Can't ever complain about a visit to Handel's!…read more Always great service, great ice cream, and reasonable prices for the quality and quantity! First time trying a milkshake from Handel's and they know how to make a damn good Oreo shake!! Thick, rich, and actually looks like it has Oreos in it! Ask for it extra thick!

This place is stupid…read more Their ice cream is fine. It's very tasty and yummy. But their portion system is ridiculous. It's $6.00 for a "small" cup or cone. This "small" is essentially *three large scoops of ice cream*. Now, I don't know about you, and I'm advanced in my years and trying to lose a little bit of weight, so I really don't need to be eating 3 massive scoops of ice cream at a time, but I've asked them if I can just get *one scoop* (which is still a huge scoop) and they say that I'd *still have to pay $6.00 for it - even if I only wanted one scoop, I'd still have to pay six dollars for it. Why can't you charge me *$3* for *1 scoop* (if two more of those would make six dollars)?!? This is why Americans are so overweight, because we have these ridiculous, insanely huge portions that are totally ridiculous. There's no reason a human being has to eat 3 massive scoops of ice cream, in one sitting. I don't care how old you are or what your metabolism is. Unless you're an Olympic athlete, eating 3 scoops of ice cream is not good for anyone, as delicious as it is (and it was delicious). I really wish they would change this, because I like this store and they have a really great business model, except for this one stupid thing.

On my way out I saw someone sitting there and turns out it was one of the owners, Roy. I asked him for food suggestions. I went and got my food and came back. My Bestie Sis was in dessert heaven and was raving about her sundae. I am lactose intolerant so I was going to get sorbet. Again Joelle was so helpful and asked what I liked and offered samples to anything I wanted. I stuck with the vegan options. I originally wanted blueberry sorbet but after I tried the mangonada I was hooked. Joelle says it pairs with the strawberry sorbet nicely. It was soooo refreshing. It really tasted fresh and homemade. Not too sweet and not too tart. Amazing creamy frosty delight. We really appreciated Roy giving us the intel on the recipes and process. Hopefully we didn't bother him too much. It made the gelato and sorbet even better getting to talk to him. It's located on Ventura, west of Van Nuys. Parking is not super ADA accessible. I suggest dropping off your party and parking the car Velvet is open late, until midnight. It's really delicious and a perfect treat for this Valley weather.

Yes they have a parking lot but there's only ONE way in and ONE way out. I had to go around the block. There are quite a few businesses in this corner strip mall. I saw 1 ADA parking spot. But not knowing where the business was I pulled into the first spot I saw. You cannot enter through the back from the parking lot. So if you have mobility issues it might be rough. There is absolutely no street parking at all. The entire curb is red. Sooooo many choices! The employee was very patient and helpful. Hawaiian shave ice, raspados, dole whip, slushees...I ended up getting a sunny pineapple float. Pineapple soft serve, chamoy and tajin. I think there was pineapple juice or some liquid. Fresh chunks of pineapple. It was everything I needed on a hot day. Sweet, refreshing, and delicious. There is no seating inside. The three of us barely fit to order our food. I would go more often if the seating was inside.

Came in to a few messy yogurt machines and the plain tart that had to be restocked. Usually most Yogurtland's I have been to have two plain tarts running knowing that is the most popular yogurt. Which then created a backup of customers waiting to get their fill. The worker seemed annoyed when the customer before me asked how much longer they needed to wait for the yogurt. With the workers response being "it should be ready" Their toppings area was nice and orderly but once I was ready to check out I wasn't greeted or given a speciality Toy Story spoon for the two cups I ordered. I'm not sure if it was because I didn't reach my spend amount or because she just didn't feeling like making my daughter's day. Having two cups of yogurts you would think you would alternate spoons and try to make a child's day by offering one Toy Story Spoon and one regular one. I almost wanted to ask her for one but didn't. And I didn't think too much of it until after I left. Guess it just goes to show the level of care and appreciation the workers have for their customers at this location. This place lost a customer.

Cool, friendly employees, reasonable prices considering how much a lot of food trucks charge now a day. Their Philly cheesesteak is honestly one of the best I've had in Los Angeles and can easily stand alongside some of the most talked-about cheesesteaks around. The quality of the meat and cheese is noticeably better than what you find at most places, and every bite tastes fresh and well thought out. YOU GOTTA GET THE OTB PHILLY. What really sets them apart is their signature pepper sauce that comes with this specific sandwich. It adds a unique flavor that perfectly complements the sandwich without overpowering it. It's one of those little details that makes you keep thinking about the meal long after you've finished it. I had high hopes for Jawny's Philly Cheesesteaks after hearing so much about it, but honestly, it was a disappointment when I tried it. This place completely exceeded my expectations and is the spot I'll be coming back to. It's always great to support hardworking young entrepreneurs, especially when they're putting out food this good. Highly recommend!! MUST TRY! Can be compared to Matu, it's THAT good.
