As far as local cemeteries go, this one is "new to the neighborhood" having been sculptured out of a meadow, hence the name. My Godparents are buried here and I enjoy visiting them because this is such a quiet and reflective space. I have posted a photo of the cemetery rules, but they seem to be fairly flexible with these "rules".

We had to extend our service almost an extra hour at last minute and Jonathan was very accommodating to our request. Fisher's was extremely responsive to our phone calls and requests. After the end of the funeral the next day they provided us the cards on all of the flowers at the service, thank you cards, and provided documents for next steps. Thank you Jonathan and staff for helping us send our loved one off.

They were good on the counseling and the little details that can make or break a service, and the service was dignified and meaningful, even in Covid times, with their videographer doing a great job. The video is posted for 90 days after the service, too, which is an important "extra," for people who could not make it to the service or the live streaming. We were very pleased.

Rest Haven has no sections that are clearly labeled for visitors, although he is theoretically in the Sunset Terrace section near the entrance. To get to him, you need to get through the second entrance. There's one entrance with a sign displaying the cemetery rules in front of a triangular plot of land, but that's not the right one for getting to him. You want to go to the second entrance, just a tiny bit farther down the road. You'll see a mailbox there immediately inside the cemetery. Drive through this entrance and park your car immediately. His section is going to be on your right. Walk past the trees that are on your right just a little bit and then walk further into the section. He's pretty close to the middle. If you hit the little area with the hedges surrounding it, you've gone too far. He's almost exactly in the middle of the section, but slightly more to the right. If you have trouble finding him still, I recommend downloading the Billion Graves app which has markers labeled by coordinates. This helped me get to him, but I still had to wander through the section a little bit. His stone is bronze and is VERY close to another row of stones. Rest Haven is not gated, so you can drive through there anytime--preferably daytime. One star off for not having sections labeled or some signage for visiting this American icon.

Come time for the services there was about 20 standing and about 4 seats. I was told to sit or leave. There wasn't any seats and women and older was standing. One of his daughters almost was made to sit in the back. As we were paying our respects we was told to leave out to our cars. No organization what so ever. As we left for the cemetery we was going from 65 mph to 70 mph. No traffic intervention at two major highways. I felt the whole thing was rushed and the funeral director was quite rude.

He told me if I was going to stay that I needed to find a seat and sit. I informed him that there were not enough seats. He said there are 2. There were 20 of us standing. He tried to make the daughter of the deceased sit in the back. His "bed side manner" was terrible. He was rude and disrespectful. Telling everyone they needed to get to their cars after the service when they were paying their last respects. There were absolutely no one who lined up cars or even got police to direct traffic going to the cemetary. He would speed up to 65 mph and many were left behind. They started the tent before everyone was there or even out of the cars. If you want a funeral home who appears to care for you, I do not recommend this Gerts Funeral Home in Brook, Indiana.
