I was in the market for a new sofa/love seat and had seen this store on State Street often. Rather than buying from a chain store, I wanted to support a local merchant. Walking in, I was surprised by the large selection of styles and fabrics. Greeted warmly by Sofia, she assisted me and answered all of my questions. Unless a floor sample is requested, every piece is custom made. Once I had made my fabric and firmness selection, she called the factory in Los Angeles, to make sure they had or could get the fabric. I was told that the piece would be ready and delivered in about 8 weeks. I added an ottoman to the order about 3 weeks later. Much to my surprise, within less than 6 weeks of the order, I received a call from Vincent, who runs the shop in Los Angeles, saying that the order was ready for delivery. The crew delivering the furniture was friendly and respectful of the property. For a reasonable fee, they took away the older piece of furniture. I ordered a couch from Sofu U Love in 2019. It's a fully custom experience so I got exactly what I wanted - color, material, legs, size. I was lucky to order right before the pandemic because it got (and continues to get) a lot of use. I love this couch. I recently wanted to get an ottoman to match. Sofia at the SB location was able to find my order specifications from 2019, make some calls and order the same material and legs for me and patiently worked with me to get everything exactly the same as my couch. It was easy to park in the public lot behind the store and I only had to wait for a few minutes while Silvia finished with an appointment. I'm not an easy customer to please but Silvia took the time to explain the different models and options to me. I chose a custom fabric and had specific measurements I needed done right to fit in my house. I left a deposit and a few weeks later my couch was delivered. I bought an admittedly attractive sofa, but I have had so much trouble with it I have had to order a higher quality sofa from an other source. After reading previous reviews about poor service, I can tell you that was far from my experience. The furniture was delivered on the day promised. The delivery men were quick and thorough. There were no manufacturing flaws, puckering or loose threads as other reviews complained about. Our only issue was the back cushion of the chair was overstuffed and too firm, and one seat cushion on the sectional too soft in comparison to the others. The delivery men took note and came back THE NEXT DAY! They brought a person who works on cushions at the factory to re-stuff the chair cushion and replace the sectional cushion. NOW I CALL THAT SERVICE! We are extremely happy with the furniture, and looking forward to many years of enjoyment and comfort. read more

Now, two moves later we broke one of the legs on the couch. I went in to see if I could order a replacement and Chryssa was extremely helpful. They didn't have the exact size of our current leg so she sold me four new ones for next to nothing. Nothing had to be ordered, I was in and out in 10 minutes. There seem to be just two women who work there, I dealt with Michele. I was in there so many times trying to make up my mind, and she was always professional, super friendly, and was really able to help me figure out what I wanted. I'm not real great at visualizing things. She told me she had been selling furniture for many years, and it really shows. Ask for her. No high pressure, very helpful. Because the bad news is the other woman who works there. Her name is Chrissy I think. I had called to ask when the salesperson I had already been working with would be in, and Chrissy kept insisting I should come in right then and see her. I told her I preferred to continue with Michele, but this chick wouldn't stop. I don't know how much commission they make, but obviously she wanted it all for herself. So low rent, to be so greedy to try to steal your co workers business. Guess that's the best she can manage. I've had that happen, and there isn't much you can do. No longer a fan of this company. I purchased two sofas, the slip covers rode up when you sat down, the seat cushion and back cushions were not made as requested. Their quality has gone down and their customer service is lacking. The sales lady, Krissa, was great when she sold me the sofa but did not go to bat for me when things went wrong. (Perhaps she has many fires to put out already?) I am currently trying to get my couches re-done. It took weeks to get them to respond to my complaint. Thankfully i purchased with credit card and was able to file a dispute. They picked up my sofas last Thursday 5-10. I will post again when the sofas come back.
