A cockroach. In the bedroom
Nick S.

37 year old male, single father who just relocated from Boston, Massachusetts, to California weeks prior. Hands down the worst living experience I have ever had. As I suspected in hindsight, Solana Ridge was built in 1999. So all else aside, you as a renter, are walking into an incredibly dated premises, that was built 26 years ago, and you are subsequently being charged based on the "market" value, and "inflation". This amounts to you paying the same price for what I am going to outline below, as you could pay, for a brand new property in the same area. When pulling into Solana Ridge apartments at 41754 Margarita Road, you are met with a drab water fountain at the center which aligns with the theme of this entire premises. I moved into this complex in August 2024, and lived here for 3 months. I had 13 work orders in those 3 months. I paid thousands of dollars to to escape this place, 6 days after Christmas. Almost every single appliance broke in 3 months. Both neighbors above me smoked cigarettes at this "non smoking premises". Cock roaches started coming through the bedroom vents a month before I left. (see Images). The amenities are not cared for. The pool area, the gym, the playground; all of these amenities are simply too old and too dated to have actual value, and you are paying a PREMIUM, for all of this. I have screenshots and emails of the exchanges and 13 work orders. Solana ridge did not resolve the cockroaches, or neighbors smoking, or the noise complaints. I communicated everything and SOLANA RIDGE, and the retaliatory nature that Solana Ridge allowed to occur, left me me no choice but to pay to get myself and my 4 year old out of this situation. Solana Ridge allowed for a situation that made my life, and the life of my 4 year old, uncomfortable, unsafe, and unsanitary. I was blessed to move my son and I out of this nightmare, and we live in a brand new facility now where we are paying a price commensurate with the facility. Solana Ridge kept our deposit and wants $200 dollars extra, in addition to the thousands I paid to escape my lease days after Christmas. 1. My son and I left here in wet clothes, on more than one occasion before our dryer broke. 2. I had to throw out food because my freezer was intermittently working 3. My dishwasher washed dishes sometimes. The dishwasher flooded my kitchen on several occasions. I reported this broken washer several times to Solana Ridge, and they simply stopped responding to my input. 4. I was gone for 2 weeks, and because maintenance was performing work next door, power was shut off to the entire kitchen facing side of my unit. I came home to an apartment that was uninhabitable. I had to drag an enormous rotten refrigerator out of my apartment, after driving 7 hours home and getting home at 6AM. (hurt my back doing so). I had to drag this disgusting rotten refrigerator through my apartment past my son's toys, and my belongings and spilled this foul material on myself. When the refrigerator was removed from outside of my apartment, they spilled this foul material everywhere, and half heartedly cleaned up, which I had to follow up with water and bleach, in addition to having to bleach the entire floor in the apartment. You could smell the refrigerator 30-40 feet from the dumpster. I cannot stress how rotten this refrigerator was. I opened the door at 6AM, and you could smell my apartment from the curb. A new fridge was brought on, and when that didnt turn on, Solana turned power in the kitchen back on. No apology. No accomodations. No reimbursement. 5. I put in a work order request to fix my window, which would never lock. Which was ignored and closed. Which prompted me to open a second order showing that I had a piece of wood keeping my window locked. This was not resolved ultimately. Window was never safe/secure. 6. I bumped the awning and bent it with a Uhaul, because there is NOWHERE to unload or to park a Uhaul. Every single awning on the recently paved side of this facility is damaged. I brought the damage to the front desks attention as a courtesy. Even as my insurer was actively working to pay Solana Ridge, a charge that is unassociated with my rent was tacked to my rent and I was met with "NO", when I asked if Solana Ridge if they cold hold off on charging me. 7. I had to physically stop my 4 year old from running anywhere near the trash area every single time we do trash because the areas are so foul, and constantly have trash, and juices, and garbage and filth all over the ground 8. There is nowhere for your guests to park because all tenant abuse the guests spaces. There is "nowhere" to park. So guests park in front of leasing, and leasing threatens to tow those cars several times a week. I have never experienced anything like this in my life at any other place I have ever lived. Solana Ridge refused to accommodate me or my 4 year old in anyway under the guise of the FHA...

ALLEGEDLY $45/month, in RentCafe fees, just to pay rent. Does Snappt or Yardi add on to this fees?

The appliances are of good quality and repairs are made promptly, often on the same day. I doubt I ever waited more than 2-3 days for a repair, and the maintenance team does an excellent job every time. The grounds are kept clean. The landscapers keep the grounds beautiful. It's very quiet. I only needed to make one noise complaint during all those years. The security patrol showed up promptly and took care of it. In the few times we needed to report any kind of rule breaking or disturbance by a neighbor, the office staff was totally responsive. Unlike many other complexes, they never made us feel like we were a nuisance. Instead, they were grateful that we were looking out to help maintain the quality of life in the community. They're on top of everything and always take care of whatever issues come up. They have 2 nice pools and a decently stocked gym. Plenty of guest parking. The office staff always has a friendly greeting and is extremely helpful and efficient. They go above and beyond. If you're in the market for an apartment in Temecula, you won't do better than to get one here! I wish I still lived there but had to relocate for work.

My brother and I went to five different assisted and Memory Care Facilities around the Temecula Murrieta area, and all of their memory cares look like zombieland. Very few caregivers, everybody sitting around doing nothing, no music, no one doing activities no laughing and very very depressing. And then we found Vineyard Ranch. The facility is beautiful and very well-kept. When we walked into the memory care, everybody was out of their rooms and doing something. People were laughing, talking activities were going on everywhere, and staff were visible throughout the rooms. Completely different environment and that made us very, very happy. She has been there for 3 weeks now, and she doesn't mention going home at all. She tells everyone this is her home and that she loves it there. She's always doing an activity and keeping busy. She's made a lot of friends. The food is good and she finishes all of her meals. Staff are always there to keep an eye on everyone. After any exercise, the staff brings everyone protein smoothies. Every Thursday they have an excursion to someplace fun and stimulating. At a time when dealing with a situation like this, it can be extremely stressful and create feelings of guilt. Vineyard Ranch has made the transition smooth, easy, and very pleasant. We are so happy to see Mom happy laughing and involved. Couldn't ask for more than that.

Front office miscommunication issues amongst themselves led to us being bait and switched for our move in date. When I toured the unit and put my deposit down, I was told we could move in as soon as the next week, and I was told to put in a 60 day move in date place holder down. Once the app is approved were told it'll be another month until we can move in. Its costing us lot's of money as the whole reason we picked this place was the fast move in I was assured of, and since we're approved none of our hold or deposit are refundable, so we cant just find a different apartment. Ultimately not a huge deal, unfortunate the front office isn't willing to work with us to resolve this at all, to the point of the manager walking away from me while we were having a calm, adult discussion about it. A second manager was miraculously able to move our date up by a week, even though that was previously impossible due to the maintenance schedule. Now our move in date is only 3 weeks after what was discussed at the time of our deposit.

The property is very clean, the neighbors are genuinely kind, and my mom is already settling in beautifully. My nieces and son toured the grounds and immediately reported back: "This place is cool!" We've already made friends, and even a family who was moving out took time to be kind and helpful. That says a lot about the community here. Huge thank you to Preston and the rest of the leasing team for their professionalism, kindness, and care. We're very grateful. I'd definitely recommend Vista Promenade to families or anyone looking for a calm, welcoming community.
