These are a bargain and absolutely delicious! There is a good size nursery out the back with a range of plants and trees and ornaments which is nice for a wander. The cafe is lovely and bright and great atmosphere. Lovely surroundings, pine tables and chairs and fab menu. Fresh scones with home made jam and clotted cream - gorgeous! We had a variety of home made cakes and they were all fab. Prices of Fruit and Veg are very good and comparable with supermarkets, meat and products are a better quality (free range and organic) and are therefore more expensive. It is like the old fashioned butchers but also has all the new meats that some people are asking for. I have tried ALL the supermarkets for meat but none come up to the standard of this butcher. I really enjoy going to pick my meat as I know that it will all be eaten, tender and tasty. They sell whole chickens, steaks, chops, mince, offal- everything really, and can order in anything if you have any unusual requests. Although the meat is more expensive, you feel like you're getting better value for money- you actually know where the food has come from rather than the generic farms supermarkets get their meat from- and can buy exactly what you need. I felt a little rushed when I went there, but the butcher was able to tell me where the meat came from and how best to cook it, both of which are an important service for me. Worth the extra money.
