Linda, aka AgentDiamond, was an unexpected God-send in my diamond ring search process. I decided to reach out to her after noticing a featured profile in a food blog for someone with "diamond ring consultant" as am occupation just as I was "in the market". After a few bad experiences I felt I couldn't lose by reaching out to her. I must say I could not possibly write a more glowing review of her service and my experience with her. If you are shopping for a ring you've probably done a lot of research, gone to the fancy jewelery stores like Tiffany, Cartier, Harry Winston, perhaps even met with your friend's "diamond guy", used all the web retailer and search tools to get the best price/quality ratio, perhaps signed up for Rapaport weekly pricing service, studied the 4Cs and beyond - this is great - but I can honestly say you will save yourself a lot of time, money, and piece of mind by using a "girl" named Linda - someone who clearly has more clout with Diamond wholesalers than your friend's "guy". Let me just say this - the diamond business can be very, very dirty as I learned the hard way from going to a friend's "guy" in the diamond district (chances are he ripped off your unsuspecting friend and is now living off his referals) - you need an independent consultant to navigate through the process so you don't get covered in grime on the other end. There is no doubt I got the best deal available anywhere and I also got a product of amazing quality and Linda was there every step of the way. I never met with anyone without her (including the diamond wholesalers, the setting manufacturer (they can do anything), jewelry cleaners, engravers, multiple appraisels), no sales pressure, she created a custom webpage for me which had all of my ring ideas, a 3D rendering of the ring I designed, prices of various diamonds I was looking for, styles I liked, etc. In addition, she even helped me locate a very rare silver engagement ring box online that I had spent hours scouring the internet for on my own to no avail - something she wasn't even getting paid for directly or indirectly which is truly the sign of someone who takes pride in their business, cares about her clients and wants to help you throughout what is typically a stressful experience (believe it or not - my biggest fear throughout the process was not being able to present the ring in a nice box by not buying in a jewelery store such as Tiffany, Cartier). When you get it appraised you will be in for a shock at the "retail value" of the ring - rule of thumb it's just under 2X what you pay for it going wholesale and this is not a scam as I had it appraised at various renowned institutions - the higher appraisel affect the insurance premium you pay - generally 2-3% of appraisal price depending on your State. When I got my fiancee's ring I was very impressed with the work quality and my fiancee loves it and gets inundated with compliments about it wherever we go. Just when I thought my experience with AgentDiamond had come to a happy end my fiancee received a very nice Bridal magazine subscription in the mail as a gift a few weeks after the engagement, a week or two later a beautiful engagement gift (a jewelery holder shaped like a tree with two birds), and a few weeks after that she received a special instant diamond cleaner which works wonders in a pinch. I am probably forgetting a few things too. These are really nice gestures and is a rarity even in the luxury retail world. When it became time to get a wedding band I didn't hesititate to use Linda again and she came through. Her fee is included in the price of the ring - I never got billed for anything seperately (cleanings, engravings, appraisels, etc) and it still ended up being more economical than the best prices I was seeing online at Bluenile and I didn't have to cross my fingers that a disgruntled Fedex employee would take off with the ring. I would recommend AgentDiamond to anyone and everyone unequivocally for not just engagement ring shopping but for anything else diamond related. Looking ahead at holidays, birthdays, anniveraries, Valentine's days - AgentDiamond will find herself on many future missions.
