Love the staff at Soleil 7. Sam takes care of me and I am always pleased with how my hair turns out.

This place is pretty great. I have super thick slightly wavy hair and I wanted to cut it short but didn't know if it would get too voluminous if I did. I showed a picture to the stylist and she recommended a slightly longer cut that was more of a lob than a French bob. Either way, she was absolutely right and it turned out great! She even showed me how to style it and let me try a product I had asked about to show me how it would act with my hair. I had a wonderful experience. read more

I've been to the Monroe location (soon moving locations) a couple times and the Market Street location once and have always had great experiences. The stylist are all very knowledgeable and cut my hair exactly how I want. The overall vibe is trendy yet relaxing. You walk in and they offer you a beverage, including relaxing tea which I always request. The process is always smooth and relaxing - especially the shampoo where they give the best head massages! I also have several of their Aveda products all of which smell very floral - I'm always getting compliments on the smell of my hair! read more

I had an horrible experience!!! I left out the salon with a wet ponytail! Wanted my hair dyed burgundy but left with black. Angela (stylist) didn't ask me if I wanted my hair styled or what. She just said "do you want to leave it wet or do you want me to blow dry it" WHATTT! I left looking a mess!! read more

This is the worst place I've ever gotten my hair done. I am a very picky person when it comes to hair so I wouldn't write this review if I didn't mean it. I'm going to start with the social aspect. Everyone that works there makes me feel very uncomfortable. Especially the young receptionist. It's very awkward checking in and checking out and frankly she doesn't know how to do her job. Also, I've been to 2 different hair stylists here and I feel very judged during conversation. Now with my hair... I recently got the worst haircut I've ever had. I asked for long layers and ended up getting very short layers with a whole chunk of hair looking completely different from the rest. I'm very unhappy and it's going to take a long time for my hair to be even again. I've always gone to aveda salons and had an excellent time, but this is by far the worst aveda salon I have ever been to. Thanks for reading. read more

Best hair cut experience ever! I was super nervous trying a new hair salon. I've been to the same hairdresser my whole life and have recently moved to far away to go to her any more. Soleil 7 did not disappoint. The staff was super friendly, the environment was clean, and the products are mostly natural. I have been to many hair salons and barbershops during my years here at FSU. I searched the town high and low to find a place that cuts my hair the way I like it to be cut. With the style and flow that I think it needs and over the years I just can not find that perfect balance between those two things. But once I met Ashley at Soleil 7 then my search was finally over. She is very personable as well as very talented behind some scissors. I Highly recommend Soleil 7 to everyone that is in search of a new salon. It is tucked away in the corner of a strip mall so it is very easy to miss but it is by far my best experience I have ever had at a salon. read more

Terrible Place. Don't waste your time or money. Sent my daughter (FSU Student) there for cut and color. Was promised by manager that they would call me with quote on price for services before and I state before any services were performed. They called me after and I gave my credit card over the phone not thinking about the cost. After trying to figure out how they charged me this amount, I called back and was told that they had added on several conditioning treatments that I was not told about. Plus the stylist didn't even trim the hair correctly. It was so uneven that I could have done a better job. I am in the process of disputing this charge on my credit card. Beware of this place. They take advantage of students coming in and an 18 year old does not know this. Guess she learned a very important lesson .... DON"T GO TO THIS SALON unless you want to be ripped off!!! read more

I arrived at 12:30pm for my hair appointment at Soleil 7. I asked my hair "professional" Haley S. to take me from a medium/dark brown at the roots and a very light brown at the ends to a blonde. I have gone from brown to blonde before and am used to going in for at least two appointments to get me to a blonde colour. Haley asked the manager on duty, Robin, what colour options she suggested and Robin told her to double process using 20 grams of enlightener. I told them both that 20 grams seemed like a lot of processer but they assured me that it would be fine and that I would have slight breakage but nothing more. Haley applied the first coat of enlightener which they left on for 40 minutes. When she took me to the bowl to wash the enlightener out I noticed a distressed look on her face and I asked her what was wrong, she told me nothing. I straigtened up from a lying position and looked in the sink and I saw a clump of my hair clogging the sink. I began to panick and Haley had to tell me to breathe, she was like breathe Amy, breathe. I told her "Haley this doesn't look good I don't think we shouldn't apply anymore" but again she assured me that my shoulder length hair was going to be fine. She then took me back to the chair and applied another coat of enlighter. I specifally told her that I didn't want to loose all of the hair but she again told me that it would be fine. She had another client come in and she told me to stay seated while she cut and styled the next client's hair. During the 50 minutes that she allowed the second application of enlightener to sit on my hair I had to ask her twice to check my hair and I asked Robin to check my hair twice as well. Haley was so busy with her other client that she barely looked at my hair and Robin glanced at my hair but neither of them did a strand test to make sure that the enlightener wasn't burning my hair off. By the time that Haley took me back to the bowl to wash for the second time my hair was coming off in large clumps all over my head. I sat up and she put a towel around my head. She lead me to another chair, applied a damage remedy treatment and told me to wait again while she again took on another client to style her hair. I waited and waited and waited. By the time she finished her second clients hair and applied make up to her face it was 6:00pm. Haley came back and removed the towel which revealed more large clumps of what used to be hair attached to my head. Shen then combed my hair and to my absolute horror yet more clumps of my hair came off on the comb. I then said to her "What the Fuck Haley, you left the enlightener on my hair way too long." She started to cry and apologize and told me you won't have to pay for this. She then said she would have to cut it to even the hair out. I had picked out a haircut from a magazine I was reading while I had been waiting for her to finish her second client's hair, the cut was a shoulder length cut with obvious bangs. I told her before she started cutting, "less is more Haley, don't cut all of my hair off". She said nothing to me as she started to cut my hair. She cut and cut and cut and I ended up with a pixie cut. A PIXIE CUT, NOT A BOB. She continued to cry and the owner owner of Soleil 7 Stephanie Borras was called in. When Stephanie arrived she asked Haley what had happended. Haley blubbered her way through excuses even telling her that I had asked to walk out of the Salon with Platinum hair. I had asked her to convert me from a brunette to a blonde, a process that even I know takes time. Stephanie asked Haley why didn't you try this or that, was the drastic haircut necessary to which Haley replied yes. At that point I ripped off my gown and said to them both, "I'm just going to leave". It was 6:30 pm as I walked out of the door. This goes into my top ten worst life experieneces, under my Mom having cancer, my non exsistent father, a terrible car accident, not finishing college, BAM the time I lost seven inches of hair burned off by Aveda rejects. Soleil 7 claims on their website to be "An Aveda Salon". Don't be fooled, they may have been trained at Aveda and sell Aveda products but almost all of the staff were, by their own admissions, "Let go" or "never asked to stay" from the Aveda Salon in Tallahassee. If you receive a gift card to Soleil 7 my suggestion to anyone would be to throw it away. Don't touch the handle of the door there lest you open it and walk in. Stephanie did ask me if there was anything she could do to make it better, but really what could be done once my hair had been fried and cut to one inch of my of my head. One last thing, I was ridiculed and laughed at all day at work today. Mortifying yes but lesson learned, only go to the Aveda Institute or Aveda Salon if you want Aveda products used in your hair, NOT SOLEIL !!!7 read more

I could not have had a better experience here. I've wanted platinum blonde hair for 2-3 years now and finally got it this time. Tiffany managed to price out all of my options before we began, told me what maintanence would look like/cost me, and when we accidentally went over-time and her other client came in, other stylists came over to help me finish up and get out in decent time. Everyone was so nice and enthusiastic to help. Will be back!! read more

I call to make an appointment an asked about how much it would be for color a partial foil. I was told the couldn't give this information so I made an appointment. Sure enough they were glad to give me a price before starting. 50 mins after arriving they told me 280 dollars. Wow ok I am willing to indulge myself but this is over the edge in my book and to take almost an hour to tell me this was ridiculous. read more

I am an 18 year old girl attending school up here and I was looking for a reliable salon to get my hair cut and colored. I heard good things about this place so I went to this salon by myself. Because I am a young girl, they totally took advantage of me. The lady overpriced me and charged me for unsaid things. Because my mom is not up here with me at school, my mom called the salon and asked for them to call her before they cut my hair in order to inform her what they were doing to my hair along with what the price would be. They failed to do this and just started working on my hair. When the lady came to me with the prices, she told me the lowest price would be $128 for just coloring and a cut. When my mom called a few days later, they informed her that they charged an additional $25 for a deep conditioning, which they never did, and another $25 in order to put a spray into my hair that would "keep the color in", which she also never told me about. Also, all they tried to do their was sell me overpriced products such as dry shampoo, shampoos, and conditioners. I will never go back here due to the fact that they took advantage of me for being a young girl. I have no problem paying the money for getting my hair done, but not when I am lied to at any salon. I will not come back to this salon again. read more
