I was a victim of a hit and run, I called the police as I trailed the car that was attempting to flee me, I gave them the license plate number and the officer asked me to pull over (I understand it could be dangerous to me to keep trailing someone who just crashed into your car and ran off) I followed their commands, they informed me they would pursue the car themselves. They never even bothered to find the person and wrote the whole thing off, they came took my side of the story saw the damage saw how shook up i was and then that was it. I followed up with them to see if they will ever go to the suspects house and question them or look at their car to see the matching damage and the officer literally answered with "ahhh to be honest no I doubt anything will be done" and I said ok so good to know people can just hit other cars and run and he said "well ahh umm ahh no". Seriously if you are not white just forget about attempting to get any help from these guys. I'm left to fix thousands of dollars of damage because the insurance company said the police barely wrote an efficient report

Not only that, but the staff insists that you put your package in a giant bin in the retail floor, which must not be emptied often, as I saw more than a few boxes and padded envelopes absolutely crushed beneath large packages haphazardly thrown atop the pile. And in the one instance I left a few in the bin, the tracking info showed a a full business day gap from the date I dropped them off to the day they were "received by the facility." Not cool. Suffice it to say, if you need to pay for something, sure they'll sell you stamps and ring you up for labels, but if you're just dropping off, this ain't the PO to go to.

Lots of libraries tend to look the same but this one definitely stands out and is pretty cool both inside and out. The first thing you notice are the massive pillars in the front. Looks more appropriate on a court house instead of a small town library but seems to fit quite well once you get use to them. Once inside you will see the usual library stuff but if you look up you will notice a beautiful exposed ceiling that gives the entire library a much larger and more spacious feel. In fact the whole library seems so relaxed and roomy, a great place to sit with a book or do some poking around. The library also has a cool kids department that offers games, puzzles, Wii, story time programs and educational classes as well as adult events. A huge community room that seats about 100 people is downstairs and is available free to various groups. Definitely a cool library that has a unique look and feel to it. Sometimes something strange or different just means that it it better than mundane or ordinary.

Parking lot is massive, open evenings M-W and otherwise only closed on Sundays, and you best believe they have entertainment for the wee ones - from the infamous MamaSteph to jugglers, Lego Builders and story tellers! *Just like the Minuteman, the Old Colony Library Network will pull inventory from any of the 29 in-circle libraries dotting the South Shore and have it waiting for you at your local branch. I am currently in college as a commuting nursing student and I have been using this library every day since I have begun. Lately I have had several issues with the staff. I am not one to complain nor write a review but the way they approach people to tell them of something they are doing wrong is so disrespectful. I simply asked the director of the library if she would mind resetting the wifi for me because my friends and I were having trouble getting on to our school website, and the last time I had faced this issue a different librarian had reset the wifi and it worked within seconds. This simple task turned into what seemed like the world was ending. The director threw her arms up at me and the other women working and said "ILL JUST GO RE SET IT" and stormed down the stairs, I stood there in total disbelief and returned to my studying. I then heard the director talking poorly about me to the other staff. It was a simple request and I approached it very politely, never have I had someone blow up on me so quickly. Scary to think it was the director of the library who talked to me this way I later found out. Within seconds after SIMPLY resetting the wifi, we were all able to get on to the website. I told myself I would not return back to the library but living in Hanover it is just so convenient for me and I need a quiet place to study. When I decided to return back to the library today a fellow student and I put ourselves into what is labeled as the "quiet room for studying" not the "silent room" nor the "do not talk room". We had just taken out our mountains of books and laptops and were just greeting each other as we sat down and shut the doors to block out the noise. The librarian came in and opened the doors wide open and told us we could not keep doing this and that this room is meant for no talking at all. Mind you, we are the only 2 in the room and we shut the doors to block out all the noise outside of the room to focus on our studying. We were not sitting there playing music, or even talking loudly for that matter. The way she approached us was totally unprofessional and disrespectful simply because she has authority over us. If someone else was in the room and we were disrupting them by simply saying hello to each other before we began to study, I would understand. The town hall will be hearing from me in regards to the staff at this library. Truly a shame that I do not feel comfortable in my home town library. I understand libraries are supposed to be quiet, which is why I put myself in that quiet room with the doors shut because that library is most definitely not quiet, which is nothing they can control but just to prove a point I go t here to study and do my work. I do not treat it like a social area the way they act I do. They probably see a 20 year old college student and assume that I will be disrespectful, when in reality I sit there and do my work. It seems they find interest in making me feel like I am an issue to the library, sadly they are the ones looking for the issue to be formed. I will not recommend this library to anyone I know nor be using it again.

It was always clean and we were always able to get the assistance we needed finding any books. Now with the new building, not only is it beautiful, the same friendly and helpful people are still here. There is a lovely garden entrance, multiple meeting rooms, and even a back porch for outdoor reading. My son enjoyed an event that was recently held here, a community art project where different colored stickers form a large image, and being able to borrow different items like puzzles, games, and binoculars, in addition to books. We tried the binoculars on the porch and spotted some deer!

Semantics aside, the space and staff are wonderful - keeping we, the layfolk - informed and armed to checking out with minimal interaction. Meaning? With the exception of digital media, you can check out your hardcover goodies with a scan-out kiosk. Scan your card, scan your books, and GTFO. They have a tremendous (and largely untapped) digital media collection. Books are cleanly organized and the space itself is incredibly well-kept. No drop box? Bummer. Pick up your books, drop 'em off, and bounce like a baller.
