Matsuda glasses
Jason N.

The last time I wore a pair of glasses that I owe was a very long time ago ( in 2015) and I knew it was time for a eye check up and plus a new pair of glasses to go along with it. Thank you to the Socialeyes Prosper Staff, Dr. Tammy, and Dr. Lynn for making this process smooth for me, as I will be rocking a new pair of Matsuda glasses confidently. I feel blessed to see them and the staff for always taking care of me with there great customer service and I look forward for my next appointment.

The whole appointment was amazing. The office and staff are great. I usually don't like doctors but Dr. Dugas gives you a great experience!

I wear progressives which need very precise measurements to be effective. I came in and first visited with the Dr. Next door who really fine tuned my new prescription. Walked into Visionworks to have the lenses in my current frames replaced. They had no problem accommodating me with my existing frame and made sure I had a backup pair while mine were being fitted with new lenses. The price for their elite ploy Lena progressives was half the price of the supposed "Best" I had before. It then decided to make use of my frame allowance and also bought a pair of prescription sun glasses. All in all still cheaper than the other guys. I was told it would take 2-3 weeks for them to come back. Surprisingly they were ready at exactly 1 week. Granted I miss the days of the 1 hour glasses while you wait, but compared to others this was Lightning quick. Although we should expect things to be done right the first time, glasses at other place have often had to be remade do to an error in the lens creation. Both pairs of lenses were perfect. Shocker! The also sent me home with a new ray ban case for my old frames I bought elsewhere. Very considerate. The stag was super helpful and friendly. Especially the lady the helped me. Can't remember her name but she had dyed hair, horn rimmed glasses, and some interesting piercings.

All of the staff was so kind, patient and helpful throughout the whole process. Dr. Stacie was amazing and she really took her time when working with my daughter. I visited Prosper Family Eyecare as a walk in for medical care for my left eye and learned a valuable lesson. There is a BIG difference between an Optometrist and an Ophthalmologist. An optometrist IS NOT A MEDICAL DOCTOR and is not qualified to assess anything other than sight testing and management of general vision changes. If you are in need of glasses or general vision then this is what an optometrist is qualified to assist you with. However, if you are in need of medical attention for your eye then you need to see an ophthalmologist (a medical doctor) with experience diagnosing and treating eye and vision conditions. What is disappointing is that Prosper Family Eye care accepts walk-ins to treat issues beyond the scope of what they are qualified to access as there are no medical doctors (Ophthalmologist) at this facility i.e. they are Optometrist. I called and set an appointment to go in due to having serious discomfort in my left eye, bloodshot, increased sensitivity to light, poor vision. This office does not bill insurance so the out of pocket is $155. I came in for a foreign object or debris in my eye yet during my visit my eye was not flushed out. Other than a general eye exam I was prescribed Tobramycin and sent on my way. During my visit, the affects and dangers of Tobramycin were not explained. There are serious complications of this medicine, blurred vision, blindness etc. This medication is to treat bacterial infections, it will do nothing for a viral infection and will only make it worse. It is imperative that a proper evaluation of the eye is done to be sure the infection is bacterial to prevent the eye from regressing further. What I find especially troubling is how an Optometrist (not a Medical Doctor) can prescribe this medication for a patient with a medical concern. Optometrist should not be prescribing this type of medication unless it is related to a patient experiencing an infection from a contact lens or something of that nature within their general scope of practice. Prescribing this medication to a patient with a medical concern unrelated to general vision issues is something only a Ophthalmologists (medical doctor) is truly qualified to do. Bottomline, if you have a medical issue with your eye that is unrelated to wearing glasses or contact lenses then spend your money to go see an actual M.D., an Ophthalmologist. Even Proper Family Eyecare won't refute this, as after they took my $155 and failed to treat me properly they simply referred me to an Ophthalmologist so I could get proper treatment. #LessonLearned

New review: Lone Star Vision: Celina…read more Brought my daughter in for an eye exam today to the new Lone star vision and was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful and efficient it is! I don't believe it's been open for very long, it's right off of Preston Rd in Celina. The offices are beautifully designed, I loved all of the thoughtful pieces throughout, definitely thumbs up for the coffee bar! The staff was friendly and accommodating, the doctor took his time to explain the pictures of the eye to my daughter, which was fascinating! They got us in and out pretty quickly and did an amazing job. I think my daughter was really happy with her eyeglass selection. She hasn't had glasses for several years and is looking forward to them, especially for driving. We opted to add in the blue light filter to help with screen time effects on the eyes. Highly recommend, if you are needing assistance with vision, be sure to check out Lone star vision!
