The market runs from 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. Today, the market had about 50 dealers selling everything from antiques to a lot of junk. We were there early and attendance was down probably due to predicted rain. The venders and people were nice and willing to negotiate. We bought a couple of things at really good prices, but we had to paw through a lot of junk. Unimaginative food venders are available, but we didn't purchase food, I did not see restrooms, but I would assume there are available somewhere on site. The venue is lovely and tree covered. The parking lot is paved and dry. It's an hour+ drive for us, so not sure we will be regulars.

The majority of the park is for parking. Since the amphitheater holds around 1500, that means a lot of cars. Fortunately, there are wide paved walking paths from the gravel lot to the amphitheater. The seating descends down to the stage on the east side of the entrance. The park is also used for large celebrations and 166 acres of the park can be reserved. Review #1144

Great resource for students. Not for staff…read more Staff can pay for memberships to the CoRec, but I no longer recommend it for staff. In the fall of 2025, something changed. The corec used to have a family locker room. The name of the family locker room has been changed. It is a small change, but indicative of the overall policies changing. In addition, the pool hours changed to be completely unusable for families. I used to give my son swim lessons at the co-rec, pools, but now, he cannot go because the pools are open at such weird times. Moreover, the pool workers are no longer friendly to families. When my son was 4, they let me take him in the hot tub for up to 5 minutes. It was a nice treat for my son after he did swim lessons. At 5 years old, they said he could stay for up to 15 minutes. I never let him go above 8 or 9 minutes out of caution. I was always with him. The last time I went to the co-rec, my son was 5 this fall, we got in the hot tub like normal. We were told to leave the hot tub because kids under 15 are not allowed. I pointed to THEIR SIGN hanging up that says 5 and up. They said, "I'm sorry that policy is changing. We are no longer allowing kids in the hot tubs." I said that we would stop going in the hot tub out when the sign and the website changed. Then I had 10 lifeguards escort us out of the pool area. My son was not loud or splashing or rambunctious in the hot tub. He was chilling and calm. Yet they insisted the new policy was no children at all. Shortly thereafter, they changed the pool schedule so families cannot use any of the pools. By changing the pool schedule to be unfriendly to families, they also make it significantly harder for students to use it as well. I stopped paying for the corec and take my son elsewhere to swim--places that are family friendly.

Excellent pool and lots of big gym rooms, well maintained and clean, the co-rec is the only decent athletics option on campus. This building was renovated from a tiny box to a decent size yet already bursting from record numbers of freshman past years. But the main problem is for us alumni! Why are we being charged for having already spent, in my case, fifty four thousand dollars on Purdue tuition? I would definitely make this my gym in the whole area but the hours are too short and this place gets way too busy during the semester. It is the worst of all worlds.

The other is a baseball complex next door. They have separate entrances which is a shame if you want to visit both. (I suppose it keeps traffic around all the toddlers reduced for safety.) The baseball has lots of parking and diamonds for games. There are some facilities for the public convenience as well. The park is really cool and has one of the brightest and most loaded playgrounds I've seen in my travels. Underneath the equipment is one of those spongy shock absorbing materials that is kind of fun to walk on all by itself! There is a single entrance to the playground area, so it could get congested if cross traffic is heavy. The park is also host to a large number of pickleball courts. The sad thing is that they look like they either need attention or are undergoing some construction. I did not see a single court with a net in place, so that makes playing quite impractical. Hopefully, they will get the courts back in shape soon and make this a 5 star location. Review #1074

It was reimagined almost 10 years ago in 2014. There is free street parking available for the park and you could also park in the Bauer Family Center lot, which it sits behind. The park is not very big and has a decent full basketball court, a shelter with picnic tables under it, and a a couple of playgrounds. There is fitness equipment there, but it looks to be in fair condition, and thats generous. There are two playground areas here. They are both on the rubbery mat surface that are popping up at most new parks. There is an area for smaller kids that is fenced in and has a jungle gym with a tiny bridge, and some slides. There is also a low hanging swing there and a metal bench for caregivers to sit and watch the littles play. The other playground area, for bigger kids, has a bank of traditional/toddler swings. This area features a monstrous jungle gym contraption over there. As well as a stand up see-saw, and seat spinners. The equipment seems relatively new and is in great repair. The park has a hole seems to be well maintained and was clean. There is a fence around the entire park's perimeter. Other park amenities include a shower, which I found random, a glider swing, a share a book kiosk, and some benches (the Buddy Bench). This is not a destination park, but is a very nice community park that is nestled in a small neighborhood.

There are distinct playgrounds for different age groups and on the older kid side, there is a basketball court too. Parking is limited to street parking for the park visitors, but there is a lot for the Bauer Family Center if visiting both places. I was able to street park on Fountain St without any problems. There is also a small shelter area for shade since the trees on the property are on the perimeter and don't offer much shade to the playground. Note that the Bauer and other neighborhood buildings have murals that add fun backdrops to the playgrounds. Review #1086
