It's really hard to get in classes there because they fill up quick but when we do, the cost is affordable, location is great, and the swim center staff is fantastic. My son's swimming has improved greatly and he was just promoted to Marlin. Yay! While the swim instructors are fun and good with the kids, they seem to come and go. There are two faces that have been consistent and awesome, though, Mark and Kemar. They are always around to answer questions and be kind to the kiddos. We really appreciate that! I'd definitely recommend Pattullo Swim Center. If you want in, prepare to register early! See ya there!

Plenty of room to do your exercises and it's never too busy; bonus is the terrace/deck upstairs where you can take a breather between sets and admire the serene setting. Pool: great for kids, been there plenty and never had anyone complain. There are two hot tubs, a family and an adult. The swim lanes are nice, but I guess can get a bit busy I don't really play tennis (yet), but there lots of courses and thy never look too busy. There is also a good snack bar, just wish the hours could be a little longer/better. I just think it's a great value

Beta Park is a small park in Seaside with two sets of jungle gyms and two swingsets. One set each…read moreis for little kids (toddlers), and the other is for elementary school-aged kids. The ground cover under the playsets is wood chips (yay!); there is also a grassy area east/uphill of the woodchipped area. The play equipment was installed in 2008, and there are several park benches, too, but no picnic tables or barbecue grills. There are also no restrooms and no running water. The grassy area is on a slope, so is not useful for ball games. Due to its location, this park is always windy and a little chilly; bring hats and jackets. On the plus side, you get a nice view of the bay, and even the fog over Marina. This is a nice little neighborhood park for those who live in the neighborhood; it is NOT worth going out of your way for. Unfortunately, many of the park users are slobs: there is always litter in the wood chips, despite the presence of several garbage cans. Some of the (after hours?) users leave cigarette butts and broken glass around. There seems to be a turf war between drug dealers and local residents; last I knew, the residents were ascendant, but I almost always see someone shady walking by when I go. Sometimes, when I take my kids, we're the only ones there. Last time I went, there were a few other families, but I heard no English spoken, except that which came from my family's mouths. Of course, it would be "bigoted" of me to correlate the condition of a park with the people who use it, so I won't. So--a fine park to walk to, but not worth a drive to.

I was worried that 10 minute lessons wouldn't do much but in less than 2 weeks he is opening his eyes under water, floating independently, and starting to swim. I highly recommend Kerri and Monterey Bay ISR! The new pool is great to have a set place for lessons, a changing room, and a bathroom.
