OMG! Ive never seen or heard of this place. Thank God for Kendall hooking Eliters up with free Ice Cream! This is definitely a little Hispanic gem in Haltom City. Here's, what I enjoyed about this Mexican Ice Cream shop. It's very easy to get to, it's located right next to a Taco Bell. The Cashier was the nicest Mexican girl out there. She said, they have been in business for 7 to 8 months and the owner has another location in Irving. There were two other Hispanic ladies working in the Ice Cream Shop. You can sample a lot of Ice creams before you choose the one that you want. I chose a simple Mexican Vanilla Ice Cream. It was so good, it was just the taste I was looking for, it was extra sweet. She said, they use a different kind of Vanilla that makes it taste that way. They have lots of flavors to choose from. I think she said there were like 24 flavors. Just to name a few were Cookies and Creme, Coconut and Mangonada. If you want a sweet experience come here for some sweet ice cream to get a little taste of the sweetness of Mexico. read more

I'm used to driving by Haltom, never do I stop by. Haltom, unfortunately, is every bit of what people have described it to be, desolate and in serious need of clean-up. Now, this is a cute little shop. There's so much to take in and of course, the ice cream. I was surprised to see avocado and pistachio ice cream, it was okay. The flavors weren't bold enough, but it was creamy. I didn't sample the flavors, I still had a few more stops to make and dairy isn't always my best friend. I ended up getting the Ferrero Rocher ice cream, it was alright. Again, I didn't think the flavor was bold enough. Rocher is known for their hazelnut and that's what I expected to taste, I didn't get that. I don't think I will visit again, but I'm happy I was able to experience this hidden treat. What better way to beat this heat than with some ice cream! The two little minions and I made it here around 4pm on a Saturday, and it was not crowded. We were immediately welcomed by friendly faces. There are numerous ice cream flavors to choose from. After sampling a few, I decided to go with the cappuccino Oreo. Minion #1 wanted chocolate and Minion #2 wanted sprinkles. They enjoyed theirs a lot and so did I. Keep in mind that the place is small and there's only outdoor seatings. There's also a drive-thru there. I really like the conchinadas, they are packed with cheese and corn that actually taste good. The aguas frescas are really really really good, I always get at least 2 large aguas frescas for myself when I go. The limon & pepino, horchata and hibiscus are my favorite. The ice cream is really good as well. The staff has always been friendly and answer any questions that we have, they even give recommendations on what to get. I went through the drive-thru and the wait was quick. The drive-thru menu prices are lower than the actual prices. The lady who took my order was sweet and kind. I noticed you may need tor report your order a couple of times to make sure it's understood. I ordered two plain churros which were warm and tasted fresh. I love this place don't get me wrong but I was recently very disappointed with everything, first of all once you go in there no one ever greets you they just stare, second everyone one is running around doing a order for drive thru mean while customers inside are just waiting to be asked what we need.. is just very disorganized!! this last time the lady serving us took forever to give us our elote (which by the way was very watery really nasty) then we ordered a mangonada and then she goes on an talks to the other lady and they just start talking while there is 2 more customers waiting to be helped... finally we received our stuff and we grabbed some goody bags they have upfront we pay and leave.. my husband is a sucker for sweets so once we are home he decides he wants a sweet well he opens he's goody bag and starts eating he then tells me some candy taste weird or hard is just not good so I'm like let me see! I was craving a mangonada so I chose this place since there isn't too many options near me for something like this. It was terrible. One thing to say, the churros were touched by God himself, at the one I went to which I believe was this place there was only one worker doing drive-thru and front desk. Also the medium size milkshake is a tad bit pricey but the taste made it just that worth it. I'm happy to say I'll be back soon. read more

Sweetest spot in Haltom! The best and freshest aguas frescas I've ever had! The fruit cups and elote cups are a nice treat with great toppings and variety. They have homemade paletas are delicious without being super sweet. This is our new favorite refreshment /snack spot for sure! Each visit has been less satisfying..only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because my girls are always satisfied with the ice cream. Corn seems to be canned corn.. regular parm cheese and the "Chile" is wayyy too spicy every time I go. There's no in between. Anyway, today's visit was interesting. While I was ordering, the girl kept repeating my order incorrectly. I kept fixing it for her so I knew I was gonna end up having something wrong with my order. I asked for no Mayo in my corn.. I got mayo. I asked for fruit in a cup "preparado" (which is 89 cents extra) and she brought it back plain. I said "oh, I asked for preparado" She had the the audacity to roll her eyes and tell me" I asked you and you said no, but I'll go prepare it for you" So fast forward I do the math while I wait and my total included the extra 89 cents. She comes back, goes back to the register, I can see she's trying to add the extra charge and guess what, she has nothing to add because I DID in fact order it in the first place. So she was rude for no reason. I left her a $5 tip only because they were busy and I could tell she was embarrassed to take it. Anyway, every other time we've been here, it's like they're annoyed to have a customer come in. They make you feel unwelcomed. So this will be my last time. We've gone three times in hopes of having authentic churros and each time they didn't have them. Maybe just take them off the menu if you're not going to have them available? On one of those occasions they offered us a free dessert to try to say sorry for the inconvenience, which was really nice of that employee, but I don't think it's standard practice. Homemade Mexican Ice cream as good as I've had in these parts, the store has nice space nothing fancy here just good Mexican sweets at an affordable price with great service and fun atmosphere. Menu includes elotes, popsicles,candies,mangoneada,agua frescas, nachos, churros. We could have had a little of it all for under 20 bucks total..! I have been wanting fruit with cream for the loooooongest time and my boyfriend finally found the most amazing place!! The restaurant is clean and welcoming. The employees are helpful and fast. They have a variety of desserts and other snacks to indulge in!!! Their portions are generous and the prices on their desserts are great!! I got their fruit with cream and it did not disappoint!! The fruit is fresh and the topping was perfect! My boyfriend got their fruit cup. He loved it and appreciated the generous helping of all their toppings! Helados la azteca was great, however Sol Dias so far has been an okay experience. I don't like the layout of the place, it's small, which is great for a place like this, however you don't really see anything like you would usually see at another treat shop like this. The food items, aren't as displayed as their previous location, everything you want to order is on a display menu, doesn't really have much photos. The stands are so high you can't even see what they have for sale. If you are short like me, you won't be able to see what flavors of ice cream or fruits they have. Doesn't seem like there's that much candy or chips here, slim pickings. I just ordered from the menu. The churros was good, I got it with the caramel. The mangonada was my favorite from this purchase, love the spices and sauce on it. I didn't not like the elotes, it was not fresh corn and it was already preseasoned, which i did not know and ended up adding extra which ruined the taste of my cup. I was craving some savory Mexican snacks so my husband and I decided to give this a go. The place is not high class looking, and reminds me a lot of candy shops in Mexico, which makes it all that more authentic feeling. We ordered a Pineapple Mangonada, Rusa and Tostilocos. Pineapple Mangonada was good, the pineapple came from a concentrate and was very sweet, too sweet for me perfect for my husband. I've never tried the Rusa and was glad I did! The spicy salty flavor of the chili sauce combined with the soda was refreshing and the pieces of fruits inside were coated in all that goodness. However, some of the mangoes were not ripe yet, and I had to remove the hard parts. The Tostilocos was a wild card. First of all, I don't know why I ordered something with cueros (pickled pig skin) if I absolutely hate them, but I did anyways. I tried a piece, and yes still hate it. So I put all the cueros to the side. Everything else, however, was surprisingly delicious! If you told me that I would enjoy combining the flavors of chips, Japanese peanuts, chunks of cucumber and jicama and chaca chaca (tamarind balls) drizzled in chamoy I would not have believed you! We also ordered some chicharrones de harina and a huge bottle of Tajin. The ladies where very sweet and helpful, we will be coming back to try some ice cream and other snacks for sure! read more
