Less than 24 hours later, my heat is acting up again and he is not guaranteeing his work now and will not come back to resolve the issue without me paying him more money... smh. He charged me $450 for a fan motor and a so called Cap, nonexistent piece. when called out about it on the phone he told me, how else am I supposed to make my money and then threatened to call the police for phone harrassment. I received another quote from somebody else for $650 on the weekend also and he told me all he was trying to do was to beat the estimate of the repair. Now, it has cracked the AC frame and making a very loud noise and I have to get somebody else out here to fix it.

Backing up, we ended up using Solar Energy Solutions because metro government (Louisville) has a program called Solar Over Louisville, in which an independent board helped select a provider that would offer solid service, transparency, and reasonable pricing on hardware and installation. And that's pretty much what we got. The Solar Over Louisville program was given a green light for another year, and I believe they endorsed two providers (including SES) this time around. They gave us quotes for the cost and timeline and they also gave us estimates about the benefits we'd see, based on information about the pitch of our roof, our historical electric usage, and so forth. A year later, I can tell you that they were spot on with the savings estimate. They worked out all the communication with LG&E to set up the permits and the contracts and the net metering. No, we're not off the grid. They can do that sort of thing, but energy storage is still expensive, and that wasn't the point for us. The 30% federal rebate helped a lot too. We're not going to recoup our investment for quite a few years, but rest assured, that will happen. Your situation may be different. The whole process from estimates to actual panels took about three months. So if you want something on your roof before the hot months come along, plan accordingly. Either way, I highly recommend this company based on our experience.

We hired Southern Indiana Roofing to do the work. After a while we had issues with the roof and gutters. I searched and searched but the company was no longer in existence. Last year we had another storm damage issue. We hired a different company to replace the roof. After inspecting it they told us that part of the decking had been damaged by the previous roofers. We had additional cost related to that issue. After a few months we get a phone call from the original roofers. They told us that we had a 20 year warranty and they wanted to schedule an inspection. We asked them where they had been and they said it was there fault. They said they had changed the company name and failed to notify us. I explained what has transpired since they put the roof on. I told them that we had tried to contact them about issues with the gutters and about the broken decking. Matt came out and looked everything over. He apologized and said he wants to make it right. He said they wanted the company to have an honest reputation. He promised to come out on his own time to fix the gutters and put in the gutter foam that he recommended that we buy. We bought the gutter foam and he told us that he was out of town but would do it when he returned. My husband became ill and passed away. After the funeral I contacted Mark again. He had put me off over and over again. Promising to come out and then never coming. So much for their reputation.
