It also enabled him to set up a high school game plan on the jobs he took in high school, along with classes and other activities. The summer between junior and senior year, he worked on his personal statement essay along with the individual essays for the colleges in which he will apply. He had a great head start on these before his senior year classes began. What I love about having Piotr, Jack and the team at Delehey College Consulting behind us, is that they helped preserve the relationship we have with our son. They were there to ask questions and bounce ideas off of. They gave him great feedback on the essays he wrote and even though our son gave them to us to read, the feedback that Piotr provided even though it was similar to our feedback and thoughts, carried more weight as he was the expert in my son's eyes. I don't yet know the outcome of my son's college applications, but I do know that without Delehey College Consulting and Piotr's advice and guidance my son's application would not be as strong as it is and he wouldn't be as prepared as he was at the start of his school year which alleviated a great deal of stress and even got us a thank you for the push to get the essays mostly completed before the school year began. We interviewed several College Consultants and went with the consultant that my son felt most comfortable with and that he could work with the best. Delehey College Consulting wasn't the cheapest option, but in our eyes it was the best option and provided us the best bang for the buck. My son and I have known that we could ask any question and it would be answered in a short amount of time. We know that they will be there for us until my son determines which school he will attend next school year. I honestly can't say I've been disappointed even slightly throughout the contact we've had over the last 2 years and into this school year. If I had another child, we would use Delehey College Consulting for him/her as well. We believe that much in the service and guidance we have received.

Jack was extremely thorough and helped my son get accepted to his first choice within 3 weeks, in the first batch of waitlist applicants! What really differentiates Jack is his ability to motivate! I felt my son really put in the extra effort and responded to Jack's direction. So often this is the tiny difference between acceptance and just another application. During the enrollment process she checked in and updated me frequently. At registration completion they had everything organized and the entire staff was helpful, friendly and welcoming. Another reason I was interested in this school is the class sizes, they are small allowing note attention to my childs learning with the teachers not having to focus on 16 students at a time. My son loses interest quickly if he isnt involved or doesnt feel included so I look forward to the advancements he will make with his teacher and 8-11 fellow classmates. Im grateful to be apart of this community so far and having my son in a school I feel comfortable with leaving him at during the day was my main priority. In my opinion, it was a great fit for him after having had multiple life changes over the previous few years. (divorce, multiple moves, so on) The small class sizes here allow teachers to gain a perspective on students that a typical classroom, quite simply, probably wouldn't allow. I thoroughly appreciated the insights teachers provided during P/T conferences. They gave not only academic but social insights into my son's life that I would not have otherwise had. (Don't tell him I said that ) Having said all of that, he decided to go to elsewhere for his high school years. Whether or not it's a good decision for him remains to be seen. In any case, I would urge parents (and their students!) to consider Collegiate Academy. As parents we must help our kids decide what is best for them at a given time. The beauty of Jeffco is this ability to have options. We haven't had this option presented so cleanly to us in any other school system. Please check them out.

This school has not provided me any proof that they actually helped my son. They lied to me and…read morestarted my son off at a pre k level and in 8 weeks managed to work to a 2nd grade level. I asked them about the material each 2 weeks and asked what grade level it was applied to. They stated it was not applied to a grade level. However at the end of 8 weeks, $30,000 later I paid them, the director Liz tested him and told me he improved " TWO GRADE LEVELS". Having done testing on him prior to starting this program, that would have meant he went up to 7th grade and I was happy. Only until my education lawyer discovered they meant 2nd grade, and told me they did nothing for my son, to obtain a lawyer and proceed for fraud against the school. This school will ignore your questions, or issues. They will not reply to you after they think they have made their justification. They will not offer you a refund after you have proven their program didn't work. They will try to talk you into more testing done by them, and doing their academy which is $80,000 a year. This has been the most hurtful experience I have ever had with a company that claimed they could help my son, and did nothing but lie.

It is held in an office setting with very little room for movement and play. Testing is done in-house with a strong arm approach to enrollment. The stress students experience will influence their wish to continue to read or study in the future. Parents kept in the dark except for well rehearsed sessions that are designed for buy in and future payment. Get the books and do it yourself; this isn't rocket science! Those who "train" your child using much the same approach as dog training, often don't even have a degree in teaching.
