Service can be a little uneven, but friendly. I ordered the hotels pastrami and Swiss on marble rye with onion rings on the side. For $13, it was a decently deal but a little skimpy on the meat. The onion rings were thin and crispy. I regret not getting the soup since everyone who ordered it around me seemed to enjoy it. The daily soup changes, but when I visited it was bean and bacon. I finished the meal with a saskatoon berry pie. It was warmed, but the crust was soggy and under-done. I was told saskatoon berry was sweet and tart, but in the pie it tasted a lot like blueberries. I enjoyed my visit to the museum and lunch at the Boomtown Cafe.

It is unique, flavourful and worth coming back for (we went twice in the three days we were in the city!) The service was amazing! They are hopping busy but so friendly and willing to explain the menu item. The owners are all about locally sourcing the food so the perogies and sausages are handmade in the province! And they are passionate about making good food - there is nothing bad on the menu. The vibe is an upscale diner. Easy going and somewhere you will want to come back to. Perhaps in the afternoon to have a coffee and a homemade daily special donut??? Didn't get one of those this time.... Guess I know where I'll be stopping on my next trip to the city!

I got the War Pig ($15.5), my boyfriend got the Double Rink Burger ($12) with 2 slices American Cheese ($3) and Back Bacon ($2), a fountain pop ($2.75) and we shared Garlic Fries ($9) with 2 Mayo Dill ($2.5) sauces for dipping. My boyfriend really enjoyed his burger, he would return here again. A man of simple words The burgers are messy, so be prepared to use a bunch of napkins ! He was also very pleased about free drink refills. Our fries were delicious and had an extremely strong garlic taste. I think the fresh minced garlic was sautéd in oil and parsley, giving it such a strong and natural taste. Loved it. Especially because they made house cut fries! While the Mayo Dill was good, I only recommend getting the mayo dill if you get plain fries. My War Pig was phenomenal. It was a double stack of smashed beef using fresh chuck/brisket of a 80/20 % blend and I could taste it was good quality beef. This burger consists of side bacon, back bacon, bourbon bacon jam, LOADED with crispy fried onions, and topped with lettuce, tomato and mustard. Easily one of the best Smash Burgers in Saskatchewan. Wouldn't change a thing. They deliver on their promise of big flavors and generous portions, so you definitely won't leave hungry. All of the ingredients are high quality, fresh, and locally sourced. The lady who took our order was very friendly and provided excellent service. On top of that, the pricing was reasonable considering the portion sizes and overall quality. On an unrelated note, I wholeheartedly loved to watch Jurassic park while we had our dinner!!! I highly recommend this spot and everything we ordered. My only regret was that I didn't have room for a milkshake !

I know the website says not to change the making of anything but, I can't have mustard. We ask to have the mustard on the side. We were told NO. I said "I can't have mustard. Can you please just leave it off?" I was told NO again. So, my husband and I looked over the menu to find something without mustard. We finally found 2 items. Then when they say spicy...they mean HOT. The spicy ketchup on the meatloaf is very hot and The smoked chipotle dip is very hot. I couldn't eat either of them and my husband, who has no problem with hot wings and fire sauce, could not eat them either. To sum up, we did not enjoy our visit. How hard is it to leave mustard off of a sandwich. I wish them luck...but it's definitely not for us.

My egg on the house croissant was cooked very well, and I like it that they really give you a generous amount of micro greens. We also had a praline morning roll (like if a croissant and a cinnamon roll had a wild night and spawned a tasty new surprise) and toasted coconut lattes, which were flavourful and nicely made - good glassware, plenty of ice in the iced one. My only minor gripe is that standing huddled around the one menu posted is hard on my middle-aged eyesight - I couldn't get close enough to see the options and I had to take a photo and enlarge it. Still 100% going back though.
