Starting out, my 4 year old was afraid to put her face in the water, but fast forward four sessions later....she was kicking her feet, head down in the water and "ice cream scooping" the water with her hands to swim across the width of the pool.....THEN flipping over to her back to take a big breath...AND then flipping back over to continue swimming. Trisha and her staff (my daughters LOVE Kaitlin and Raquel) are simply amazing. They are endlessly patient, gentle with their instruction, no pressure, and so incredibly supportive. I can't recommend this facility enough if you are looking for swim instruction.

Our…read morechild has attended for a year, through both a summer session and his Kindergarten school year. We love Porter and the people who work there. They have a variety of activities for the kids, offer breakfast before school and snacks in the afternoon, and have genuine care and concern for the children. Unfortunately, as it is located on the former Fort Ord, now the Ord Military Community, and it is funded in part by the Department of Defense, recently DoD policy has made it a military-dependent-only program. Still, if you qualify for it, it's well worth checking out.

The…read morestaff spends more time on their phones out of view of the cameras and not paying attention to the kids. I have witnessed it several times. During the pandemic and currently, kids are seen running around yelling while kids are on their zoom calls. To many times the teachers on the zoom call have to ask the kids that are at Porter to mute their mics. The kids are unable to participate in classes properly or even hear their teachers. To add, if a child is having a difficult time, they coach your child to either throw things at the walls, if they misbehave, they get ipad time, and are allowed to play criminal games on the ipad called Roblox. When parents sit down with staff to address any issues or behaviors, they agree but do not follow through with the suggestions of the parents about their kids. They are not there to help your kids, but there for a paycheck. There have been times where I would go pickup my child from Porter and there is a report. Instead of the staff member for that day approach me professionally, they would place bets on who would run and tell me that my child had a bad day, laughing and carrying on. Very disappointing! Imagine being a service member and the before and after school (full-day) program stresses you the parent more than being in a high stress job already. What does that do for the child? Ill tell, they too feel some type of way. It is not difficult to communicate with parents on how to better provide for your child, it isnt. If they would actually listen and communicate with their staff, there would be progress! It is very stressful when other schools in the area have long waiting list so your stuck with a subpar something. Oh yeah, when you address the issues that you see, if they dont like it, they take it out on you and your child with reports. They dont like when you leave comments on the reports. They expect you to sign and call it a day because when they are audit, those reports are looked at. Choose your kids school wisely, it may save you and your family some stress.

I searched in yelp and couldn't find anything, but as I drove near my parents home I spotted this park. I know that Salinas has a few sunny days during the year, and a park doesn't really sound like a place to be on those overcast days, but for those particularly nice days or for those who don't mind the cold. I was so lucky to have found this location. There is so much this place has to offer, you have a section just for toddlers and another for school age children. Large grass area where kids come and play ball. It's located next to an elementary school and the area is really nice and calm, not too much car traffic. My son had a wonderful time here. This is going to be his park to go to when visiting his grampies :)

Over the years, they have trained in Tang Soo Do and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and have had the opportunity to learn from so many wonderful instructors, especially Maa'm, who has had such a positive impact on them. She is an amazing instructor and a genuinely great person. You can tell that she truly cares about every one of her students. She gets to know them, believes in them, encourages them, and wants to see them succeed not only in martial arts, but in life. Maa'm can be tough, but that is part of what makes her such a great martial arts instructor. Martial arts isn't always supposed to be easy. Maa'm knows when her students are capable of more, and she pushes them because she believes in them. Her toughness comes from a place of caring and wanting her students to become stronger, more disciplined, and more confident. I have personally seen a tremendous change in both of my children. Before joining Kugtar, my son was being bullied at school and struggled with standing up for himself. Since becoming part of Kugtar, his self-esteem and confidence have grown tremendously. Seeing him learn to believe in himself, stand up for himself, and know that he has the skills to defend himself if necessary has meant so much to me as a parent. If you are looking for a martial arts school where your children can learn how to defend themselves while also building confidence, discipline, respect, and character, I highly recommend Kugtar MMA.

My dad was upset but he had a dozen more jumphouse & hundreds chairs and tables so he got over it. Months later my dad saw a live video of a birthday party at the storm house with my dads jumphouse inside the Stormhouse. Apparently the storm house thief Javier started renting the location along with my dads jump house and chairs and tables. The stolen jumphouse, chairs and tables along with the Stormhouse were now Javiers "party package deal". A couple of weeks later a friend of ours told us they saw my dads jumphouse was at the storm house & my dad showed up to speak to the care taker of the Stormhouse & they stated Javier was not there, my dad returned later & said Javier lies and statet someone sold him the jumphouse.
