I came here for the first time a year and a half ago, I paid $40 for my haircut with a beginner stylist and was very pleased. After 6 months I come back and the price increased which I'm used to at this point with inflation Finally I come back again another 6 months and the haircut is now $90 with the same stylist, I understand inflation and her skill set improving but I don't think her skill set had doubled within a year and half. More so this hair cut was probably my least favorite, much more was cut off than I asked. They also always have to try to sell you some hair products and reschedule you every 6-8 weeks which is kind of annoying, on top of getting a surprise price increase every trip. read more

This wasn't going to be a good style. She did OK on the cut, but the blowout was just very poorly done and showed a lack of expertise. I visited the Market St location recently while staying in Tallahassee. When I booked my appointment I was very clear in my expectations. I have dark hair but have increasing silver coming in. I explained that I am ready to embrace the silver and asked explicitly if they could provide this service. I was assured that this was absolutely doable. The person who scheduled me told me that an experienced stylist would be needed to accomplish this. The receptionist gave me three names of experienced stylists. She placed me on hold to verify an open appointment. She came back to the line with the name of a fourth person. I questioned her about this and her response was anyone could provide what I wanted. And this person was experienced enough. This was a red flag but I decided to give her a chance. I made the appointment. On the day of the appointment, I explained exactly what I wanted and showed the stylist a picture of a model with silver and pewter colored hair. I told her this is what I wanted. She said no problem. It might take a couple of sessions to get totally silver but she could do it. She took an extraordinarily long time to do the foils. This is not my first time having foils. I questioned how little hair she was coloring. She told me the silver would show beautifully against the ash. So I waited as she continued. When she rinsed my hair she was extremely pleased with the results and couldn't wait to show me the big reveal. She kept me turned away fro the mirror while drying my hair. When she turned me to the mirror I was so disappointed. I couldn't see any silver. If anything my hair appeared darker. I was quick to tell her, I didn't like it. It was not what I asked for no what I expected after four hours in the chair. She was stunned that I didn't like it. I reminded her of what I had shown her and asked her to do. She began telling me that what I wanted was a process that would take multiple appointments. I was floored this was not what I was told going in. She told me she needed to speak to her manager to see what she could do. The response from the manager was to ask for photos after which she asked me to pay for the appointment and rescheduled me for 3 days later. When I walked out of the salon my daughter asked what did they do? The color was that fine it was noticeable. On my return appointment, the owner assisted the same stylist with doing my hair. They decided to detox my hair and remove color. I thought that meant we were on the right track. My hair lifts easily and I told them that. The both worked on foiling my hair. I expected results. Five and a hours I was turned to the mirror and extremely disappointed to see very little silver and more dark. So nearly ten hours later and being charged $149 ($20 coupon for being new) I walked out disappointed again. When asked if I liked I was honest and said no. I came to this shop looking for a permanent stylist as I am relocating to the area soon. I will keep looking. Make sure you are clear with what you want at this salon. Hopefully, you will have a better experience. Staff is very friendly but that didn't make up for the disappointment. read more

When I learned they were offering hand tied I was quick to jump on board, and I am not disappointed! Stephanie Boras did an awesome job. The rows feel very secure and I look fabulous! While a new service it is obvious that Stephanie is an experienced stylist and as an owner she puts her money where her mouth is and takes the new product seriously. My experience with Angela was fabulous. She knew exactly what my hair needed to get it back to ashy blonde, fixed my roots , brassyness and previous bad hair color (From a different salon), blended everything beautifully and I left feeling so fresh and ready to take on the day. She was great, answered all my questions and gave me really helpful suggestions for keeping my hair healthy. Was a nice atmosphere as well, just felt good to be pampered in a beautiful place. Also, just FYI, the salon is doing a great job with covid regulations. Everyone was wearing masks, hand washing, social distanced, etc. Great experience! When I described the type of layers I wanted she immediately took out her phone and searched IG and Pinterest for images to confirm she knew what I wanted which was awesome because the place I'd been going could never get it right. The neck/scalp massage was heavenly and the salon itself is very chic modern, not like the sorority-style tacky decor of other places in town. They even have a 2-week guarantee that if there's something that needs fixed they'll do it for free. I don't know any other salon that has that. Loved my cut and the entire experience. I made an appointment last week. I made sure to have the day off since I have been very busy working. Unfortunately, the day of, I noticed I hadn't gotten a confirmation text or email so I decided to call them two hours and a half before my appointment. They told me they tried calling and their call wasn't going through. I asked them if they had my number to text and email address. They said they did. I don't know who dropped the ball here but time is precious and I've spent the last hour trying to find a new salon to set an appointment up without luck. Lovely shop, and such sweet employees! The girl at the front desk was so friendly and nice, asking if I needed anything to drink before I got started. Lori was my stylist, and she made sure I got exactly what I wanted before she started. She even suffered through my horror stories of haircuts past but this is not one of those stories! I will be back 100%, and don't forget to tip your stylist! The entire experience was relaxing and I recommend it. Great COVID precautions, but the stylist Maria clearly does not know what she's doing with regard to short hair with cowlicks. I ended up with a chunk of hair that stuck straight up out of the back of my head for weeks, until I could grow it out enough to get someone else to fix it. Disappointing. read more

Building inside is nicely decorated with an updated fresh vibrant look, chairs at hair stations are comfortable and the prices are clearly explained and agreed to ahead of time. They have a lovely selection of Aveda hair products at the front of the salon for both men and women's hair. There are plenty of ways to spend money at this salon! I love Soleil 7! After having to part ways with my favorite Aveda salon in Jacksonville, Soleil 7 was the answer to my prayers. The experience is luxurious and relaxing whether you come in for a salon treatment or for a massage (only at the market square location). I have always had a great haircut here, and the fact that shampoo and blowout are included is great! Prices are fair and depend on the hairdresser. While employees will recommend you Aveda products to try, there is no hard sell or push to purchase. I always have great conversation with the employees and leave feeling refreshed and beautiful. This hair salon is amazing. As soon as you arrive, they offer you water, tea or coffee. The whole environment is very spa like, and they really take their time with you. My hair stylist was Hannah and I will ALWAYS go back to her. Not only did she cut my hair exactly how I wanted it, but she gave an awesome scalp and neck massage too (all for $35!)! I went back to get my hair colored with Hannah, and she spent FOUR HOURS on my hair, really taking her time and getting it perfect. IM IN LOVE with how it came out. Highly recommend this salon! I had a wonderful experience getting my hair cut at Soleil 7. The front desk staff were very friendly, and I did not wait long at all before being called back for my scheduled appointment. My hair stylist was Brooke, & she was very personable & nice to talk to. I showed her pictures of how I wanted my hair to be cut & styled & she did an excellent job of recreating that. My haircut didn't take nearly as long as I expected, & it was nice to get in & out of the salon & still feel pampered. My only complaint is that when I booked the appointment I was told that I would get a discount on my service because I'd been referred by a friend, but when I got to the salon was told that the discount would not apply to my haircut. Katina is a wonderful stylist and I highly recommend her for a haircut. I love coming to Soleil, since each haircut comes with either a head, shoulder or hand massage with essential oils. So relaxing, and a welcome little luxury. The salon is clean and bright, and always seems busy without seeming crowded. They have an online booking process which is convenient and usually are pretty flexible in accommodating last minute requests. They will text you an appointment reminder. Soliel 7 is an Aveda salon, so all the products are clean and clear and smell amazing. The location is very convenient, right in Market Square, with plenty of parking. I have lived in major cities and always come back to Tallahassee to get my hair cut. Not sure what the secret is, but my hair always looks the best when cut in good ole Tallahassee. read more

I booked with Soleil 7 for my wedding in October 2019 and I can not say enough positive things. Courtney the Salon Manager was extremely helpful and understanding in helping pick a stylist for myself and bridesmaids. She sent over photos of their work after describing her what type of look I was going for and Wynona (who works at the other location) was the perfect fit. For my trial she Wynona was extremely friendly, welcoming, and made me absolutely comfortable. She was truly a joy to be around for the trial and the day of the wedding. I was able to show her a picture of what I wanted and she executed it wonderfully - I could not have been happier. My bridesmaids also really loved their styles that they picked themselves. I would absolutely not recommend this salon. I have been growing out my pixie for about three months and just went in to get the nape of my neck trimmed. I left with an extremely uneven haircut, done like the stylist didn't care at all. She didn't wash my hair before cutting it, DIDN'T EVEN BRUSH IT before cutting, and didn't show be the back of it before I left. She didn't introduce her name to me either. I'm extremely disappointed with the cut I got, and definitely will not be returning. Anyone who has ever tried growing out short hair knows just how precious each bit of length it, and when I was ready for my first trim, I was hoping for something EVEN at least... fair to say I am very disappointed, and now have to live with this haircut because that was my one shot before growing it out more. read more

After moving to Tallahassee I was worried about finding a stylist who can do blonde well and could handle the amount of hair I have. An average color and cut appointment for me is about five hours. I have been turned away or not given the style/color I want from other salons because of the work it takes to do my hair. When I moved here I looked up lots of reviews (with pictures) and found Hannah here at Soleil 7 ( Lafayette Location). Hannah is wonderful! She immediately made me feel welcome, never put me down and never tried to change the idea I initially would come in with. Her blondes come out lovely and my hair is never damaged when I leave. I have been going to her for two years and have always left happy. Unfortunately, I am moving and can no longer go to her but you should! Soleil 7 is clean and everyone is friendly and helpful. I have gone there during Covid and the establishment has followed the proper rules and is very careful. You see them constantly disinfecting, they set up hand sanitizer stations, employees wear face masks and halo masks (I didn't see any of them remove either) and customers must wear a mask the entire time, no exceptions. When you arrive they first have you wash your hands with a disinfecting scrub and then take you to their freshly disinfected station. There were no more than three stylist working both times I went. All appointments are scheduled and no one else is allowed in the store, they go out to greet them. I honestly can't think of a negative. Go there! I attached two pictures. I didn't have any from the side to really see the color but I think you can tell how great Hannah did. Also...sorry about the Snapchat filter on the short hair photo. I'm a happy camper with a good haircut! Soleil is right across from Joe Mama's on Monroe, same plaza as Sakura. I called and got a same day appointment, and they accept walk ins. The receptionist went through all the available appointments and cost of each stylist on the phone, which is always nice. I knew my cost going in which is sometimes unusual in the hair world. Salon is nice, they offered water/coffee/tea when you get in. It's a family owned salon and you kinda get that nice vibe. My hairdresser, Tiffany, is the daughter of the owners. It's an Aveda salon, so they do the whole scalp massage and hot towel routine which is always nice. I've been going here for a little over a year now and have yet to be disappointed. Hannah does a fantastic job and always makes sure I'm happy with my haircut when I leave. This is the only place I've been where you can get a cup of hot herbal tea upon arrival (that is a blend specifically made for Aveda salons and is delicious!), aromatherapy, a head/neck/shoulder massage, a shampoo, a cut, and a style for the price they give it to you!
