Decided to try this place today. They just opened recently. This rating is solely for my experience with the nail tech that serviced me on today. The salon itself is nice and clean with an upscale appearance. A few of the staff members greeted. and smiled at me. I walked in and was seated within about 5-10 mins.
My tech today was Theresa. I only know this because I was the one to initiate an introduction. When asked what pedicure I wanted I told her it was my first time so I didn't know what they offered or prices. She scrambled around for a menu but another worker instructed me to scan a QR code for their service prices and details.
She asked what color I wanted , I gave her the name and she got a little short with me and said "I need to know the number". I told her I could show it to her on the model.
She tried to make some conversation about how I found the salon and I responded and tried to continue the conversation.. but she didn't seem like she really wanted to talk. Idk maybe because I had my AirPods in she thought I wanted a silent service. I also thought "well everyone isn't super friendly or talkative ". So I didn't think much of it initially .
During the pedicure at one point she tapped my leg to tell me to "hold my leg up" while she did the scrub. Most places I've gone to either hold the leg up where they want it or they have a block for you to place it on.. either way I think that was rude. I brushed this off and go back to my phone to keep busy.
Overall the pedicure was okay, I felt it was a tad rushed but whatever I had another service to look forward too.
I chose the same color for my toes (regular) and hands(gel). She filed my nails and trims my cuticles and tells me to go wash my hands and then I notice I'm bleeding. Again I brush it off because ppl make mistakes..
As we get to the third coat of polish, (which is typical for me because I am a dark skinned woman with dark nails beds and I chose a light color), I ask her about my thumb. I'm not necessarily satisfied with the way it looks. I get this color quite often so Ik how it looks on my nails. She argues that oh maybe it's the polish. Maybe it wasn't mixed right .. and that there's a problem with my nails and that's why it looks that way. I'm not in the mood to argue so I just stopped talking about its and ask for something else. She's tries "funny bunny" on top of the 3 coats of "pearly ice" and I'm still not sure if I like the way it looks. I am trying not to make a scene or hurt anyone's feelings .
I feel like then she starts to get a little annoyed with me . She tells me we can do a new color and she rushes to drill off the polish, polish debris flying everywhere in our area. There's so much dust flying around I have to turn my head to avoid inhaling any. I decide on funny bunny and we go on with that. Her whole demeanor changed as if she doesn't even want to do my nails, pushing my hands around , tapping or using one word commands. She then rushes thru the rest of the manicure.. quickly applying lotion and cuticle oil, barely a massage. She never offered a towel for the polish dust that it now all over my arms and pants.
After she's done she proceeds to speak about me in another language to the nail tech next to us.. I only know this because as I'm gathering my things I see the tech look at my hands.
I paid for my service and left. During this whole experience I try to convince myself that may she's just quiet, having a bad day.. etc etc As I sat in my car outside of the salon I see the same tech who seemed to not be interested in my services and rush through them without hardly a word, smiling and laughing with her next customer. Safe to say I will not be returning. I read nothing but good reviews about them and I considered giving them another try with a different person , but I was only there because my usual tech was out of town. I hope other customers don't experience this type of treatment. read more
