One is an incredible sea-green, just the right depth with a matching striped ottoman (soft in tone); the other is an amazing retro hot pink couch (also one long cushion) for the bedroom seating area. Working with Michelle was a pleasure, as she listens to what you want, offers helpful suggestions and insights, and assists to meet your decorating needs. You make an appointment, so you are not interrupted every five minutes as often happens at chain retail outlets. At COUCH you receive undivided attention. Plus the prices are reasonable. This is an update of my previous review. Michele is now refusing delivery of my small claims summons. This is truly unprofessional !!! If Michele feels she doesn't have any responsibility for what happened to my couch she should be more than willing to explain herself in small claims court to the judge and let the judge decide. Please see photo of attempts at service! Updates as of 11/18/22 11 am Michele that is a blatant lie that you have not been contacted about the service of the small claims summons! I can't serve you myself as that is against the law. I hired a process sever to serve you and I have documentation from them that you canceled their appointment and refused to reschedule . They have left you multiple emails and phone messages regarding the delivery of legal paperwork which you have not responded to. I never leave reviews, but looking at my couch I got from Michele over a year ago, I'm still in love. It's so comfortable and looks beautiful still...despite me and my cats best efforts. Michele was so patient with me while I picked out my fabric, asked her endless questions, and asked her them all over again. It was a very big purchase for me and Michele made me feel like it was equally important to her. You just don't get that kind of "human experience" in retail anymore. We are beyond words pleased with our Newport couch from here. After a satisfying experience in the store and placing our order, we were told it could take up to 4 weeks for delivery. We received a call it was ready in about 10 days! We were so excited for it to arrive, only we miscalculated its entry through our front door. We ended up hiring Unique Movers of Ventura County and they did the job a couple days later lifting it carefully and safely over our balcony. My husband and I now quite content relaxing on our couch after a long day of work. We are convinced our next piece of furniture will be from here, and we look forward to it and seeing Michele again. We went here and immediately fell in love with a coffee table on display at this store. So much, in fact, that we asked if we might buy it, even given that we lived in Denver! We were told that the table was made by a local artisan based in Santa Barbara, which sealed the deal for us. We placed the order on the spot, and they said they would be in touch with shipping confirmation shortly. Two months later, and after multiple calls to the store, they finally confirmed shipment (which they said was coming from the store and was delayed due to the local artist having to make it) to our home in Denver. Imagine out surprise when the box arrived a week later, direct from India. Disappointment doesn't begin to describe how we felt after waiting for two months and paying $800 for a "local" coffee table direct shipped from India. It has been noted that this store hasn't sold a coffee table in the last six months, and I'm sure that's true. Our experience was closer to two years ago, and it was indeed at Couch Santa Barbara. Had a couch built to our specifications: Fabric, color, cushion density, size (we knocked off a couple inches so it would fit snug in our apartment). Everything down to the T is customizable. They estimated up to 4 weeks for delivery, and I was quite pleased when it arrived in 10 days. The couches come with a lifetime frame warranty, and a cushion resiliency warranty of 2 years, and I can attest that they honor that warranty. I had some issues with the couch and notified the owner, Michelle, of them and she went above and beyond my expectations to address them. The issues required the couch being sent back to the manufacture and Michelle arranged to have a loaner couch delivered to us while ours was being worked on. I didn't expect her to do that. That was pretty awesome. I wanted a couch that would stand the test of time, so I decided to splurge at "couch" and I feel like I have something that will last for years to come. I can't speak enough to the credit of their customer service. If you have an issue, don't be shy to raise your voice, they will listen to you and be fair about it. read more

Custom-built couches for the same (or less) price as you'll get a pre-made couch in any big furniture store (Ethan Allen, Room & Board, H.D. Buttercup, etc.). Now that's something to be impressed by. The couch I got was exactly what I wanted, and it's quite nice - certainly better than what I saw at many other places. And I mean, exactly. Custom couches. Crazy. The only downside is that there are soooo many models to chose but the showroom only has a small selection to look at, and they weren't great at showing how modifications to height or depth of couches would actually play out with the model purchased if its not there. So, there was definitely an element of "I hope I didn't accidentally get something I'll hate!" to the whole thing. Also, kind of a weird vibe in the showroom. Very hipster. But, great couch, and one I couldn't get exactly like that anywhere else without paying waaaaay more. read more

Fantastic job, and quick turn around. My husband and I bought the "Dulce" model from couch in SB. We do a lot of entertaining and since we bought it, we have had a lot of really positive reviews. Their light fixtures, table lamps, coffee and side tables are like nothing I've seen for nearly half the price at designer stores. Very chic and unique store that won't break your bank! Delighted with the service (and patience in helping me finalize my decision) and incredible turnaround time. I expected a 4-6 week turnaround and was thrilled when I ordered on Friday, November 22 and the couch arrived on Saturday, November 30. It was exactly as ordered. I had looked and looked elsewhere and the prices I found were far higher than Couch SB for what appeared to be a comparable quality. Another place I went to based the delivery charge on the cost of the couch, which was a real turn off. Couch SB had a flat fee for delivery in my area. I am pleased with what appears to be very durable fabric (and I had some great choices from their fabric line), smart design, ability to customize depth, meet my request for a specific number of seat/back cushions, and offer other design options; all at no additional cost. There was no high pressure. I love my new couch--it looks great with my other furniture--and I expect to get many years of use. Great product...great service...reasonable price...works for me! read more

There are almost too many choices when buying a upholstered chair, sofa and/or ottoman. Very quickly Leah responded by email to my initial inquiry and later in the shop she understood my preferences in color, style and fabric quickly. Many times I'd passed by this store and never took a look in (I even mistook it for a Coach leather store). The shopping experience was attentive, without pressure, lots of comfortable and good looking choices. I'm still considering what to do, however thus far feel that Couch Santa Barbara is worth shopping at - the experience feels more personal than a big department store. read more

Buying a sofa can be a PITA! We looked high and low for a style we liked, (never mind the price) and began to think our (at least) 60 year old, three times re-covered, once rebuilt, comfortable, family relic of a couch might actually be reborn like the Phoenix again.... Then a miracle occurred and we discovered Couch Santa Barbara! They had a model quite similar to the only one we had liked anywhere in our 2-year long search AT HALF THE PRICE! And they built it to our exact required length at no extra charge. Michelle and Eve were helpful without being pushy. Eve was especially intuitive and guided us through fabric choices and measurements for an ottoman instead of the connected "lounge" section of the couch. When it arrived there had been a mix up at the factory of the height of the ottoman and they promptly rebuilt it to the proper dimensions. We have purchased three pieces of furniture from couch (two sofas and one chair), and were able to design each one to our satisfaction. They are beautiful pieces and comfortable enough to sleep on. Since there is the opportunity to design your own piece from measurements, materials, footings, etc. of other models I advise you measure and take full responsibility in being accurate about what you are designing. This is a small local business that offers the unusual opportunity of providing a uniquely crafted piece of furniture, so be sure to confirm measurements, notes, and follow up on any questions before the signing your invoice, including making sure tax and shipping are included. Our first order arrived in error due to dimensions; the proprietress, Michele was amazing and gracious, she had the couch and chair returned to the shop, and two new pieces made to the dimensions we agreed to arrived 3 weeks later. Two years later we designed and ordered our third piece, beautiful and perfect. The pricing and quality cannot be matched elsewhere in Santa Barbara County. read more
