I saw their advertisement for first month free. And no where did it say anything about paying a fee for the containers. I signed up online and got an invoice for the first month )we start January 19th and I've already paid my current company for January and $30 for the RETURN of the containers (someday)for pickup and cleaning, I called SOCO today and was told the free month isn't until the second month and the $30 was indeed for some future date if and when we stopped service. This company is a complete disaster. They failed to pick up my trash, ignored multiple messages, and couldn't be bothered to fix their mistake after I paid them to do a basic job. I followed all the rules--they just didn't show up. Their customer service is nonexistent. You'll be lucky to get any response at all, and when you do, it's excuses and empty promises. I've had to chase them down just to get what I already paid for, and even then--nothing. If you value your time, money, or sanity, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. This has been one of the most frustrating and unprofessional experiences I've had with any company. I've since canceled my service and told them to come get their cans--because clearly, they can't handle the trash. They also lied and said they called, I would love to have their phone records audited because we both know they didnt. I've been very happy with SOCO ever since I switched when Waste Management became GFL. The cost is reasonable and services have been very consistent. However, DO NOT trust their Autopayments via their website when it comes to charging based on the current account balance. I made a payment earlier this month using an e-check because I wanted to go ahead and get accounts zeroed out, however, I was just charged again this morning via the auto-payment system. I was then told that they keep 3% on card refunds. Again, I've been very happy with their services but seems a little unfair to charge me for their billing system not being able to account for payments already having been made. That should just be a reasonable "cost of business" to account for their system's mistake. Auto-payment is now turned... *off*. read more

I just wanted to say again, thank you. I am not the best customer. We sometimes forget to put our cans out on time and there's really no excuse because we've had some sort of trash service for our whole lives. But you really are the best service. And the people you have running your trucks are class acts. The last big wind storm we didn't trust the cans at the curb so we put them way up next to the garage so they wouldn't blow away. We thought we would just skip the week since we weren't sure if anyone would be running with the wind. Your people came and got them, emptied them and put them back all the way up by the garage. OMG! I have never I my life had such bad service with anyone or any company like I have with SOCO Waste. They didn't dump my trash for 4 weeks straight and I called every week. My account was paid in full, but my neighbor who never pays their bill gets their trash dumped by SOCO. They continue to say they will or have fixed the problem and then again my trash doesn't get dumped. Then they say they will come back out in 1-3 days to dump and still don't. I even called one morning to make sure they were going to dump my trash and was told they haven't been there yet but we will make sure it does. Then again I come home and guess what, they didn't dump my trash. This is on a Friday so I have to wait till Monday before I go through the whole song and dance again. I am horrid at leaving my trash in the right place (and its MY FAULT) and he constantly helps me and still empties my trash, I need to grow up and put my trash on the cub like a normal person. So this is an update to my review after hearing back from the customer service manager: My initial problem: SOCO was recommended to us when we moved into town as a local, friendly service. That seemed to be true until I was billed for recycling service that I had canceled only a few weeks before. When I called to fix the problem, I was met with a sarcastic, belittling "customer service" rep, and the problem was not corrected. I was told she was "sorry" I was upset (a non-apology) with their billing system and offered no correction. When I pressed the issue, her responses were increasingly rude. I was then placed in a loop of left messages and no return phone calls from the customer service manager I asked to speak to. The prices are good, but this kind of treatment is not good. What I heard once I received a call from the customer service manager: SOCO does have a way to correct the bill, and I was not forced to stay with the confusing and incorrect bill for services I did not receive. The customer service manager was professional, courteous, and quick to correct the problem as well as mention she needed to show her staff how to cancel service properly such that it does not show up on the next quarter's bill. She restored my confidence in their service. I had only yesterday recommended SOCO to a neighbor and was thinking I needed to rescind that recommendation. I feel like I can let it stand now. read more

Trash man took my brand new in box radiator with protective film on it that was leaning on the fence a foot away from the recycle bin. They sent me an email telling me it's not their fault and they expect me to get the delivery service to replace it. 8 days and I can't even get a call back from anyone. Have been a customer for over a year and missed for the first time putting my trash out at night and my recycle was not picked up. My husband got it out at 7a and they said they were there at 7:01 but the route starts at 7a and I'm not the first person on the route? Then when I spoke to CS I was preached too about getting my garbage out by 7a and it's a courtesy to come pick it back up or a fee of $35. So the route starts at 7a and you were at my house as a second stop at 7:01? Don't think so... poor customer service found a new carrier. I love the responses! By all means I have no reason to lie, I'm grown. I wouldn't have gotten upset if I had not been chastised by your CS REP who worked 17 yrs at Springs Waste, who cares. She said I'm the 2nd stop (verbatim) from your (old springs waste) employee and he was at my house at 7:01a? Could it possibly be that he started early and got to my house before 7a? Absolutely!! But instead of the owner saying I'm so sorry for the mix up, you listen to the Office Mgr, whomever she is, and leave a response like you did. I never yelled and I never hung up on anyone. My pic shows 7:01a and my husband pulling the can at 7:03a. NO PICK UP at 7:01. It's all about CS when customer competition is what it is in COS for garbage PU. Your business is based on service and picking up a customer recycle should be the least you do if the times are sketchy. It doesn't add up. But who cares right? I got cheaper service through waste connection with larger cans, so I'm happy. read more

All I needed was a roll-away dumpster and SOCO delivered the trailer on time, called me to determine the perfect location for drop off and made sure it was ready for pickup the day before removal of the dumpster. I since have called them over 20 times and left messages and emails with absolutely no response. Moved to a new neighborhood 3 months ago and tried SoCo Waste. The service guys did a great job and was always on time. I though the price was fair, but then I discovered some hidden costs I was not aware of. They charged $30.00 to drop off their bin. OK. Then I noticed they were charging $1.50 for any additional bag over one left outside the bin. Very petty, I typically gave the guys a couple dollars as a tip whenever they picked up more. Funny how they never give credit when your bin isn't full? Then when you cancel they charge you $40.00 to power wash the bin, no matter how clean or how long you had service, me 3 months. I decided to go with a less expensive company per month ($16.00 flat fee) up to 5 extra bags no charge, no drop off fee, no cleaning fee. read more

Also, Levi is another great driver on my route. I learned that even the owner drives the trucks picking up trash. Worst service in Colorado Springs. I had nothing but problems with their billing and drivers. Tried to cancel multiple times, but they'd always convince me to stay, but it only seemed so they'd have time to retaliate. They don't pick up then take pictures to say you didn't have your bins out, except the pictures are taken from 200 ft away where the bins are hidden behind trees so it looks like they're not out even when they are. They never used to come before 2 pm so I got into a habit of taking my bins out at 7:15 am to keep bears from getting to my bins. So after complaining about their billing they decided to start showing up at 7 am exactly and would drive past me AS I was rolling my bins out. Super petty. My complaint about their billing was that they would only send notices three months in advance and 2 weeks late, but not in any reasonable time frame. I was regularly being charged a late fee because of their erroneous billing. AND they arbitrarily enrolled me in (optional) paper billing and were charging me for it! I would never sign up for that and never did. The customer service people I have spoken to are snarky and rude, and I honestly wish I had canceled long ago when I first tried to. We have trash service with SOCO waste and overall, they are decent. Randomly they don't pick up our recycling and we have to live with a full bin for another week or drag it down on a different day. But recently we rented a roll-off as we tore out about 2000 sq ft of carpet and pad. We were well within the allotted weight for the bin rented (you couldn't even see the trash over the walls of the bin). We pre-paid for the use of the roll-off. A week or so after pick-up, we received another bill for the roll-off as they claim we were over our allotted weight of 3 tons and weighted in at 7.03 TONS. for carpet. We are engineers in this household, so we quickly did some math to figure out what would have had to been in that roll-off to make that weight. And we called SOCO...they weren't interested in helping us resolve this situation and told us 'that's what the weight tickets came in at'. I am super disappointed in their response and lack of quality control over a service that they provided. Another company looking to cheap people out of their money. read more
