I became a customer of Soft Water Plus when High Peaks decided not to do residential services. My only concern with this company is with their billing. I will send in my rental payment and even though they did receive it, I still get an invoice. I have responded after each invoice but they continue to send them out. I have asked them to call me but have not had any response. Since their invoices seem to be sent out toward the end of the month, I sent in my rental payment for this month 2 weeks prior but still received an invoice the other day. I have sent a response today and will probably not hear from them since that is their MO. read more

Pete, and his guys ( Jonathan and Mark) are like having family work on your home...except you don't worry if they're doing it right. I mean that they are lovely to work with and have in your home. Jonathan cane out to replace our hot water heater 13 months ago. That went beautifully. Today we had a soft water system, full home filter, and RO installed. The house was built in 2004 and wasn't plumbed for it so this was more complicated. Additionally the waterline is on the opposite side of the garage so the system had to go outside instead of in the garage. Pete and his team showed up and knocked the whole job out in less 5 hours. They are very tidy and conscientious. We did get three bids for this job, mostly to educate myself. I'm 3rd gen AZ native and I've never had soft water. I thought it was some fancy pants bs that an easterner thought up to sell to midwesterners. And then my kitchen faucet disintegrated. And my (first ever) bathroom granite countertops were showing hard water wear. First guy (thru Costco) was insanely expensive and suggested putting the units in the front yard on the side of the house....uh, vandalism??? No thanks. Second company was very nice and thorough and would have got the job if we didn't already know, and Love, Pete and his work. Pete immediately spoke of the unit going in the backyard. His quote was spot on. His work is impeccable. Ps the Sunday before he was to install this system our pressure regulator started leaking. Pete came out on a Sunday to fix this so we wouldn't have a leak for three days. I can't say enough good things about him, and his guys. Our water heater and old soft water system gave out right around the holidays. I got estimates from Home Depot and Lowe's first and then called Soft Water Plus. Their installed price on the water heater and an excellent soft water system was far lower than just the cost of the installed water heater through Home Depot or Lowe's vendors. Nearly a year after the original installation the pressure relief valve on the top of the water heater failed and they came out the same day and replaced it under warranty. Hadn't planned to be calling someone for plumbing services over this July 4th weekend, but a stripped spigot handle caused it to be exactly the case. Not sure how much water we lost over last night, it had to be taken care of. After having used Soft Water Plus for 6+ years, we knew that we'd have to "call Pete". I've had Pete come to our house in Anthem twice. The first time was to disconnect our expensive water heater when we moved then to reconnect it (along with a new valve for car washing) in the new house. He was on time, had the parts the job needed and cleaned up afterward (that's actually a bigger deal than it sounds). The second time was to change our RO filters. I schedule an appointment for Friday, between 1130-1430, to have my water softener installed. I took the day off so that I could be home for this. At approximately 0940, the company called me to cancel my appointment. The reason given to me was that they had other customers call in that morning with water heaters that went out. I'm sympathetic to their hot water going out, but if the company was completely booked with appointments, they should have informed those customers to call another plumbing company and obligated the appointments they had already booked. They asked if I could reschedule a week and a half later, which was unacceptable to me. I asked if they could do it Monday (which I had off), and cancel one of the appointments they had scheduled that day; after all, they already cancelled my appointment. They wouldn't budge, so I told them to forget about it, not going to bother with this company ever again. read more

Zero stars actually but not am option. I had my water softener installed 3.5 yrs ago. I recently had a bad water leak. I thought a pipe busted in the wall of my laundry room, but after a plumber did an inspection, it was actually the water softener drain pipe that was improperly installed (not secured in place AT ALL). This has been leaking off and on (without my knowledge) all along. It was so flimsy, if you blew on it, the pipe would move ot of place and then would drain all over the floor. When I contacted SoftWater Plus, the receptionist was very kind and understanding. She sent a technician to do an assessment 3 days later. The tech said that we did have a strap in place to hold the pipe still but the builders put it way up in the wall (too high). I said, "ok, but shouldn't the original installer have noticed this and communicated that the drain pipe was loose so we could secure it another way?!" He say "oh absolutely, yes." Then he had to report his findings to the boss, Pete Schneider, who called me to let me know that it was in NO WAY their fault. It was "the builder's fault". When I said his tech should have secured it another way, he smirked and laughed as if that was a ridiculous notion. This company will take NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY OF THEIR MISTAKES AND WILL LEAVE YOU HIGH AND DRY (I mean wet!) when you need them. Take your business elsewhere!!! read more

I went to this firm because they bought out the company I purchased my last water softener from. The previous company were wonderful with the installation and always right there for service even after 5 years when I had them come do a check up on it. They didn't charge anything. Soft Water Plus is only interested in installation and NOT interested in service. A month after my water softener was installation I could not get consistent soft water. Called the office and the woman who answers the phone was more interested in the big project they were installing then servicing an already installed softener. She was sure I had soft water but they would come out in 3 weeks to check it. When they did come out it did needed to be adjusted. It was left on factory setting and not set to my needs. A month later no soft water again. I called again. I informed the woman that again the soft water was not consistent and asked that they come out again. Again, I was told that they had a big project going on and could not be out for another 3 weeks. She said that I probably did have soft water and didn't know it, like I didn't know what soft water was. Told her it was inconsistent and it probably would be soft when they came out. She informed me that if they came back out and the water was soft they would charge me a trip charge. The softener is only 4 month old and they want to charge me. I told her I had a sample of the water and she said they would pick up the sample when they were in the area and test it to see if it was soft. I picked up a test kit and tested it myself. The water tested hard. It has been two months since that call and no one has picked up the sample. Obviously not interested in service When I purchased the softener they said they were in the area all the time and that I could purchase my salt from them and they would deliver it within a couple of days. And now they have not been in the area for two months. Again they only want to sell not service. I wonder if I ordered salt from them would they be in the area. I WOULD NOT recommend this company. read more
