Sofia's Antojitos is one of those neighborhood gems that both surprise and delight. Tucked in a small strip mall, the interior isn't the most elegant but it's certainly functional. Because it is so busy one shares a large table which is what happens in Mexico so chalk that up to authenticity. One orders at the counter here and we were greeted by Lila who was not only extremely friendly but extremely helpful in guiding us through their menu. The emphasis at Sofia's is on authentic street food with birria at the center of their offerings. We were presented with a wide range of tempting options and Lila recommended the Machete - handmade masa birria quesadilla stuffed with cheese and a choice of between 6 or 7 meats. She said that one of the meats needed to be the pork carnitas which was braised, shredded, then friend in lard. Lila's suggestion did not disappoint and would have been at home in a Michoacán cafe. We added pollo asado for the other half; machete is a huge dish and Lila told us that it would be more than enough for us to share. Because we wanted to try another dish we also ordered the nachos which was smothered in a cheese and birria sauce. The birria adobo was exceptional - the piquant chilis were perfectly complemented by a blend of vinegar and spices. This version of nachos puts to shame all of the nachos served up in the sports bars of America. Sofia's has a range of sweets but we noticed that the most popular was the ice cream with churros. Served in a large glass, our butter pecan was spiked with seven house made churros that were traditional cinnamon and caramel. Finally, Sofia's has a full bar. We ordered margaritas which were generous and flavorful This is a cozy spot serving traditional and authentic Mexican fare that we highly recommend. read more

The place is cute, great service and I think would be well received by most. It lost stars due to the lack of menu items without meat and cheese. My son thought the chicken burrito was too spicy. So we won't be coming back. read more

Coming from LA / Orange County California, I have found it very challenging to find a great taco shop. Well this place has now caught my attention. First time eating here and it was absolutely amazing, the flavors are and the options are perfect. I do t think I'll be going to another taco shop for a while. read more

What a great find! So happy we finally tried this spot. I had been hearing about it for ages and everyone had been raving about it. EVERYONE was right!! The staff is very accommodating and friendly. It's counter service and they bring the food out very quickly. There are plenty of tables available and the space is clean and well kept. They have a great mural that occupies the entire back wall and is a great focal point. I ordered the quesabirria plate and an agua Fresca. My husband had a burrito and also ordered two churros. The tacos were excellent, very flavorful and filling. The agua Fresca was delicious and refreshing. My husband loved his burrito. We both tried the churros. Our favorite was the strawberry over the caramel which I thought I would prefer. Overall a delicious experience. I definitely recommend this local spot, it was a hit! read more

I've been here before but not at the Tutt location. I was able to bring my family and ordered a wide variety of dishes. I loved how clean it is, and the decor inside. Handful of tables inside, well lit, great space for bigger parties too. I forgot to ask the guy's name behind the register, but he had an amazing personality and ordering was a no pressure thing. Hidden in a little hideaway beside a car wash is Sofia's Anojitos, unassuming and humble. But their food screams out for attention because it is amazing! We started with the nachos, a gigantic plate of crispy fried tortilla chips drenched in toppings, including large slices of avocado. Then I got the huevos rancheros - two perfectly cooked eggs covered in red salsa with a heaping side of refried beans and potatoes. Filling and tasty, I would recommend these to anyone looking for a good meal. Finally, we got an "appetizer" fruit plate, but it was the size of a huge hubcap with mounds and mounds of the freshest fruit! Definitely worth seeking out if you're in Colorado Springs, what a novel little find. If you haven't tried Sofia's Antojitos, you're absolutely missing out on some of the best food in Colorado! Super friendly. Decently fast. Great atmosphere. This place closes at 9 and was still getting walk ins when we left at 845. We can the carnitas chimichanga and quesabirria tacos. Both were amazing. I can't tell you how many "fried" chinichangas I've had that come out soggy. This one was crispy. Eating the crisp tortilla with the carnitas and flavorful salsa was amazing. I found this Mexican restaurant in a strip mall close to my hotel. I ordered the ceviche, as well as, one chicken, shrimp, al pastor and Barbacoa, taco. All had good flavor and were seasoned well but the ceviche by far was the best dish. The decor is a bit dated but don't let its appearance fool you. It's definitely worth a visit. read more

Sofia's Antojitos is a fantastic Mexican restaurant that stands out on its variety of birria dishes. We had the pizza birria and the quesabirria tacos. The birria pizza was delicious and unique, the birria itself was tasty but not too strong of a flavor. The crust was thick which was good to hold up to the weight of all the cheese and toppings. The consome was good for dipping the crust edge in. The pizza was pretty large in size and could easily feed two people. The quesabirria tacos were the highlight dish as the corn tortillas mix so well with the birria and cheese. I do wish the tortillas were fried a little more to get a harder crispier texture on the tortillas. The salsas were descent enough, you had a pretty standard red and green salsa that weren't spicy. Then there was a cream like habanero salsa that was spicy but had an absolutely terrible flavor. The restaurant set up is a little weird, you order at the front but the menu isn't on display just in a menu book at the front. Staff was very friendly. Will be excited to come back. read more

We've been here many times and always get great service. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere has a very chill vibe. We love the beautiful artwork as soon as you walk in. We ordered the quesabirria, birria burrito, carne asada burrito, mini pancakes and the platano frito (fried plantains) with condensed milk. Everything tasted great except the birria burrito was huge so it was a bit dry in the inside. I dipped it in the consome and it didn't add to the flavor. I came here on a recommendation from a family member and after seeing many mentions of it on social media. Worth it! I have gone to other taco places and hate when they don't cook the tortilla and the filling falls out. Definitely not the case here! We've previously visited the other (original) location and taken friends there, so when we realized a new location was opening within walking distance of us, we were overjoyed. While running errands and waiting on an oil change today, we decided to stop in and check out the new spot. OMG so glad we did! The new location is smaller but brighter and true to form. Like its sister, this one has a beautiful mural on the far wall and uses melamine plates and classic red baskets, which you bus yourself at the end of your meal. I ordered the tacos al pastor and barbacoa on corn tortillas. These aren't street tacos, but regular-sized tacos, so come hungry! Al pastor was my favorite--full of flavor! Hubs had the quesabirria tacos and ramen, which I had to try. Everything was delicious and came out pretty fast. My salsa was very spicy but yummy. His was much milder. Came in for the first time with high hopes as I had heard great things about this place. Ordered menudo and a burrito to go. The menudo container was only 3/4 full and the cilantro/onion they hardly gave anything. You can see in the container pic and how much it was in a bowl, definitely not as much as other places. The burrito was small as well. We paid $30 for both items which we don't mind paying for food but for the price i feel they skimped out on what we paid for and the food taste was just so so. We're from the west coast and love our Mexican food, it's been difficult to find an authentic place. Sadly this place was not what we hoped for we will not be going back. read more

Had no idea it would be this good! The Cubano Torta was huge and stuff with all the good stuff! Just a well made sandwich that easily fed two adults. And don't skip the $2 Pacificos Mon-Thursday..topped off by filled churros, hot from the fryer. The cream filled churro won iver the caramel filled. Just a great meal at a super reasonable price. Wow! I am so impressed with this place. We just went here for breakfast so I can only speak to that but what we had was absolutely delicious and makes us want to go back and try other things! The breakfast taco was very tasty, we got our with chorizo. The chilaquiles was very good too and it was our first time trying the dish in general. It was a big portion and even comes with tortilla of your choice on the side and a meat. We got ours with Al pastor which was well seasoned and flavorful. Overall the combination of the various elements and textures in the dish made for a very tasty bite. The decor and ambiance is really nice too. Service was good and quick. We'll be back!! read more

Sofia Antojitos is now in Woodland Park, Colorado! My husband and I tried this new restaurant after seeing their Colorado Springs reviews on Yelp and it did not disappoint. My husband had the two (2) taco meal with fajita chicken, and I had a beef burrito. Both were very good, fresh and ample, the service was great, and the wait was minimal. We drove 30 min to check out this place as the facebook page, COS Foodies has folks on there raving about the Birrias and chile rellanos at Sophia's. The shop, itself, is not a full service oriented restaurant. You walk up to the counter to order. If you are lucky, there is a line & that will give you time to grab a menu to figure out what to order. It might be better if you check online, ahead of time, so you don't inconvenience others in line. But, who knows if the online menu photos are up to date? Maybe just hang back and decide before you actually get in line to order. After paying, we took our number to our table to await the cups of water we had ordered. I asked if we could just get it ourselves at the fountain & was told that they would bring it out to us as the fountain was just for sodas and the water was in the back. So we waited. After 8 min, I asked the lovely young lady delivering plates to the table near us of we could please get some water. It came out 6 min later with our chips and the DELICIOUS (and not spicy) salsa and chips. That is just a weird way to handle water drinkers. Hubby ordered 1 red & 1 green rellanos and a side of their spicy habanero sauce. They were just okay. I ordered the 3 Birrias Tacos & they were not as good as those at Las Americas. The consommé (for dipping) tasted "watered down" and actually took away from the flavor of the tacos. There was 1/2 the meat we are used to getting and they were not something I would come back for. The mural on the wall was beautiful, there are TV's for side entertainment and the staff was very friendly. But, as I am always straightforward in my reviews... I have to say that ima not heading back anytime soon. I gave an extra star for the super nice, and patient guy who tool our order and his very cool curly mustache. (Yes, I time things at restaurants like greet time, food delivery time, make note of when the bill is dropped and how long until it returns for to me to sign, etc. ... because I used to be a restaurant mgr.
