I came to westwind wanting a home. I even thought I found one... I was here for about a month and…read moreI paid for my own private room. This last week a woman in the house began to tell me to watch how loudly I step on the stairs at night. I explained how I have neuropathy and potentially have MS and yet she said I was using it as an excuse. I stood up for myself, I called her no names. I simply responded wit her over text a few times. She vaguely threatened me that if I kept on "acting out of line" that something would happen. I told staff about it because I knew that is appropriate behavior inside of these places. I made sure we could have a supervised conversation. Staff even agreed with me that It was fucked up and that we needed to have a chat and I took responsibility for my part in engaging in the BS. The next day after I made cinnamon rolls, I was attacked by her on the couch. She punked me by pushing me down onto the couch and standing over me as she laid blows and blows closed fisted into my head. I had to scratch her face and eye to get her off of me. Some women came into the room and got her off of me. Her friend Sophia lied and said that I pushed her first. This woman was 3 times the size of me, if I was going to hurt her first I would've made it count and not pushed her. They weren't even going to kick her out just move her houses. But she left on her own accord. The next day because I texted her something inappropriate and because I spoke about it to a few of my friends there, I was punished by having to be moved houses into a non one person bedroom (and I paid for my own.) The girl who lied on my name said that I was making her uncomfortable even tho I never spoke to her. I was beaten here. I was humiliated. I was unheard. I begged staff to let me stay in my home because it used to be the first safe place in my whole life. Nothing. They just sat there dead eyed and sociopathic and they listened to me beg. Fuck westwind.

I'm like wow! Really? A homeless shelter, I'm to say the least disappointed and terrified, I didn't need to come here and use up all my insurance benefits and kick me to the streets. I'm very disappointed and so stressed, instead of helping me I'm worse off mentally and scared to death of what I'm going to do. Save yourself the time if you are really desperate and need help go somewhere else because the only thing you'll get here is all your insurance benefits getting used up , Here these people only care about milking your insurance dry and then sending you to a homeless shelter with no insurance benefits left for Rehab. I'm seriously considering reporting this place. Think about that is I have no idea where I report them to.
