They offer child care and yet children run wild throughout, including areas like the free weights where they could get seriously injured. Staff does nothing to enforce the rules. They basically stand around chatting with one another. Pool area is flooded with kids. I get it, YMCA is a family friendly facility. But if you're looking for a place to get in a good swim workout, be prepared to share the lanes with kids playing around. Again, the staff does nothing. I was all around disappointed with my experience and found I just wasn't using the facility as I was more annoyed when I left on the whole. If you are looking for a serious place to work out, VASA and Planet Fitness have great facilities for as little as $10 per month. Skip this kids playground! read more

If they would have a negative star I would give it. They do not deserve even one star. This is an organization that even CEO would not respond to your email and care about the kids treatment issues at their facility. So save your nervous and money. I have documented many times that counselors using a bad language in front of kids. Neither director, vp or CEO reacted to the concerns and their reaction take it or leave it. I just have to say I would think twice about this place. My daughter and I were denied entry into the women's locker room and accosted by the janitor. She stated that my daughter was too young for the women's locker room. My daughter has special needs, and we have been into the family locker rooms, where there are several adolescent boys and grown men walking around. We were extremely comfortable when we went in there. I am shocked this is allowed. Totally inappropriate for young girls to be in that situation. Try doing better! read more

Absolutely the WORST customer service I've ever had. There was only one Signed up for the 2 adult membership thinking we could use the no extra charge daycare while my husband and I worked out. We have a 5 year old and an 8 year old so we didn't sign them up because, per their website, they can't use the facilities until they're at least 9 years old. After scheduling a time to bring them in and arriving, they said we had to sign the kids up as members to use the daycare. No one informed me of that nor could I find it on their website. So much for daycare at no extra charge. We decided to cancel since we had to pay extra, and we already felt it was a little pricy to begin with. You have to let them know by the 15th of the month to cancel otherwise they charge you for the next month. I called and the front desk said I had to email her boss so I did. I sent the email out the evening of the 15th and didn't hear anything for 2-3 days. So then I emailed her again and the "membership coordinator" on that Monday and he didn't contact me until the next day which was only after I called again to request my cancellation. He asked me if I wanted to freeze my account instead. I said no and that I'd like to cancel. No response. So I emailed him Friday trying to see if my account was being canceled or what. No response. The original boss finally contacted me to tell me she would take care of the cancellation, I would be charged for May because I didn't cancel early enough, and she apologized for the delay. Absolutely ridiculous. Never again. read more

Usually I don't review unless I've been to a place at least twice. Making an exception here because I'm confident in a 5/5 review after a single visit. This is the best facility I've ever worked out in. Hands down. It's stunning. Thoughtfully designed. Spacious. Nice locker rooms. The very latest equipment -- stuff I've never seen before. They have small towels and spray available to wipe down machines after use, instead of the more wasteful alternatives. Clever extras, like special lighting and info screens. Staff were all super friendly and welcomed me as a visiting YMCA member. Calling this a gym isn't quite right because it is so much more, but whatever you call it, you must see to believe. Front desk team overall unfriendly, snarky, and hard to work with. They have a strange obsession with power over their members. Like mall cops on steroids. Best YMCA I have ever been a part of. Brand new built in 2018, clean, great indoor pool area for little kids and adults putting in laps. Also like their onsite childcare and free weight setup. This is a good facility if you are on the go driving through the area, or need an inexpensive membership. The equipment variety is limited, and the weight room equipment while fully functional, it's showing it's age. The facilities are bare-bones but clean and maintained. The YMCA gym has a lot of equipment, which is nice -- but what's really amazing is the personal training services available through the Y. Currently they have packages that run $25 per one hour personal training session. I've been working out with Bill Szczudlak once a week since October. Bill is an amazing trainer -- he has an endless variety of exercises and mixes it up from week to week to keep things fresh and fun. In 9 months, 20 lbs melted off and I picked up a lot of muscle along the way (I'm 5"11 and went from 178 to 158). Basically, Bill is like one of those Hollywood trainers that makes you work hard, and gets you into amazing shape. read more

I adore this place. My husband and I are new to the area and had been looking for a gym with childcare. Thankfully after some Googling we came across this charming place. Don't let the old building fool you, their equipment inside is superb and a lot of it recently updated (like treadmills with the virtual trails and new BodyPump equipment). Plus they are building a brand new center near the Ivy Tech campus. I love the family atmosphere here, that's my absolute favorite. You walk in with kids everywhere, parents, and people of ALL ages using this facility. That's what really sold us with the caring staff. The membership price is extremely affordable and the childcare is free during your workout (up to 2.5 hours). I love the LesMills classes, I have been doing them for several years and I was stoked they had ALOT of classes. I would recommend this place to anyone needing a gym for just themselves or the whole family. read more

This is a relatively older facility, but their cardio and weight rooms more than get the job done. Everything is well maintained and clean; the stuff that counts. Locker rooms are somewhat cramped, so going during rush hour could be a tight squeeze, but in general this location is family friendly and enjoyable for those seeking a good burn. read more

Before the coronavirus quarantine I very much expressed how I felt about the age based pricing method of the YMCA. You wouldn't charge someone more for being black, gay, or Jewish... So what does my age matter? Well due to a system "error" they charged me an entire year membership off a card that was conveniently about to expire. I was never set for autopay and was very vocal about not coming back when they mentioned my card. And now if I want to suspend the membership I never asked for I have to pay $10/mo according to their website. So I paid for a gym I can't even use during the outbreak. At least Planet Fitness had the courtesy to automatically pause everyone's memberships. Don't go to this place. Don't allow ageist based discrimination and have your money stolen. read more

The new facility is great and all... which is why I did not give one star...so it makes me very sad to say I'll have to cancel my membership. There are WAY too many people with memberships there. Given that its such a new location, another was closed, its the new year... maybe a cap on memberships would have been wise.
