a foil application. Teri stated she was going to use a cap and pull my hair through it. I told her I had found it not effective at getting the color to the scalp. She said " I can get it to the scalp." I asked if the fees were the same and she said yes, $120.00 wait her way. She insisted on the cap, so I allowed her to use it. She instructed me to hold the cap ties down and not tie the cap. I had to hold the ties the entire time she pulled my hair through the holes. The results were just as I had told her, I had obvious area where the color was no where near the scalp, especially in the front hair line. My original hairstylist does her business by appointments, and this particular morning, I was rushing to have my hair done for a wedding. Walking in, I didn't feel welcome. The lady scheduled for my hair came in 15 minutes late after I was already rushing. Being biracial, I felt as though my hair was an issue. The manager and her daughter were both on my hair pulling and tugging it with the wrong brush that was clearly wrong. The straighteners they used were also very used. My hair came out frizzy and big rather than sleek and straight. I walked out of there ready to cry. I called my original stylist and she fixed their mistakes. Choose your SALONS WISELY. Had an appointment yesterday for a shampoo/cut/style, color, and eyebrow waxing. I walked in and the lady was nice (I assume the owner/manager, believe her name was Terri). I explained what I wanted, showed her photos. The color I wanted was a rose gold. She explained that because my hair was dark brown she wouldn't be able to do the exact color but said she could do something similar. Unfortunately what I got wasn't similar at all. I also asked about making sure my eyebrows could be colored to match/be the same tone and was told that I want my eyebrows to stay darker than my hair because if they did any color to my eyebrows they wouldn't be visible. She cut my hair to the right length then did weave highlights, then put I assume a color/dye on my hair and immediately rinsed it out. Normally the shampooing is my favorite part but this one felt rushed and was not relaxing at all. She and her daughter Shay blow dried my hair and once it was dry she thinned it as I'd requested. The thinning felt rushed too and wasn't as thin as I wanted. They finished up and it did not look even close to what I wanted. Afterwards she explained that for the color I wanted I would've had to start with red hair then highlights. I was also asked why I even wanted the color I'd chosen. I have since spoken with different stylists who all said that they could've gotten my hair to the color I wanted much more easily. I left disappointed and called back to see if there was any way to fix it. She said we could try a red wash - couldn't promise what it would do but it was possible it would be closer. I went back in and was told it would be extra for the wash. She rinsed it out and asked if I wanted her to blow dry it or if I wanted to do it myself b/c if she blow dried it again she would have to charge me again. I decided to do it myself. Once I was nearly done and my hair was just damp, she told me she was done with her other client and didn't have anything else going on so she could finish blow drying and straighten my hair for me. It definitely turned out a little redder, but with more of an orange tone than a pink/red tone. It unfortunately also darkened the highlights I'd gotten to the point where it almost looks like I didn't get any at all. She said it will lighten up after my next 2-3 shampoos (I'll be sure to update this review after that) and be closer to the color I asked for. I called the next day (today) and explained that I was just not happy with how my hair turned out, and asked if there was any way I could get a partial refund so that I could go to someone who specializes in color and get my hair done the way I'd wanted it. I explained that I've spoken to three stylists who told me they could get my hair to the color I want pretty easily and without "frying" my hair - which is what the lady at Someone's Looking told me would happen if I tried to get the color I wanted. She refused any form of reimbursement and then offered to white wash my hair to bring the color up, but she told me it won't fix it. She claimed to have told me originally that it would've been a process to take my hair to red then to the color I wanted and that I told her I didn't want to do it that way - which was NOT the case. She explained the process afterward, and I told her that had I known that and had she explained it that way to begin with, I would have done it that way gladly. When I explained I was told by other stylists that they could do the color I wanted and it be an easy fix, she scoffed and asked me how much I wanted to bet. I thought that was very inappropriate and unprofessional - especially when only a minute or two later, she made sure to state that they are professionals and that there was not a way for me to get the color I asked for without bleach and damaging my hair. I declined the white wash, since she told me it would not fix it, and she said she'd let me go then and hung up the phone. Shay waxed my eyebrows and did a wonderful job. She was very thorough and made sure that they looked perfect. She was able to get them as thin as I wanted and give me a good arch. I was very pleased with my brows. The haircut itself also turned out very nicely - it's the length I wanted, and the layers look very nice. Unfortunately, the most expensive part of it was the part I'm unhappy with. I also didn't appreciate that the stylist did not seem to care or understand why I was disappointed and unhappy, and was condescending. I felt judged for the color I chose, and I feel like she did what she wanted to my hair instead of what I wanted and instead of just communicating and letting me know she couldn't/wouldn't do the color I wanted. read more

Shay cuts and styles my hair and she is wonderful. She is the only stylist I've found (in Tupelo or elsewhere) who cuts my hair exactly like I want it. I've changed cuts numerous times and she nails it every time. The atmosphere there reminds me of the movie "Steel Magnolias". read more
