Great park for kids! Great path for any easy walk along the river. Adjustable basketball hoops (something I've never seen in a public park before).

Ohmygoodness. I think that this park is quite wonderful and beautiful and intelligently planned, and this is coming from the eyes and experiences of a mother with a one year old. It's close to our place, and I like that it is a bit hidden inside a neighborhood. There is a baseball diamond that is well maintained. There is a garden that grows flowers and fruits and vegetables, but it is gated. There is a little walking path by the river. There is a little history lesson about the Willamette Meteorite. There is a playground for older children. There is a playground for younger children. Both playgrounds are fantastic and clean. There is a basketball court where you can adjust the heights of the hoops for children or adults. Overall, I enjoy this park, and my child does as well. We'll be checking into this park a lot more in the future.

Geese napping on the rocks in the river.

Great place to bring the fam and a picnic! Baseball diamond nearby the parking lot, a play structure, plenty of paved walkways great for bikes, strollers, etc., and also lots of signage with natural history about the formation about the river/valley/etc. Not a great place to go for a long run, walk, etc. as there are very short pathways here. Nice park overall and well kempt.

Was blown away on the drive out from Portland, coming down 43 following the Williamette River. The area and neighborhoods surrounding this park are just beautiful. The park itself is everything you want it to be. Swings and play structures for the kids and a water fountain/splash play area popular in the warm weaver. Bathrooms. Basketball courts. Tennis courts. Walking paths. Covered picnic area and large open field. We attended one of the Music in the Park concerts and the band was Girl Can't Help It, a Journey cover band. They were absolutely fantastic! Totally rocked it! They are playing on the Spirit of Portland in September. There was a very large crowd gathered on the large rolling green field, but it never felt crowded; everyone had plenty of space. The Music was hopping so there were lots of people dancing in front of the stage. There were families and groups of friends everywhere picnicing and enjoying the music. What a fun evening! The free music and concerts in the park is one of my favorite summer activities. Now that I have discovered Tanner Creek Park, I will proactively seek out their schedule so I can enjoy music here often. It as just that good!

Good for all ages. --Tied for best water feature (the revamped one in Willamette Park is fun too) Tanner Creek is home to the Music in the Park summer concert series and is a popular meeting place for families and teens all year round. West Linn is a mix of natural/traditional parks, best represented by Willamette and Mary S. Young, and new parks that have popped up in the newer housing developments that are much more state of the art. Tanner Creek has a nice covered structure for parties, tennis and basketball courts, and large grassy fields. The only thing that is missing is river access. That is why most of my time is spent at Willamette Park.

There is a playground for little kids and a separate one for the bigger kids. Decent shade over the play structures but not fully shaded in summer so bring sunscreen. There is a large field that was mostly flat when I traversed it. Bathrooms were available and were about as good as you could expect from public restrooms. The major drawback of this place is that most of the property is sloped. Definitely doesn't make for an easy way to explore, but it's not bad if you're in good shape and don't mind going up and down sloped areas. Not the best park in this area, but also not the worst. I prefer Roy Rogers for me and my family, which is less than five minutes north, but that's just me.

I love a good all ages park…read more Midhill Park makes the most of its hilly terrain, by having areas for different groups throughout the space on terraced sections. There are two separate, but adjacent, play structures. One for toddlers and another larger area with more challenging and engaging structures for older children. And it was nice to have a restroom right by the toddler area. So many local parks that are in the heart of neighborhoods don't have facilities. A paved path that weaves throughout the space that would be great for bikes or skateboards. It does have some mild hills, so it can be a challenge or a breeze depending on your direction. And probably my favorite part, a large grassy field that is ideal for soccer, touch football or frisbee. Kudos to the park designers on this one. The only downside I observed is minimal parking.
