So now was really howling it was yummy and decent experience since I was taking mom out with us too. And let me tell you, we were so happy with our service and food. The chef's are absolutely amazing, the waitress was kind and very competent. We honestly have nothing but positive things to say. I always strive for a wholesome healthy kids menu as we have two crunchy kids (6 and 3) and hate when us adults eat wholesome food and the kids menu is garbage, and let me tell you their food was all made from scratch, so wholesome and delicious. They shared a kids pizza with white sauce, chicken nuggets meal (which is a breaded Milanesa style cut up) with big curly fries that gave potatoe wedges vibes, and we had Garlic Spicy Chicken pasta which's was so absolutely delicious and full of bold flavors, my a rib eye steak meal that very well cooked full of flavor and juicy, and an adult size chicken Alfredo pasta. We were so happy, and went back the next day for lunch. This was 5/10/26... and today it's 5/13 and we're heading back there again! Highly recommend. I did think about taking pics, but I was so hungry and in the moment. Ambiance is nice and kid friendly, which we appreciate.

When I got here pretty much empty as you can see in the pictures. I went to bar thought I get faster service, but no super slow. Now as for food I never got menu so why even bother ordering food at that point. Definitely this is a no go for me.

We were on our way home from the 17-Mile Drive and wanted to get dinner before our long drive back. I found Padrino Restaurant on Yelp, and we decided to give it a try. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted and seated. I loved that they provide the table with a pitcher of water, but I do wish it was a little larger. We ordered the kids' food while we looked over the menu. This restaurant is a little more expensive than most Mexican restaurants. A kids' quesadilla was $8 with no sides included. We ordered a side of rice and beans for the kids to share since they were $4 each. My oldest got two fried quesadillas, and my youngest got one regular quesadilla. They don't automatically bring out chips and salsa, but they do offer them. I actually don't mind that because it can feel wasteful to give them to every table when not everyone will eat them. I understand the choice. I ordered the Stuffed Chilaquiles with beef. I loved the flavors. They were definitely different from what I am used to, but still very delicious. The asada was seasoned really well, although don't expect a huge portion of meat. I would give this 4/5 stars. My husband ordered the Enchiladas Rojas with a side of rice and beans (for an extra charge). He did not like the sauce at all because it was more like a dark mole sauce than the red sauce he is used to. I traded plates with him, and I actually liked it. It had a darker flavor than what I am used to, but it was still delicious. I would give this 3/5 stars. My mother-in-law ordered the Green Enchiladas. They were very different--they were more like flautas covered in green sauce. Still good, just not what we expected. I would give them 3/5 stars. I am happy we got to try it, and the service was great. I am just not sure if I would come back again. That may simply be because we are so used to the flavors and style of food we grew up with.

Service is always warm and friendly. The bartender is always greeting people and the waitresses are always checking on you. The food is great! My husband always orders the trio enchiladas. I normally get the Arroz a la ezkina because it reminds me of a paella. I tried the street tacos and fajita too. Cons Sometimes the arroz can be salty. This Spanish/Mexican restaurant is simply EXCEPTIONAL. It's located across from the Post Office in Walnut Creek, just a short distance from the swanky North Main Street restaurant and bar scene. "Ezkina" is Basque for the Spanish word "esquina" which means "corner," and you can spot the difference the minute you walk in: real cotton/linen napkins on every table - none of the polyester or paper nonsense. Order a drink. Every cocktail is top-of-the-line. My wife had a margarita, and I had a Manhattan. Did the bartender go to Harvard's Bar Tender's School? We savored every sip. We enjoy trying new dishes, so this time I had the Chicken Mole De La Casa, and my wife had the Huitlacoche Stuffed Chicken (Huitlacoche adds sort of a smoky, woody, mushroom, and black truffle taste to the dish). Both were out-of-this-world delicious. AND, as a surprise, they offered an off-menu dessert: Carajillo Bread Pudding (a rich spiked bread pudding with notes of coffee and Licor 43 topped with vanilla ice cream). So the next time you're heading to the Post Office, bring a thirst for something new and visit Ezkina... there's a ton of free parking behind the restaurant. Main Street eat your heart out.
