It's convenient and in a good location in middle of town. I'm shocked that such a small market could have everything you need and I mean everything. But the prices are ridiculous. It was $11 for a pack of water. If driving bring what you can before you get there because it seemed like all the markets in Springdale are way overpriced. read more

Nostalgic and wonderful, a throwback in time but modernized. My husband and I were in town 5 days and we ate here 4 times, chili is good, salads are fresh, love the little eating patio out front, just a charming place to be. TL;DR Everything you could possibly want or need but at obscenely high prices. Sol Foods is centrally located in Springdale, about halfway through the shuttle route, and it carries everything from kombucha to sunscreen, postcards to peanut butter. I was very surprised by both the quantity and variety of things they sell. $5 minimum for credit cards, however, don't worry about not hitting it; I don't think they sell a single thing below that price point. read more

Wow.... Where to start... Went to this place to pick up some hot chocolate packets for our hotel stay near the park. It was busy and which I didn't mind, but the cashier was chatting it up with everyone though there were six of us in line. And it's late. About ten pm. I could swallow even that, but as I approached the cashier, his entire demeanor changed (chilly) and said curtly that there is a $5 minimum for credit cards. That was the last draw. I said that no thanks, and walked out. The store is immaculately stocked, super clean, and everything looks fresh. But holy cow, if that's the service I get, forget about it! read more

It's rare to have a grocery store near a national park entrance. Usually you'll encounter a "general store" stocked with camp food and over-priced TV dinners. Not the case here! They have a huge assortment of goods here. It trends more towards the "Whole Foods" side of grocery stores. That is to say: fancy stuff but...high prices. They also have a great selection of beer (despite it only being 4% abv (3.2% abWEIGHT), blame the Mormons. For stronger beer, you'll have to go to a liquor store). Probably still better to stock up in SLC or Vegas. But if you're not a planner this is WAY BETTER than any gas station/food mart fare on the drive out. read more

this is a very cute grocery store and they make alright coffee but do NOT i repeat DO NOT order their food (at least for breakfast) I got the steak and potatoes burrito and my friend got a bacon and egg bagel. The burrito i got had ingredients that were already made and scooped in to the flour tortilla. it tasted old but i was starving and ate it anyway. BIG MISTAKE before going out for a long hike.. we had to turn around to go home and get tums/zantac. I burped and had heartburn for hours. My friend also got indigestion after her bagel. Sol Foods definitely gives me a Whole Foods vibe but with a local flavor. They carry most everything you may need or have forgotten to get. I needed a quick bite before hiking in Zion and Sol Foods was the perfect spot to grab and go. Other than the pre-packaged meals in the fridge, there are also custom made sandwiches, wraps, a salad buffet, soups, and pastries all at the back of the supermarket. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the service was so friendly (we even got tips on parking in this insanely packed area!). Prices for groceries can be expensive but I thought it was reasonable given the location and convenience. If you're looking for cheap groceries, be prepared and shop earlier before you get to Springdale. Otherwise, this is a great spot to pick up some quick food if you're on the go! read more

Nice selection of food items and alcoholic drinks. We grabbed some pre-made deli items for lunch. The checkout line is slow only one cashier. There are regular shoppers who live in the area and the line will be very slow if the regulars are stocking up on groceries for the week. I liked their flexible store hours and basement parking which was a bit tight for trucks and SUVs. From a convenience standpoint this is a great store. Prices may not be the cheapest but for the convenience it is a decent shopping experience. read more

I mean first thing is first they got you and can charge what they want being one of the only stores in the area. So the bad reviews about price I don't put much weight into. I used to get haircuts at a downtown New Orleans place called the "Clip Joint," a charming old-school barbershop with timeless Y'at characters doing the barbering. (RIP, Jerry.) Great spot, and actually very reasonably priced. Sol Foods is a real-deal clip joint, which the apparent lack of quality grocery competition in Springdale has allowed the operators to get away with. The grocery prices here are the most unaccountably beyond-the-pale exorbitant that I've ever seen in the United States. I know Springdale is situated at the entrance of one of the country's most beloved national parks, and that the town is understandably rather expensive, but Sol Foods is way, way over the top of Springdale's already expensive scale. Most of the grocery items we bought were priced almost 100% (ONE HUNDRED PERCENT--that's no typo) above what you'll pay if you stop at (for example) Davis Food & Drug in La Verkin, which is only about 20 minutes to the west of here. The Davis store is nothing fancy, but it is clean and altogether serviceable and has just about everything you'll need. Yeah, the Sol Foods store is admittedly kind of nice. Not nice enough to charge anything close to these prices, though. If you're coming into Springdale/Zion from I-15, stopping in Hurricane or La Verkin to grocery-shop is a no-brainer. It's even a no-brainer if you're coming in from the east, assuming that you're buying more than a few items (like we were) and have 40 minutes or so to spare (like we did). (These last two sentences amount to an admission that we did not use our brains this time.) read more

Nice to find a market in Springdale that sells organic, non-GMO products. We opted to pick up a quick salad here for lunch and found their salad bar. Reasonably priced at $7.99 a pound, there were a good number of options to choose from to build your salad. The only item I wished they had was mushrooms. Next to the salad bar was their soup station, offering 2 types of soups daily. Vegetable and Wild Rice with Chicken were offered on this Sunday, and for $3.49, we helped ourselves to a hearty bowl of vegetable soup, which was nicely seasoned with a slight peppery kick, and large chunks of vegetables. Prices didn't seem tow exorbitant, and the staffers who assisted us were quite friendly and very helpful. Nice place to shop. They also have tables in their front patio, so it was nice to have a casual lunch while taking in the views of Zion in the background. read more

They have a sandwich/pizza place in the back where they can make you custom eats but on the side of the store, they also sell pre-packaged sandwiches which were just as good for us to pick up and take on a day trip into Zion. read more

Be prepared to hemorrhage money when shopping here. Everything is 2-3 times what you might pay at your local grocery store. The pot pie I pay under $3 for at home is $8.88. I did not buy it. We bought a cheap corkscrew and a small container of chicken salad and it was $18. The curry chicken salad was actually bad, not even bleh. Sol foods is a little grocery shop in the middle of Springdale and it also offers a salad bar and fresh sandwiches which makes it perfect for a quick affordable lunch while on the move. We stopped here twice while hiking Zion to get a quick bite and not waste precious time that we could use at the park. I had the chicken Salad and chicken curry salad wraps and they were really good. The salad bar has a wide variety of options and is charged by the pound. Great alternative to a full service restaurant and maybe some of the best meals we had in Springdale. The prices are a bit higher than on a "regular" grocery store but it's probably because of the location , the hungry tourists and the lack of better options in tiny Springdale. read more

If you are not considering the prices, this is a pretty cool little market. It has a very good selection, almost everything that you could need, including meats cheeses and a deli section. Also produce and personal products. Again, almost everything except liquor, but they do have beer. I really quite like this store. On the other hand, if you do figure a price into the equation, This store is a disaster. Everything is twice as expensive as you would find it somewhere else. But there really is nowhere else. This is a great little market. Expensive but has everything you need. We went in a couple of times. The second time we went to the deli in the back to order sandwiches. We stood for almost 5 minutes without anyone acknowledging we were there. There were about 3-4 people working, no one in line before us and yet no one asked us if we needed assistance. When I did ask if they were even open the girl said fill out what you want on the paper and put it in the basket and I'll make it for you....abrupt and rude. This store has everything you need, and I guess if you were staying in Springdale and didn't want to drive 15 or so miles up the road to a much cheaper store, this place, and I think one more little market, is your only option. Great grocery store with tons of health foods (tofu, vegan cheeses, faux meats, etc) along with your every day conventional items. Fresh fruits and vegetables. Hot soups to go, made to order sandwiches, pizzas. It's kind of like a mini Whole Foods at the top of a mountain. I see people complaining about price but not only are you paying for high quality foods, but you are paying for it in a remote location. Great salad bar and vegan friendly! After a day hiking the Narrows, I don't want to wait for a sit down meal and Sol Foods offered some good vegan options at their salad bar. Before I arrived in Zion's National Park, I feared that my diet would purely rely on cereal bars; luckily, Sol Foods that is 5 min away from Zion's showed up as my savior. I am happy with the wide selection of snacks, fruits and drinks. In addition, it is the one of the few places that are still open after 10 p.m. As the only grocery store in the area, Sol Foods' price point is on par with Whole Food's. My biggest issue with Sol Foods is the bad refrigeration of some of the fruits, leading to the rotting of the strawberries. Note that each plastic bag in Sol's costs 50 cents. Overall, if you are looking for snacks before and after hiking at Zion's, you should definitely stop by Sol Foods. read more

For a grocery store in small town Utah they pack a huge variety of quality foods, like better than every grocery store in the "city" where you would expect a stellar selection. First off, yes this store is close to Zion Park and convenient. Yes, they have a good selection. However, their prices are beyond exorbitant. For example, a lb of butter, 4 sticks, was almost $9! A can of Campbell's condensed soup, near $4. If one needs groceries while at Zion, I recommend driving the 20 miles to Hurricane Utah to stock up. High prices? Yes. Worth the price? Definitely not! I'm from a tourist town myself so I understand price hikes. I can't justify paying 10 dollars for a sandwich I can easily purchase for 3 at a Wal Mart. Definitely thr price you pay when you come unprepared but lesson learned. I also decided to purchase some beverages and to my surprise, I had to pay 26 dollars for a 12pk of seltzers. My grocery list included the beverages mentioned above, 2 sandwiches, a pack of Genoa salami, 1 garden salad, 2 bags of doritos, 1lt coke and a soup. All for the low low price of 156 dollars! Again, the price you pay for not being prepared. Rather than spend the same amount of money again to purchase some food for my hikes, I located a Wal Mart in Hurricane about 25 minutes away. Suffice to say I purchase twice the amount of food for a third of the price. Adorable food market catering to tourists who want to grab and go for a quick bite for before, during, or after hiking at Zion National Park. Came here to gather some last min food and supplies for our camping trip. This place is cute little store. They have everything you need! Wood, meat, camping supplies and all sorts of food. The staff was friendly and they have a little road runner that comes out to hang out in front of the store named Ronnie! We saw him and he was a cool little guy and fun to watch. The prices were a little high but they have good stuff. Also, their home made baked goods near the meat section towards the back are PHENOMENAL! Those tasted so good next to the campfire at our camp. We will for sure be back when we are in town again. read more
