Sometimes just taking a step back and put yourself in their shoes, and trust people are doing things with best of intentions. Unfortunately for us (meaning everyone, not the staff) human nature sometimes makes us think the worse of people, a mindset that we only can change within ourselves. Friendly staff, no one wants to be in a nursing home, call light response time is just very slow at high volume times.

Having had a not so good experience at a Renaissance with a relative, I decided to choose Manor Care for my post-hospital care. I am very glad I chose Manor Care as my experience there was very good. From the nurses to the Physical/Occupational Therapy Staff everyone was attentive to my needs. Quite honestly as I was there over Christmas, I thought the staffing would not be as attentive, but I was wrong. There was more than a skeleton staff there the whole weekend and everyone was more than happy to help out. Even the food at this location was excellent. Sure there were some drawbacks but the staff there made sure I was comfortable and they helped me get better while I was there just over a week. If I ever had the need for skilled nursing again or I knew someone else who needed it, I would not hesitate to recommend Manor Care as their service is excellent and am grateful that this place helped me on the road to recovery.

My…read moredad was sent here for rehab, I arrived prior to him and the room they assigned was not ready, there was plastic and duct tape on the windows, they furniture was broken, the bathroom was missing tiles and the sink was covered in rust. The staff left two sandwiches (bread and cheese) on the nightstand, I have no idea how long they had been sitting but I would never have let him eat them. The hallway had old food trays laying on wheelchairs, call lights on for hours. Once my dad arrived I asked for a chair so I could sit by his bedside and I was told they did not have any extra but I would bring my own folding chair when I visit. I then asked for a box of Kleenex and I was told they were out. My father is a fall risk and when I asked for bed rails I was told "All patients have the right to fall, you can speak to the coordinator in the morning, if he falls tonight we will place him in a chair at the nurses station". At one point I needed to go our to my car to get some of his personal belongings and was then locked out, rang the buzzer multiple times and no one ever came to let me in I had to call another family member to come to main entrance and let me back inside. Working in healthcare myself for over 10 years I have visiting multiple facilities and this one is by way one of the worst I have seen. Needless to say, I pulled my father out of there within two hours of his arrival.

They helped me with my back injury with a tremendous amount of knowledge and guidance throughout all of our therapy sessions. Each time I learned new exercises, I was provided with practical information and techniques for everyday life and for a healthy lifestyle moving forward. They addressed all my concerns and reassured me I would get better and they were right. I appreciate them both along with the front desk staff! They (Pat and Griselda) were also positive and welcoming right from the start. I appreciated their energy also.

Five Stars is Not Enough!…read more The team at Rush Physical Therapy - 4710 W 95th St, Oak Lawn is truly something special. This isn't just a place where you go to get treatment it's a family of men and women whose hearts and passion shine through everything they do. Their goal isn't just to help you heal physically; it's to help you function better in everyday life and return to the things you love with strength and confidence. Every therapist here pushes you but in the right way. They never push you to the point where you dread coming back. Instead, they challenge you in ways that remind you of what you're capable of, and they encourage you every step of the way. They don't just treat the body, they uplift the spirit. From the moment you walk through the doors, you can feel the warmth. There's no attitude, no negativity just kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. The front desk welcomes you like family, and the therapists work together as a close-knit team (family) who clearly care for one another and for every patient who comes in. Today was my last day of therapy, and honestly, leaving felt bittersweet. I'm grateful for the progress I've made, but I'll miss the support, encouragement, and positive energy I felt every time I walked in. I've done plenty of reviews for restaurants and customer service before, but this review is different because this place has made a real impact on my health and my life. If you are in the Oak Lawn area and you need physical therapy whether it's recovering from an injury, surgery, or just needing extra help to get your body right come here. I promise you will not be disappointed. Unless you're someone who can't be pleased no matter what, you will feel the difference here. This is truly a home away from home for healing. With heartfelt gratitude, K. Brown
