When we moved five years ago to Wilsonville, one of the highlights of this town are its open spaces and how family-friendly it is. This is just one of many parks in town. It's expansive too! It is located right across the street from the library and they offer so much-- water play (Murase Plaza), structured play, event spaces, nature play, tennis courts, soccer and baseball field, skate park, nature trails, disc golf, and fishing/boat dock. It is also stunning during the fall season with the trees in orange, red, and yellow. Parks and Rec are always maintaining this place. The latest addition to the park is the natural playground, and that is where we took our toddler recently. She LOVED it. She made some friends pretending to fish in the canoe and hang out in the teepees. The sand pit is a big hit too. Whether you're a family visiting or a local, I highly recommend checking this place out.

Great park for kids | water play & events…read more This is an excellent place to let your kids, of all ages, go and get their energy out. It's right across the street from the library, which is also another great family-friendly place to frequent. If you're a mom looking to find places where you can let your kids play and get out of the house, this is your spot. There is a little library stand where people can pick a book and give another in return. I love these because it really adds to the sense of community and help share the love for learning/reading. The first play set is more for the younger kids, up to 5 yrs old. The second play set is more for the 5-12yr olds, but as long as you're watching your baby in the bigger kid area, you'll be fine. One thing I like is the seesaw because kids work together to accomplish the seesaw effect. It's a hit! Another great feature is the super long slide! Kids love this as well. They're currently doing construction at the park, adding another neat structure and should be done soon. A few hundred feet away are two bucket swings. I like that the flooring is the recycled rubber unlike the main play area with tan bark. I wish the parks in town didn't have tan bark. It gets everywhere, mushrooms grow in it, and you get splinters. During the summer, you'll see the splash pad turned on for kids to enjoy. It's a great way to have fun outside cooling down from hot summer heat. A lot of kids walk on top of those big blocks and it makes me nervous, so I recommend this for older kids. If you have younger kids, I recommend the Korean Memorial Park splash pad.

Located at the top of Sunset Boulevard, this park has a very well maintained baseball field, lacrosse/soccer field with artificial turf and electronic scoreboard, tennis and basketball courts and multiple play structures. The water feature is set up like a stream, rather than a spray ground, and really the entire park was very well designed to provide a little bit of everything for the community. As a venue for watching a game, I loved the gentle slope that provided plenty of seating for parents to either set up chairs or blankets on different levels. Even though it all looks very modern, the park has a nice amount of mature trees to provide shade and a large covered structure for parties and gatherings that is essential for events 10 months out of the year. They even had a concession stand running during our visit so you could buy food and have a picnic. I kind of hope we have more games out in Sherwood.

There's a long walking trail that covers the outer edge of the park, a playground area at the top of the hill for the kids, a tennis court, basketball court, and a baseball field. It's a good place to run laps, walk your dog, play ball, or unwind from a long day. Take a walk down by the creek, and read the informational signs to learn about the history of the park, the species of animals you may encounter, and how the bioswale along the southern edge of the park purifies the water and prevents trash from being washed into the waterways.

I had to use the restroom while I was there. First, at a park that has a play-set for 2-year-olds (never mind kids who have siblings), there's no baby changing table. And second, there's no soap dispenser. Not just no soap, no way to supply it. There's an air dryer (no towels)...in other words, nothing to keep stocked. But no soap in the restroom? Ew. Otherwise it was fine, seemed well-maintained, etc. But uninspired. If you live close by it's likely worth it, but I wouldn't bother to drive there. The views of the river aren't as good as at lower Memorial Park, and the playground isn't as good as the upper part of Memorial Park.

This is a relatively new neighborhood park [1] on the west side of town along Wilsonville Road…read more While it is supposed to have a nature theme, it actually feels quite stark compared to some of the other parks in town. From my perspective, it feels like it has a higher percentage of pavement to open grassy areas. But, I know the intent was to mix education with nature and it is nice they were able to preserve some of the old growth trees. I view it more as a resource for the adjoining apartment complex and homes rather than a destination park. Probably the best feature is a rocky swale that captures rainwater. Kids do love to splash! If you want to visit a great park in Wilsonville, there are definitely better options with more to do. But, Engleman has the basics covered... play structure, picnic benches, meandering path. Based on the location, there isn't a designated parking lot, so you just need to park in the neighborhood and walk in. [1] Formerly known as Montebello Park, the park was expanded in 2013 after the city received funds from an Oregon State Parks grant and corporate support from Xerox Corporation.
