It was a wonderful surprise to see new specials each time! We tried the Alligator Sausage on a roll with shrimp and a yummy spicy slaw, Smoked 1/2 Chicken with "White BBQ Sauce" country potatoes, and Bourbon sautéed fresh picked spinach! The next week we had North Atlantic Mussels cooked in garlic, butter and wine with some yummy toasted bead to dip in the sauce, Smoked Meatloaf on a bed of Creamed Spinach and topped with crispy Tobacco Onions! As an appetizer we got Wings with a white BBQ sauce... We had to try their Desserts, we had amazing homemade Carrot Cake and Sugar Cream Pie... My wife got the salmon and baked potato and said the salmon was just ok. I could tell the baked potato was heated in a microwave and my wife said it wasn't completely cooked. I got the bacon burger and home fries. The burger had two small pieces of bacon and they give you a pack of mayo. The patty was a frozen patty and I expected the bun to be toasted and it wasn't. I love a good bacon burger and give this burger a 4 out of 10 score. The home fries were from a bag and heated, not really that good either. We sat on the deck overlooking the water and marina. It was seat yourself, but we needed 4 seats. So while we waited by the door two men sitting at a 6 'top' table heard we would need the bigger table so they moved to a two top and gracefully gave us the 6 top. Very nice of them! Our server was the adorable MISSY! What a hoot! The visiting cousin was with her new fiancé and we were just meeting him that day. (He is a GREAT guy with a funny sense of humor... we approve;) Missy and David (fiancé) hit it off and she knew who 'pick on', and we all had great laughs! So much so that I think other people were leaning in to hear the jokes and fun stories! Cousin is GF and Missy was terrific in following up on her requests. I ordered a grilled chicken dinner. With mac'n cheese and okra. She went in the kitchen. 2 minutes later, the cook comes out and says they didn't thaw out any chicken for grilled chicken. So I went with the breaded chicken. It wasn't really an option on the menu, it's for chicken sandwiches, but it ended up being pretty nice. The fried okra was even quite fresh tasting. The mac' n cheese was probably from yesterday, microwaved and sprinkled with shredded cheese. Not great. I probably won't be back. I'm a truck driver just passing through. Also check out the store which has cast iron cookware, clothing specials, decorations, candy, books and tapes. Cracker Barrel is old fashioned goodness.
