Left a msg on her cell phone, asking for appt.. I mentioned that I had Groupon on voicemail. No response. I then leave a text shortly after, inquiring about an appt., did not mention Groupon in text. I got a response & made an appointment w/ Courtney in a months time. (Apparently 1st "available" appt.), according to Courtney. Received a text about acceptable forms of payment. I then mentioned Groupon, again. Day of appt. Courtney texted and cancelled about an hour before appt., saying she would call me to reschedule. Never called me. So I texted and asked to reschedule. Crickets...... NEVER heard from this woman again. Very professional, Courtney. Not only do you make yourself look bad but you bring down the salon you work at as well. If you don't want to honor Groupons then don't sign up for them. It's pretty simple. So sorry I'm not worth your time. I'm a Santa Cruz local, born and raised. She yanked a comb through my long hair repeatedly while combing it out after the wash leaving my head pretty sore, cut way too much off the ends, and used thinning scissors on my hair for I don't know what reason. I'm guessing because I have thick, curly hair it was an easy way for her to get some of the bulk out without doing the work of actually layering and shaping my hair. Since my cut, my hair has been much more frizzy due to her thinning out my hair, and now it will take a few years to grow it out. She is labeled as a "master stylist" but honestly I would not agree. I will definitely be looking for another hair salon.

I came in October and they were definitely feeling the spooky Halloween vibes. They have a restroom available for use and an arcade machine to burn some time on if you are waiting for your turn. I made an appointment (and they do 30 minute blocks) but was able to walk in early when they opened. Men's haircut is $25 which is a very reasonable price. I worked with Yareli who was very sweet and even offered some life tips while getting my cut done. She was intentional in asking to make sure what I wanted was happening, and that I liked the end product. In about 20 minutes, I was done and dusted with a new fresh cut. You can pay with your digital wallet, card, or cash. Don't forget to ask for a stamp card - your 5th visit will be $5 off! Small parking lot out in front so easy to drop in and get the business done.
