This is an updated review from 2022. I have been working with Karallyn for nearly four years. Note that while Karallyn performs wonderful acts of service for many women--she has an intuitive manner of working with men as well. This is my testament to her capabilities. In addition to the comments I made in the spring of 2022 - and I offer them below at the end of this March 2026 review - you'll be able to realize tremendous benefits from working with Karallyn. Most of my work with Karallyn has been remotely performed. Karallyn is gifted in her ability to draw upon a wide variety of her own experiences, training and knowledge. This review is long overdue! Kara is truly a magical Soul! She is AWESOME!!!! I have had many a massage in my life, and Kara really tops the charts. She is warm, friendly, and super good at what she does! I've had back problems for some time now and have sought massage therapy as a way to relieve my chronic pain. Well, the pain has gotten worse with my sucky job and now I'm suffering with fist size knots running down the right side of my back (very painful). Kara has a very unique approach that combines working with your guides to inuitivley understand what you 'need 'for better balance and removal of patterns and obstacles that are no longer of use to you. The removal aspect is done through a variety of techniques - the most notable, has been through the practice of Shamanistic healing which have been proven to be very effective for me. Kara is awesome. The sign of a good massage therapist is in the touch, and Kara has it. Some are too rough, some are too gentle. Kara is just right because she adapts to you by sensing the knots and tightness and focuses her hands there to give relief from pain and bundled constricted fibers. She works with care and devotes the time required for proper treatment. She also gives great feedback and helps out by recommending stretches one can do between treatments. I had never had a hypnotherapy session before, much less any kind of therapy over Skype, but it was just like being there in person with Kara. My experience working with Kara was personally damaging. I've only just gotten enough space from things to share about it two and a half years later. When I reached out to her over email I received a very cut and dry reply, and a lack of willingness to engage in dialogue about what happened. I told her that I planned to share about my experience working with her so that others can be aware, and was accused of threatening her in response. So, for those who want to read a review on the opposite end of the spectrum, here is my experience... I came to Kara in a state of active crisis on all levels. I was immediately talked into signing a contract for a large number of sessions, and pre-paying for them all up front (I do NOT recommend this. If you consider working with Kara, pls try single sessions to make sure it is a good fit for you) because (at least at the time that I worked with her) there was no 'out' if you decide it is not a good fit, or are triggered by her practice methods and cannot continue working with her (which is what happened to me). Even though our sessions were so long ago, I have the audio recording, so I know what was said and can clearly reflect on the impact. In our first hypnosis session, she opened the space by saying that anything I imagined was accurate and correct, no matter what it was. I was then prompted into visuals (too quickly for my neurodivergent brain) and when I shared what I visualized, Kara became audibly frustrated that my imagination wasn't providing the typical visualization for that exercise and told me that what I was imagining wasn't "natural" (even though it was). When I hesitantly named the guide that came to me she told me "I'm not going to call them that". This was all a direct contradiction to her earlier instruction, and this contradiction was given to me WHILE I WAS UNDER HYPNOSIS. She then proceeded to demonize the part of me that was negatively impacted by this overt contradiction, and 'banish' them. This may sound like a small thing (especially if you've never done hypnosis), but it impacted me in a very big way. I left her office disoriented, and afterwards typed up my experience to share with her, but found myself up against a solid brick wall of *executive dysfunction (a symptom of my adhd / autism) and unable to send it. I also found myself in a state of freeze / flight when confronted with her email to schedule our next appointment. I want to emphasize that this ONE SINGLE EMAIL was the ONLY contact I received from her at ALL, in follow up to an appointment with a new client in a state of crisis that was obviously not good. I never heard from her after that, and continued to struggle with reaching out. If you are neurodivergent and/or need someone who is willing to check in with you more than once after a triggering or traumatic session, then I do NOT recommend Kara. Kara is ableist in a very overt way. If you can't live up to her neurotypical standards, in session or outside them, then tough luck, it's your problem for not being 'adult' enough. Her priority seems to be to lock you into an expensive contract, and then get you out of her office as fast as possible, or just forget about you. Once she has your money, you aren't a priority in her practice unless you have the mental capacity to make yourself one. I'm sure Kara has helped people, but my personal experience was that my needs were not met. I was shamed for the images my brain conjured during hypnosis. I was met with aggression when I finally got myself to a place where I could contact her, and then was shamed for the duration of time that it took (which was over two years, due to the impact and circumstances of my life at that time). This was beyond the scope of our contract, but Kara had communicated special flexibility about the time frame of the contract when I signed up, then never reached out to tell me that this was not the case / that the prepaid sessions were expiring. I knew there was a possibility that she would not agree to continue our work together when I emailed her two years after the event, but I was not expecting the harshness in which she responded. In short, if you have disabilities, or need someone who is willing to give you more than the bare minimum, tread with caution, or look elsewhere. read more

Her healing skill of working with others offers a nurturing doorway in moving forward through physical body pains and/or finding yourself emotional stuck. I'm just going to detail how I came to find Kara and her very helpful services. I do not live in Asheville, I was on vacation from Florida. I cannot recommend Kara enough. I have been searching for help for my daughter for some time. I kept seeing her Yelp for hypnotism and was not sure what my daughter needed but I felt desperate and just wanted her to get help for her anxiety, depression, and lack of confidence. Kara was amazing! We did 3 sessions together where she guided me to getting to the root of my problems. She helped me to unlock an indescribable amount of self-love and compassion that is so important to living a peaceful, joyful, and spiritual life. I saw Kara after I was in a car accident and I'm so glad that I met her. From the very first session her warmth, compassion, level of understanding, extraordinary listening skills, and her calming nature put me at ease and I knew that I had come to the right place to heal from the accident. Kara is an outstanding person,a warm and nurturing personality. I found her as Massage Therapist years ago. The bright and warm energy that comes from her was always an attraction, and of course her mastery of technical skills, made my visits with her joyous. As a Hypnotherapist, she takes a sacred healing approach to untying the knots in our psyche. She takes a spiritual approach to healing our human incongruities. As Kara got involved in her Depth Hypnosis Therapy I asked her if she could help me to stop smoking cigarettes. She said she could. I had been smoking cigarettes for the last 40 years and the addiction had truly become a Monkey On My Back! They were the greatest cause of stress in my life.
